Recorded a goodly amount of sound this weekend. Seems like whatever wild track I record, though, I always think of another one I need to do. Still need to get the following:
Wild Track Needed:
I got some nice sounds at the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz and of kids playing on the beach along with ocean surf. I'm sure I can use this in a number ob locations, including "kids playing ball". I also got a nice long take of elevator noises at the Westin St. Francis that should fit well.
The radio thing is for when Michael is cruising along in his car at the beginning of the film. I wrote something up. I'll probably record it tonight when all is quiet.
I'll see what tools are available for a siren. I'm sure there must be some online sound effects library that has this. Sure would beat running around setting off car alarms. A second plan is to use the ambient noise of an airplane. I recorded some of this this weekend. It might actually work out better for the dream sequence. I won't stress on it too much.
Started making a dirty dub Saturday night. Took me about two hours to do the first 20 minutes. 10 minutes an hour isn't too shabby. The dream thing, Doppler shift, the Falling in Love collage and Teacher's Pet will surely take longer. It's only a rough sketch, though, so I won't get too incredibly anal about it.
Man am I tired all of the time these days it seems. The project has taken more of a toll on me than I thought. And I thought the month of August was when I'd get some sleep...
I need to call the editors tomorrow and send in the final batch of film on Wednesday.
Can't believe it's almost September. Where has the time gone?
