Completed the dirty dub up to the end of the San Jose Motel scene. It's very rough, but it gives a good indication of how the film will flow using what I have.

This exercise has proven extremely useful and maps out exactly what I need to do. I need to make a clear list of takes that are preferred and that are usable. This way the editors can know exactly what to download and what not to bother with. I then need to make a detailed list of how I feel the rough edit should look, with time code numbers, start and finish (time code in and out); BETA number; and sound notes indicating what wild track to use and a visual reference (time code). In the process I need to finish the dirty dub, putting on separate tapes those things that I don't have all the pieces to yet, (the stuff that I'll be sending to the lab Tuesday).

The format should look like this, start to finish, for the length of the dub:

EDIT LIST

SHOT TAKE BETA TCI TCO WILD-TRACK DAT ATIME REFERENCE

The list of usable takes should be separate with time code numbers spanning the full length of the take, or however much I want downloaded to disk. This list should encompass all of the shots referred to above, and any alternates that I might go to.

The end of the San Jose Motel Scene is at 30 minutes, and ends on page 44 of 120 pages. This ratio puts the finished film somewhere between 80 and 90 minutes, although I need to account for some of the collage that I didn't dub.
