  • DAVID BROUGHTON - Rifleman - 9th Bn., King's Royal Rifle Corps
    He died on Tuesday, 22nd June 1915 at the age of 33. His wife was Blanche Annie Broughton, of 25, Beresford Rd., Reading. His memorial is located on Panel #51 and 53 on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial which is on the road to Menin in the eastern side of the town Ypres (now Ieper, Belgium) in the Province of West Flanders. The memorial bears the names of men who were lost without a trace during the defense of the Ypres Salient in the First World War.
  • DAVID ABRAHAM BROUGHTON - Private - 1st Bn., South Staffordshire Regiment
    He died on Friday, 26th October 1917 at the age 19. His parents were Samuel James and Mary Ann Broughton, of Wisbech St. Mary, Wisbech, Cambs. His memorial is on Panel Number I.U.33 in the La Brique Military Cemetery No.2 on the northeast side of the town of Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. There are now over 800, 1914-18 war casualties commemorated in this site. Of these, nearly 400 are unidentified and memorials are erected to four soldiers from the United Kingdom, known or believed to be buried among them.
