OUT NOW!! : First Official X-Files Magazine!!

NB SPOILER ALERT!

Being presently released into the world is the latest baby of the unstoppable X-Files merchandising machine- The Official X-Files Magazine!

Although the X-Files Cartoon Magazine (made by Topps comics in the US- I think) has been around for some time this is the first magazine completely devoted to the show and all the goings on therein.

The first edition will contain interviews with William B Davis and Chris Carter and a look at the back-stage chemistry of the cast and crew. The magazine is being produced by the same people that brought you Cinescape, Cinescape Special Edition and the Independence Day collectors magazine- and is tipped to be an 'exciting' 'fast-paced' magazine in dynamic 'graphic format'.

Despite what I originally thought (and actually reported a while back) the magazine is being sold in the UK- published by Titan and selling at about £3.25 in most sci-fi and comic stores. For those of you on the other side of the Atlantic you can buy your magazine from most news stands or can order it from:

MVP Media

1920 Highland Avenue

Suite 220

Lombard, Illinois 60148
Prices are $5.95 + $2.00 shipping for US residents and $6.95+$2.00 shipping (US funds) for those in Canada.

(Please send cheque or money order)

I would suggest you get your orders in soon as, if the present popularity of the X-Files is anything to go buy, the magazine is likely to continue for quite some time to come and the first edition may one day be quite a collectable item....

STOP PRESS!!! STOP PRESS!!!

Shortly after I wrote this they released the second edition of the X-Files magazine (these guys work fast!). The magazine is packed full of behind the scenes info. on season 4, especially on the latest bombshell- Mulder's apparent suicide... There are also interviews with Scully's Mum (Sheila Larken), Agent Pendrell (Brendan Beisen), Alex Krycek (Nicolas Lea) and the infamous woman at the UN- Marita Covarrubias (Laurie Holden). There is a look at the career of R.W. Goodwin- executive producer on the X-Files, an in-depth look at 'Tempus Fugit' and 'Max' and info. on the latest film roles, music singles etc. in the lives of DD and GA.

And just to be annoying (and to get obsessive fans like me to part with even more of their hard-earned cash) the magazine comes with two covers - one each of GA and DD (!) [there goes my pay cheque!].

No subscriptions are available as yet but the magazine was released on July 22nd stateside (I'm not sure about the UK) or can be ordered from the above address for the same price as the first edition. If you're a complete obsessive (like me!) or just a collector you can buy both copies of the magazine (both GA and DD) for $11.90 + $3.00 S+H from the same place as above.
