Horace Broughton is the son of Nathan Broughton Junior and Ann Tomb. He was born in Morris Township, Tioga County Pennsylvania on May 11, 1855. Horace married Lucinda Day, a native of Lycoming County, Pennsylvania who was born around 1865.

The couple would have six ( 6 ) known children:

Horace Broughton would not live to see the turn of the 20th century. He passed away April 6, 1898 in Morris Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. His wife, Lucinda, would outlive her husband by more than 2 decades. She died on October 20, 1920 in Morris Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.
