in World War I
- C BROUGHTON -
Private -10th Bn., Worcestershire Regiment
He died on Tuesday, 29th October 1918. His memorial is on Panel
Number XIII.B.8 at Berlin South-Western Cemetery in Brandenburg,
Germany about 26 kilometers southwest of Berlin.
- CHARLES BROUGHTON -
Private - 1st/8th Bn., The King's (Liverpool Regiment)
He died on Saturday, 26th August 1916 at the age of 19. He was
the son of Charles and Catherine Broughton, of 3, Cochrane St.,
Everton, Liverpool. His memorial is located on Panel Number II.AA.27
at St Souplet British Cemetery in Nord, France. The cemetery
originally held American & British graves, but the American
graves were removed after the Armistice. There are now nearly
750, 1914-18 war casualties commemorated in this site. Of these,
one-fifth are unidentified and special memorials are erected
to 55 soldiers from the United Kingdom, buried in other cemeteries,
whose graves could not be found.
- CHARLES BROUGHTON -
Private - 1st Bn., Lincolnshire Regiment
He died on Wednesday, 16th June 1915. His memorial is on Panel
#21 on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial in Ypres (now Ieper) in
the Province of West Flanders. The memorial is located on the
road to Menin and bears the names of men who were lost without
a trace during the defense of the Ypres Salient in the First
World War.

Rifleman - 1st/5th Bn., The King's (Liverpool Regiment)
He died on Monday, 25th September 1916. His memorial is on Pier
& Face 1 D 8 B and 8 C on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme France.
The memorial is on D73, off the main Bapaume to Albert road.

Captain - 34th Prince Albert Victor's Own Poona Horse
He died on Monday, 6th October 1919. His memorial is on Face
#24 of the Delhi Memorial (India Gate) which is located at the
eastern end of the Rajpath (or Kingsway) in India. It commemorates
those who served with the United Kingdom and Australian forces
and honors the 70,000 soldiers of undivided India who fell in
defense of the British Empire between 1914 and 1921.
- CHARLES HENRY BROUGHTON - Private - Auckland Regiment, N.Z.E.F.
He died on Friday, 27th June 1919 at the age of 50. He wife was
Elizabeth Broughton, of 22, Bethel Place, Vine St., Tooley St.,
London, England. His memorial is on Panel Number D.415 at Tidworth
Military Cemetery, Wilshire, United Kingdom.
- CHARLES WILLIAM BROUGHTON - Private - 5th Bn., Northamptonshire Regt.
Labour Corps
He died on Friday, 31st January 1919 at the age of 26. Charles
was a native of Wellingborough and the husband of H. Broughton,
of 55, Stanley Rd., Wellingborough, Northants. His memorial is
located on Panel Number VIII.A.7 at Les Baraques Military Cemetery
in Sangatte, Pas de Calais, France. There are now over 1,000
1914-18 war casualties commemorated at this site. Of these, nearly
20 from the 1914-18 War are unidentified.
- COLIN RAMSAY BROUGHTON - Lance Corporal - "D" Coy. 5th Bn.,
Canadian Infantry (Saskatchewan Regt.) He died on Wednesday,
26th July 1916 at the age of 25. His parents were John William
and Alice Broughton, of 2nd St. N.E., Red Deer, Alberta. Native
of Grimsby, England. His memorial is located on Panel Number
VI.C.37 at the Railway Dugouts Burial Ground in Zillebeke, near
Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. There are now nearly 2,500,
1914-18 war casualties commemorated in this site. Of these, over
400 are unidentified and 261 are represented by special memorials.
Other speical memorials record the names of 42 soldiers from
Canada and 30 from the United Kingdom, buried in other cemeteries,
whose graves were destroyed in later fighting.
