There are two main Broughton families in Chile and we are all related. All I know is that two cousins came to build the first railroad in South America and ere enginneers. I have a Great-Great Grandfather, William SHEPHERD, from Stratton Audley, Oxfordshire, England, who married an Ann Broughton, at St. Marylebone, Middlesex, England. "22 Dec 1789 William Shepherd of this parish, bachelor, and Ann Broughton of the same parish, spinser, married by license. Witnesses: Thomas Moore, Mary Rathbone." She was born Jan. 23, 1767 to Richard Broughton and Mary (?) of Meadowlane, Leeds, England. No other info on these parents! William Shepherd and Ann Broughton are both buried in Stratton Audley, Oxfordshire. As far as I can find, they had three sons, William born 6 Jan, baptised 3 Feb 1794 St. Marylebone; Richard Alexander born 4 Nov, baptised 10 Dec 1798 St. Marylebone; an Thomas William born 9 June, baptised 11 July, 1802 at St. Marylebone(this is my immigrant to the USA, and finally settled in Texas.)
