Andrew Jackson Broughton

Andrew Jackson Broughton was born in Louisiana on June 22, 1883. He would be married three times during his life and have children with two of his wives. The first bride was Eunice Burgess Higginbotham. A J and Eunice had a daughter whom they named named Celestia Lavelle Broughton. A J's second wife was Eva Lou Maddry whom he married on December 18, 1910 and with whom he would father three children:

1. Theron Carlton Broughton, born in February 1, 1912.
2. Margie Lou Broughton, born in 1914, married Marion Posey Hoss.
3. and Ozelle Broughton, born in 1917.

Andrew Jackson married his third wife, Odie Lauderdale (born July 28, 1899 on Independence day (July 4th) 1942. Odie would pass away eleven years later on January 8, 1953. She's buried at Harmony Chapel Cemetery in Hico Louisiana. AJ died on November 12, 1963 and is buried at Harmony beside his third wife, Odie.

On December 22, 1934, Theron married Iva Lee Bennett (born March 22, 1917-died January 17, 1991). The couple settled in Lincoln Parish Louisiana where they would raise their four children:

1. Jerald David Broughton, born 1935. He married Bettye Faye Mobley on January 31, 1958. They had three kids: Faye, who was born June 15, 1959 and tragically died the next day. She's buried at Harmony Chapel Cemetery in Lincoln Parish, LA. The next two kids were sons born in Vicksburg Mississippi: Jerald Theron Broughton, born in June 30, 1961 and Scott Andrew Broughton, born May 27, 1962. Jerald and Bettye later divorced.
2. Jack Wayne Broughton, born July 22, 1939 in Lincoln Parish, Louisiana. He married Dee Ann Loraine Mount (born December 5, 1940 in Kansas) on September 2, 1961 in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana. The couple had two daughters: Kelly Broughton, born November 9, 1962 and Kristy Broughton, born June 28, 1969. Jack W. Broughton died September 6, 1982 in Sheridan Arkansas. He was laid to rest at Harmony Chapel Cemetery in Hico, Lincoln Parish, LA. His headstone has a cross and the following inscription "Jack W. Broughton A1C US Air Force Jul 22, 1939 - Sep 6, 1982."
3. Linda Lou Broughton, born September 21, 1941. She married Johnny Bridges on September 2, 1960 at Harmony Chapel in Hico, LA. The couple had three children: Cathy Jon Bridges, born in Lincoln Parish LA on September 4, 1961; Karen Susanne Bridges, born in Lincoln Parish, LA on March 31, 1968 and Johnny Ted Bridges, born in Monroe, LA on May 1, 1970.
4. Evelyn Sue Broughton, born December 18, 1947. In Adams County, Mississippi on June 13, 1966, she married first Caroyl DeWayne Bryan with whom she had two daughters: Carilon DeLaine Bryan, born on December 31, 1968 and Amy Darice Bryan, born on August 8, 1971. The marriage ended in divorce and Evelyn later remarried on July 6, 1983 to William Denver Cole.
