- FRANK BROUGHTON - Petty
Officer Stoker (P/KX 78221) H.M.S. Wren, Royal Navy. He died
on Saturday, 27th July 1940 at the age of 31. He was the husband
of Elizabeth Maud Broughton, of West Marsh, Grimsby, Lincolnshire.
His memorial is on Panel Number: 1. B. 8. of Shotley Royal Naval
Cemetery in Suffolk, UK.
- FREDERICK LEONARD BROUGHTON
- Private, 6th Bn., Queen's Own Royal West Kent
Regiment. He died on Saturday, 28th October 1944. He was 36,
the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Broughton, and the husband of Elizabeth
Ann Broughton, of Treorchy, Glamorgan. His memorial is on Panel
Number: VII. F. 14. in the Faenza War Cemetery, which is located
1.5 kilometres south-east of Faenza, Italy. The war cemetery
was formed in the winter of 1944 for the burial of those who
were killed in the static fighting before the advance was renewed
in April, 1945. There are now over 1,000, 1939-45 war casualties
commemorated in this site. Of these, a small number are unidentified.
