Had a nice talk with the future editor (once we agree upon the conditions, etc.) about the film. I'm finally shifting gears now that all of the raw materials are just about in. Post-production calls for a complete paradigm shift. This is what we have, now let's go about turning it into art. No more whining about lack of food on set, lighting problems, people showing up late, chase cars on fire, etc. Let's weave it into gold.
Of course I'm biased, but the first 20 minutes of the dirty dub I found to be mesmerizing. It really is a unique story. The audience won't be able to predict what's going to happen. They've never seen these characters before. It's such a straightforward plot, but everyone goes through a number of changes, as did the director while filming.
Okay, so let's send the rest of the film in already, record the last bit of wild track, organize the B roll footage already shot (Wednesday), schedule the last transfer, then finish the dirty dub. I need to call the potential editors Thursday or Friday so that we can sit down and talk about specifics. All of the pieces will be in place shortly.
I'm so excited. And I just can't hide it. I'm about to lose control and I think I like it... (Name that tune.)
