"Renegade"

INT. MONTGOMMERY'S OFFICE - DAY

In darkness.

				  WHITE
Forget it, Montgommery. I was never a part
of your Academy, and I never will be a part
of your Team, U.N. backed or not.

				  MONTGOMMERY
Get this fast and straight. You are the only
one in this Operation who has true potential.
You are the only one I'd dare put in this
		situation.

				  WHITE
Potential means nothing when it comes to
command decisions and saving lives. It takes
a want and a lust for the job, and, frankly,
		I hate this job.

				  MONTGOMMERY
Obviously, you are not in a mature state of
mind. When you have calmed down and gotten a
grip on yourself, we will continue this
conversation. Until then, you are still in the
Academy, you are still a Lieutenant, and you
are still going up on training missions. Is that
		clear, White?

				  WHITE
		Perfectly, Sir!

                                                                  FADE FROM BLACK.

EXT. COUNTRYSIDE - DAY

Establish four helicopters flying extremely low-level overhead and into the
distance.

INT. HELICOPTER - DAY

DAVID WHITE (early thirties, average) is busy at the controls. The other pilots are
heard over the radio.

				  WHITE
		Okay, boys, welcome to it.

				  JACKIE (O/C)
		What's the mission?

				  SPENCER (O/C)
		Exercise. Isn't that right?

				  WHITE
That's right, Spencer. Shoot your load, and move
		on home.

				  OSCAR (O/C)
This is Oscar. We're ten away, movin' in at
one-fifty-five, five head wind, and countin' down.
		E.T.A. is two minutes.

				  WHITE
Roger, Oscar. Set your targeting computers.

				  JACKIE (O/C)
		Two is set.

				  SPENCER (O/C)
		Four's as ready as ever.

				  OSCAR (O/C)
		That's weird.

				  WHITE
		Talk to me, Oz.

				  OSCAR (O/C)
		I'm getting a shadow, one-eight-zero degrees from
		our heading.

				  WHITE
		Double check.

				  OSCAR (O/C)
Done. Confirm, bogey at two-one-seven degrees
		magnetic and closing fast.

				  JACKIE (O/C)
Could be one of Montgommery's scare tactics.

				  WHITE
Could also be a stray from the jet range.

				  JACKIE (O/C)
If he is, we'd better let him know.

				  WHITE
Shouldn't have to. Once he sees who we are, he'll
		back off.

				  SPENCER (O/C)
		Are you sure?

				  OSCAR (O/C)
This is Oz, this is Oz. Bogey has missile lock!

				  WHITE
		That can't be.

				  OSCAR (O/C)
		Well, tell him that!

				  WHITE
		Counter it.

				  OSCAR (O/C)
		Right away, Sir.

Suddenly, a helicopter explodes. This was Oscar's helicopter.

				  WHITE
		What the...

				  SPENCER (O/C)
		Too much.

				  WHITE
Jackie, contact the bogey. I'll get the range.

				  JACKIE (O/C)
		He's jamming us.

				  WHITE
		Split and run.

				  SPENCER (O/C)
		What about the Exercise?

				  WHITE
Screw the Exercise. Split and run. That's an
		order!

The three remaining helicopters split and go in three different directions.

				   WHITE
			(praying to himself)
Dear, God. Help me get home. Please, God, help
me get home. I just want to get home. Please.
Oh, my God, oh, my God.

Jackie's voice cuts over White's prayers.

				  JACKIE (O/C)
This is Jackie. Dave, I hope you are still out
there. We just lost Spencer, and now the
		bastard's on me. Shit! He's...

The radio crackles with static.

				  WHITE
Jackie? Jackie, come in. Jackie!! Oh, no.

EXT. COUNTRYSIDE - DAY

A jet aircraft comes around into a hard bank and moves in behind White's helicopter.

INT. HELICOPTER - DAY

A warning alarm can be heard.

				  WHITE
		Sweet, Jesus, he's locked.

EXT. COUNTRYSIDE - DAY

A missile leaves the jet and races toward White's helicopter.

INT. HELICOPTER - DAY

White is frantic. Everything he is doing is chaotic.

				  WHITE
		Christ. No!!

A bright light blinds us.

EXT. AIR FORCE BASE - DAY

White and MONTGOMMERY (mid fifties, distinguished, handsome) are face to face. White
reaches out and grabs Montgommery by his uniform jacket rather violently.

				  WHITE
It was supposed to be an exercise! Do you hear
me? An exercise!! Damn you, Montgommery. Damn
		you, to hell!

INT. LARGE BALLROOM - NIGHT

As we move through a room full of elegantly dressed V.I.P.'s, one in particular catches
our eye. This is CASSANDERA MONCHRIEF (late twenties, very attractive, blonde). She is
dressed in a ceremonial dress English Air Force uniform. White is here as well. He is
wearing a dirty pair of Command Seven overalls.

				  CASSANDERA
		So, you're White.

				  WHITE
Yeah. Now that you mention it.

Cassandera throws her drink in White's face.

				  CASSANDERA
Do your own spying, White, and while you're at
		it, do your own fighting.

Cassandera walks away.

EXT. BATTLEFIELD - DAY

White and Cassandera are in the midst of a heated conversation. Both are dressed in
combat fatigues, and both look dirty and exhausted, as if just recently in a battle.

				  CASSANDERA
How dare you even consider taking command of
		my Team!

				  WHITE
How dare...how dare me?! Maybe you haven't
noticed what's been happening lately, but you
don't have a Team anymore. They just got
annihilated. And your demands that my Team be
unarmed have cost me the last of my closest
friends. Mind you, I suppose my friends don't
really matter to you, now do they? My entire
Team doesn't matter to you. Hell, I don't matter
		to you. Just the competition!

				  CASSANDERA
		You're out of line!

				  WHITE
I'm out of line?! You almost killed my entire
Team, and I'm out of line?! I'm surprised there's
room for you and your ego out here.

Cassandera punches White in the face, sending him to the ground.

				  CASSANDERA
		Don't push me.

White gets up.

				  WHITE
Listen, you don't like me, and I don't like you.
So, I'll tell you what, you stay away from me and
my Team, and I'll stay away from you and what's
		left of yours.

White walks away.

INT. MONTGOMMERY'S OFFICE - DAY

White and Montgommery are squaring off.

				  WHITE
		You can't be serious!

				  MONTGOMMERY
You have your orders, Lieutenant. As of now,
Captain Cassandera Monchrief is a member of
		Command Seven Emergency Services.

				  WHITE
		But...

				  MONTGOMMERY
		That will be all, Lieutenant.

INT. CAFETERIA - DAY

Cassandera enters the cafeteria. When she and White see each other, some of the
members of White's Team try to tip-toe out as quickly and quietly as possible.
Cassandera walks over to White's table and sits down next to him. Looks are exchanged
between a few observers around including TOM SCOTT (late twenties, handsome) JESSICA
LINGRETH (late twenties, beautiful, brunette) and DARYL WILDER (early thirties,
average).

				  WHITE
I hear that you're on my Team.

				  CASSANDERA
		Not by choice, believe me.

				  WHITE
That's also what I hear. England had to order
		you across.

				  CASSANDERA
		It's nothing personal. I just couldn't stand
the thought of having to see your face, day
		in and day out.

				  WHITE
		Likewise, I'm sure.

There is a moment of tense silence.

				  JESSICA
				(muttering)
		The calm before the storm.

				  TOM
Get ready to run for cover.

				  DARYL
		Again?

White and Cassandera are staring at each other.

				  CASSANDERA
		So, Marry me.

				  WHITE
		What?

				  CASSANDERA
		You heard me. Marry me.

White breaks into a bit of a laugh and a smile.

				  WHITE
Why not. My day's ruined anyway.

White and Cassandera break into a relaxed smile and renewed laugh. Tom wipes away some
sweat from his forehead.

EXT. BEACH - DAY

White and Cassandera are running along a beach. Finally, Cassandera lets White catch
her.

				  CASSANDERA
Who would ever believe that this would be
		happening right now?

				  WHITE
		Not me, that's for sure.

Both are trying to catch their breath. Suddenly, Montgommery steps from out of nowhere.

				  MONTGOMMERY
You're going to kill me, White. It's because
of you that I'm going to die.

Suddenly, ALLAN STRATFORD (late forties, average looking) appears by placing his hand
on White's shoulder.

				  ALLAN
Come on. It's time to go.

EXT. BATTLEFIELD - DAY

White is standing in the middle of smoke and bodies. It is obvious that this is the
aftermath of a battle. White looks down to see the body of a young eleven year old boy.
White wipes away a few tears.

EXT. GRAVEYARD - DAY

Suddenly, the scene has changed to a burial ceremony. There is not only a 21 Gun Salute
ready, but we take shots of two new gravestones. They read: "JEFF TAYLOR. DIED AT 11
YEARS" and, "GENERAL ARTHUR MONTGOMMERY. DIED AT 54 YEARS". They continue to say, "DEATH
DUE TO WHITE". Suddenly, Cassandera appears, holding a semi-automatic handgun.

				  CASSANDERA
		Dave.

White turns and looks at her. Cassandera raises the gun she has, and we constantly cut
to and from her and the Honor Guard. The SERGEANT (late thirties, tall, stern) yells out
his commands.

				  SERGEANT
				 (bellowing)
		Ready! Present! Fire!

When the order to Fire is given, Cassandera's grip on the gun tightens.

INT. WHITE'S BEDROOM - NIGHT

White awakens from his sleep in a cold sweat at the same instant the sound of gunfire is
heard.

			   OPENING MUSIC AND CREDITS

INT. WHITE'S BEDROOM - EARLY MORNING

Cassandera is alone in a large bed. She gently rolls over and reaches out, putting her
arm across the empty side of the bed. She feels again obviously, for someone who isn't
there, then looks around. She looks at the clock next to the bed. It reads "5:58 A.M."

INT. WHITE'S DEN - EARLY MORNING

The den is low in light. The television is off and suddenly comes to life with the
flickering of static and the sound of an Anchorperson's voice. In the news preview,
the stories include: The Wedding, severe flooding down South.

				  ANCHORPERSON
Rain, rain, and more rain. The South braces for
another wet and windy weekend. But first... The
news of the Wedding of the Year has come to be
one of the most talked about things in the news
to date. Captain David White and Captain
Cassandera Monchrief made a public announcement
to finally tie the knot, after several months
of speculation from both the public and news
media. Captain's White and Monchrief, both of
the famed Command Seven Emergency Services, have
set the date for today, September 11th. at 6:00
P.M., Eastern Standard Time. The ceremony will
take place at Saint Joseph's Cathedral, with a
reception to follow for invited guests only, at
an unknown location. The marriage comes as no
real surprise, except to those who thought the
two viewed their working relationship as more of
a priority, having been united when Command
Seven was reactivated over two years ago. In
other news, the worst flooding in a century has
		hit most of the South...

White is sitting in a large chair. Cassandera enters the room from an entrance behind
White. She moves up behind him, leans over the back of the chair, and puts her arms
around him.

				  CASSANDERA
		What are you up to?

				  WHITE
		Nothing.

				  CASSANDERA
Nothing, hmmm? Why is it I find that very hard
		to believe?

				  WHITE
Probably because you know me a little bit too
		well.

				  CASSANDERA
		So?

				  WHITE
		So, what?

				  CASSANDERA
		So, what's wrong?

				  WHITE
I just can't help thinking that this is all one
		huge mistake.

				  CASSANDERA
		It happened again, didn't it?

				  WHITE
It was a little bit longer than usual, but yes.

				  CASSANDERA
Do you want to back out?

				  WHITE
		Don't word it that way.

Cassandera moves around to the front of the chair and kneels beside White, resting her
chin on the arm of the chair. She looks directly into his eyes.

				  CASSANDERA
		Talk.

				  WHITE
I love you, don't get me wrong. It's just that
I'm not too sure if it's the safest thing to do,
		that's all.

				  CASSANDERA
What's the worst thing that could happen?

				  WHITE
Either one of us could get killed and leave the
other a widow. That's what could happen.

				  CASSANDERA
And I suppose you think that can't happen to
		anyone else, right?

				  WHITE
		I didn't say that.

				  CASSANDERA
Well then, what did you say?

				  WHITE
What I meant to say is that there are a lot of
things that we will have to face that others
		never will!

				  CASSANDERA
		Yes, so?

				  WHITE
So? So, what would happen if there was some
situation, and I had to send you out, and you
wound up getting killed? How am I supposed to
		handle that?

				  CASSANDERA
We've been through this a thousand times
		before, David.

				  WHITE
But is a thousand times enough? What would
happen if you had the CASTLEGUARD, and you made
a command decision that cost me my life?

				  CASSANDERA
I'd feel the same way if anyone died under my
command. The same way you'd feel for that matter.

				  WHITE
Come on Cass., you know that's no answer.

White gets out of the chair and walks over to a window.

				  CASSANDERA
What are you going to do, quit?

				  WHITE
		Now that you mention it...

				  CASSANDERA
Oh, wake up, David! You are the Captain! You
are the only one who has the ability and
knowledge. Montgommery saw that. That's why he
put you in charge of the Organization.

				  WHITE
And where is he? Dead, Cass. He's dead. I don't
want the responsibility anymore. I'm just tired
		of fighting.

				  CASSANDERA
Fine. Let me ask you this, Do you love me?

				  WHITE
Come on, you know I do.

				  CASSANDERA
Good, because I just happen to love you, a lot.

Cassandera crosses to White.

				  CASSANDERA
Now, seeing as we have mutual feelings for each
other, wouldn't it be best to make the most of
		them?

				  WHITE
		Yes.

				  CASSANDERA
		Pardon, me?

				  WHITE
		Yes, damn it, yes! Alright?

Cassandera turns White toward her.

				  CASSANDERA
Would it hurt any less if we lost each other,
		and we weren't married?

				  WHITE
		No, I guess not. I don't know. I guess I'm
		just scared.

				  CASSANDERA
		Good. That's a good sign.

				  WHITE
		Why do you say that?

				  CASSANDERA
		Because I'm terrified.

They both laugh.

				  WHITE
		I love you.

				  CASSANDERA
I love you too, and there's absolutely no
way you are going to get away from me this
		time. You hear me, White?

				  WHITE
		Loud and clear.

They kiss.

INT. CASTLEGUARD FLIGHT DECK - DAY

Several technicians are working on various aircraft. DARREN LARSON (mid thirties, John
Wayne type) and Allan are walking down a clear pathway.

				  DARREN
		Get somebody else.

				  ALLAN
No choice, sorry. You are the Flight Wing
Leader and the most knowledgeable pilot as
far as the GL-33 is concerned.

				  DARREN
		Except for you.

				  ALLAN
		Except for me.

				  DARREN
So, you fly the damn thing.

				  ALLAN
		Sorry, rank has its privileges.

				  DARREN
Don't pull that privileges shit on me.

				  ALLAN
Fine then, I'll pull rank itself.

				  DARREN
		Oh, hell.

				  ALLAN
		Lieutenant Commander Darren "Duke" Larson,
you are hereby ordered to Rearguard Outpost
ARCTIS to test fly the GL-33, all weather,
all terrain, high speed, def-tac helicopter.
There is no choice or alternate option
available to you. You leave in one hour.

JAMES LARDIN (late thirties, handsome, tall) hurries in.

				  JAMES (O/C)
		Allan!

				  DARREN
ARCTIS!? What the hell do you want me to do
		with the GL-33 there?

				  JAMES
			 (out of breath)
Did you know the military was called out to
		handle the flood down south?

				  ALLAN
		Yes, about two hours ago.

				  JAMES
Well, they went to the edge of the danger
zone and stopped. A few armed units went in on
their own, otherwise the situation is really on
		the verge of mass critical.

				  ALLAN
Well, it looks like you have something to do
		with the GL-33 after all.

				  DARREN
		You can't be serious!

				  ALLAN
You leave in 57 minutes as of now.

				  DARREN
		Allan!

				  ALLAN
		56 minutes, 51 seconds.

Darren storms off.

				  ALLAN
		Oh, and Duke...

				  DARREN
		What?

				  ALLAN
		Have a good trip.

				  DARREN
		Yeah, yeah.

Darren walks off in a huff.

				  JAMES
		Somebody's not happy.

				  ALLAN
We all want to be at the wedding.

				  JAMES
(pulling papers from his jacket pocket)
Oh, speaking of the wedding... Interim Captain
		Chris Bender arrives tomorrow.

				  ALLAN
Good. We better be on our way.

James and Allan leave.

EXT. ARCTIS - DAY

Establishing shot traveling the perimeter of the outpost and stopping on a satellite
dish. There is a strong wind with drifting snow.

				  RADIO#1 (O/C)
That's a roger, Cliffhanger 19. We will follow
		through on your flight corridor.

				  RADIO#2 (O/C)
		Have a good flight home.

				  RADIO#1 (O/C)
We'll do that. Thank you, over and out.

				  RADIO#2 (O/C)
Roger, line secured for any other communications.

INT. ARCTIS OFFICE - DAY

ECU of lips moving in conjunction with the voice. ELPHONSIS (late forties, rigid,
tough) is sitting at his desk.

				  ELPHONSIS
Commander's log, continued time. Nightsail 56
reported on schedule with no complications.

A small tape recorder is recording.

				  ELPHONSIS
Defense status of Command Seven Rearguard
Outpost ARCTIS remains secure and reports no
problems as of the last update with Command
Seven Station BLUECASTLE. We have noted heavy
traffic reports concerning aircraft moving up
and down corridors between Command Seven
		Flagbase CASTLEGUARD and Station BLUECASTLE.
However, we attribute this to the Captain's
Wedding, which we have full intentions of
		watching via telecast.

Elphonsis turns the recorder off.

				  ELPHONSIS
		Younger!

YOUNGER (mid twenties, thin, tall) enters the Office.

				  YOUNGER
		Yes, Commander?

				  ELPHONSIS
What's on for the chow line?

				  YOUNGER
We think it's meat-loaf, but we aren't really
		too sure.

Elphonsis straightens some papers on his desk.

				  ELPHONSIS
Hmm. Might as well get something to eat before
		the wedding.

				  YOUNGER
		Yes, Sir.

				  ELPHONSIS
		How long until it's on?

				  YOUNGER
		About twenty-five minutes, Sir.

				  ELPHONSIS
		Well, let's get going.

They exit.

INT. ARCTIS CORRIDOR - DAY

Younger and Elphonsis walk out of the office and continue down the corridor. A light
scraping sound coming from outside can barely be heard. Suddenly, Elphonsis stops.
Younger follows suit more out of curiosity than anything else.

				  YOUNGER
		Sir, is there anything wrong?

The scraping is now louder and is coming from a bulkhead type door next to them.

				  ELPHONSIS
Tell me, Younger. What is the temperature out
		there?

				  YOUNGER
About negative 90 degrees without the windchill
		factor caused by the storm.

				  ELPHONSIS
		And with the storm?

				  YOUNGER
Well, as you know this is a freak storm and...

				  ELPHONSIS
				(losing patience)
		How cold?

				  YOUNGER
		About negative 110.

Suddenly, the door breaks its seal with a loud bang, and a blast of cold wind and
snow rush into the corridor. Silhouetted by hooded parkas and the general lighting
of the field lights, are the figures of about 50 men. Some gunfire and extreme chaos.

INT. CATHEDRAL - DAY

The Cathedral is filled to the limits. The wedding ceremony is waiting to begin. The
personnel from Command Seven are in ceremonial dress. Cassandera is dressed in a
specially made traditional wedding dress. James is Best Man. Everyone is here except
White. There is a growing impatience. Tom enters the wedding looking very nervous. He
crosses to Allan who has now joined James.

				  TOM
				(whispering)
Allan, I need to see you. It's important
		Team business.

				  ALLAN
		Tom, what is it?

Allan taps James on the arm as he begins to leave with Tom.

INT. ARCTIS LUNCHROOM - DAY

The television is showing the wedding. Dollying back reveals still steaming cups of
coffee and smoldering cigarettes on the lunch table in front of the t.v. The room has
been abandoned.

EXT. CATHEDRAL - DAY

Allan, Tom, and James are walking through the parking area.

				  TOM
We just received an emergency transmission
		from Distress One. Darren's preliminary
reports show that we should have been called
in two days ago. They need some pretty serious
		aid down there.

				  ALLAN
Alright, let's get it to them. Any word from
		Dave?

				  TOM
No, we still haven't been able to locate him.

				  ALLAN
That's not like him. Anything else?

				  TOM
Rearguard Outpost ARCTIS hasn't reported in
for its update. In fact, they have missed the
		last two consecutive updates.

				  JAMES
		Radio failure?

				  TOM
		Possible.

				  ALLAN
Why don't you send a patrol in to check on the
		situation.

				  JAMES
Are you going to handle Distress One personally?

				  ALLAN
I think that would be best. While I'm gone,
the Command will be yours until Captain Bender
		arrives.

Tom and Allan leave while James moves back inside.

EXT. WAREHOUSE - NIGHT

Two men, a DEALER (late thirties, grubby) and SAIDA (late fifties, thin, rough) are
waiting to enter a warehouse door.

				  DEALER
		Are you ready for this?

				  SAIDA
		Indeed, I ordered it.

				  DEALER
		Um, yeah.

The Dealer opens the door, and they step in.

INT. WAREHOUSE - NIGHT

In darkness.

				  DEALER
		Okay, here we go...now.

The lights come to life, and the sight of military trucks, jeeps, artillery, crates,
and helicopters fill the warehouse.

				  DEALER
There must be enough to stock an entire army.

				  SAIDA
		Very observant of you.

				  DEALER
		Uh, yeah.

Saida takes out an envelope.

				  SAIDA
As agreed, here is your payment. In this
envelope you will find a safety deposit box
number, and a key to coincide with it. In
the box you will find the number to a
special account in your name. All of the
		money is there.

				  DEALER
Uh, yeah. Well, it's been nice doing business
		with you.

Saida is not impressed, and remains silent.

				  DEALER
Uh, yeah. I'll just be going now.

As the Dealer turns to leave, he runs into a group of about 50 men. The Dealer looks
back at Saida in fear, then turns back to the group. A forced smile crosses his face.

				  DEALER
		Uh, your stuff is here.

Nobody moves for a few seconds. Suddenly, a shot rings out, and the Dealer falls to
the ground with a look of shock on his face. In the background Saida lowers his still
smoking pistol. The group begins to move toward the equipment. LT (late thirties,
tall, clean, tough) goes to Saida.

				  LT.
Do you want us to prepare for the attack now?

				  SAIDA
Prepare, but do not begin. I want the codes
		before we proceed any further.

				  LT.
		As you wish.

				  SAIDA
		Indeed.

EXT. ARCTIS - EARLY MORNING

A helicopter lands, and a pilot gets out. He runs to the Station entrance. There is a
sense of constant twilight here, but the weather is calm and clear. He enters the
Station.

INT. ARCTIS CORRIDOR - EARLY MORNING

The pilot climbs over a snowdrift in the corridor. He searches cautiously, finding
empty room after empty room. He comes to the empty lunchroom, and finally arrives at
the Command Centre.

INT. ARCTIS COMMAND CENTRE - EARLY MORNING

The Command Centre is empty except for a body slumped over the command panel. The
pilot reaches over and rolls the body onto the floor face up. It is Younger. The pilot
checks for wounds.

INT. BLUECASTLE COMMAND CENTRE - DAWN

James is at the Command console. Sam, Tom, Jessica, and Daryl are gathered around him.
They seem to be very tired, and are still in ceremonial dress uniforms, except for
Jessica, who is still in her dress worn the previous day. Cassandera is now wearing a
regular uniform. Suddenly, a beeping sound from the Command Console. James opens a
communication line.

				  A.T.C.(O/C)
Air Traffic Control here, Sir. North Ranger
		Three is now landing.

				  JAMES
		On my way.

He shuts the line off and rises to leave.

				  CASSANDERA
		What about Dave?

				  JAMES
Let me handle this first. If there's still
no word by the time I'm done we'll look into
		it. Okay?

				  CASSANDERA
No, it's not okay, but it's probably the best
I'm going to get from you.

				  JAMES
		Daryl, the Com. is yours.
				  (pause)
And Cassandera... Don't worry. He's fine.

Cassandera nods, and James leaves.

INT. BLUECASTLE SICKBAY - DAWN

James enters with Sam close behind. Younger is being strapped into a bed and several
devices are being connected.

				  JAMES
		Name?

				  SAM
		Younger.

				  JAMES
Younger, can you hear me? Younger?

				  YOUNGER
				(confused)
		Wh-where am I?

				  JAMES
You're fine. You're in the sickbay on BLUECASTLE.

Younger is obviously scared of something and is constantly looking around.

				  YOUNGER
				(paranoid)
		Who are you?

				  JAMES
I'm Commander James Lardin, Chief of Security.
This is Commander Sam Jackson. He handles the
		doctoring.

				  YOUNGER
				(excitedly)
Stop them, please! They have everybody! Marks,
Peters, even Elphonsis! You've got to stop
		them!

				  JAMES
Whoa, whoa, whoa now, easy does it. Stop who?

				  YOUNGER
				(rushing)
Give them all of it! Everything they ask for!
They are serious! They've got everybody!
Please get them back! Don't let them hurt them!
		Please!

				  JAMES
Don't worry, we will. Nobody is going to get
		hurt.

				  YOUNGER
				(breaking down)
They just came in and took everybody. Nobody
		had a chance.

				  JAMES
Who? Had a chance to do what?!

				  SAM
		James...

James look up. Sam gives James a warning signal that he has asked enough questions
for now. They both move to a corner of the room.

				  JAMES
		What do you think?

				  SAM
According to the emergency crew, severe
hypothermia, shock, a few cuts and bruises...
		a lot of psychological damage.

				  JAMES
How long until he's ready for more questions?

				  SAM
I don't know. James, you should know, he may
never be ready for more questions.

				  JAMES
		What?

				  SAM
Look at him. Does that look like an Officer
ready to supply a report in triplicate?

				  JAMES
		Do what you can.

Suddenly, the sound of the intercom can be heard.

				  JAMES
		Sickbay, Lardin here.

				  DARYL (O/C)
James, get up here, on the double.

				  JAMES
		What is it?

				  DARYL (O/C)
		Just move it, will you.

James runs out of the sickbay.

INT. BLUECASTLE COMMAND CENTRE - DAWN

James enters the Centre at a breakneck speed. Daryl is at the console with Tom and
Jessica near his shoulder. Cassandera looks very pale and worried, almost scared.
The others seem to also have traces of worry on their faces.

				  DARYL
		Go ahead Captive One.

				  SAIDA (O/C)
Roger, Command Seven. I assume that means
your Senior Officer is now on the air?

				  JAMES
		That is affirmative.

				  SAIDA (O/C)
Thank you. Senior Officer, we have your
entire ARCTIS crew. Their well-being depends
on your willingness to meet our demands. One,
dismantle your defensive gear at BLUECASTLE.
Two, have it packaged complete with assembly
blueprints and full instructions. Have the
package delivered to the following coordinates:
133 degrees 20 minutes North Latitude, by 44
degrees 26 minutes East Longitude. Three, no
attempt will be made to harm my Organization
or stop it. Four, locations of each and every
Command Seven installation will be made
available to us, complete with force strengths
and manpower. Believe me, if any of these
demands are not met in total honesty and to the
fullest possible extent, we will know.

INT. SAIDA'S COMMUNICATION CENTRE - DAWN

				  SAIDA
If we find that you have not met with our
demands in the manner we wish, your entire ARCTIS
crew will be executed and returned to you in
various forms of remains and transport. Your
deadline for action will be 24 hours.

INT. BLUECASTLE COMMAND CENTRE - DAWN

James fumbles for and slumps into a chair.

				  SAIDA (O/C)
Is there any questions or confusion?

James shakes his head and waves everyone away when the group looks at him.

				  JESSICA
How do we know you actually have what you say
		you have?

INT. SAIDA'S COMMUNICATION CENTRE - DAY

				  SAIDA
Indeed, I was so hoping you would ask that
question. We shall provide proof in our next
		transmission. Out.

INT. BLUECASTLE COMMAND CENTRE - DAWN

				  TOM
		What do we do now?

				  JAMES
		Wait.

INT. SAIDA'S COMMUNICATION CENTRE - DAY

				  SAIDA
Remember, I won't be here once this stage is
completed. If everything goes well, we will
not make contact for another 8 months. Do you
have the codes and tapes supplied by our source?

				  LT.
		Yes, Sir

				  SAIDA
Good. Be sure to remind our source of this
		information.

				  LT.
		I will, Sir.

				  SAIDA
		Indeed.

The two's attention is disrupted by a commotion at the Centre's entrance. A guard
ushers White in. White is nursing a headache.

				  SAIDA
Ah, Captain White. How are you?

Saida extends his hand. White looks at it, not meeting the gesture in any way. Saida
drops his hand.

				  SAIDA
I do hope there wasn't very much discomfort in
		your trip to join us.

				  WHITE
Who are you, and what do you want?

				  SAIDA
A man who gets right down to business. I like
		that in a man.

				  WHITE
Then stop wasting my time and get down to it.

				  SAIDA
Indeed. Well, I am the man behind the general
discomforts of your Team over the past two years.

				  WHITE
		What?

				  SAIDA
I'm the man who reorganized the Golliath Team
and Ditch Strike. Perhaps you remember them?

				  WHITE
Yeah, and we beat the sons-of-bitches into the
		ground.

				  SAIDA
A minor slip on our part. This time we will win.

				  WHITE
Oh? What makes this time so special?

				  SAIDA
		This.

Saida gives the LT. a signal to throw a switch. A monitor overhead shows the entire
ARCTIS crew is in a small room. White looks horrified, then manages to cover up his
expression as quickly as possible.

				  SAIDA
As you can see, the entire crew of one of your
Outposts is in a room secured and held by my
		forces.

				  WHITE
		So?

				  SAIDA
Here is a list of our demands that you are going
to help us achieve, or face the loss of an entire
crew. A loss you would be directly responsible for.

Saida hands White the list of demands.

				  WHITE
				(laughing)
You're a madman if you think I'll actually help
		you with this.

				  SAIDA
I'm not very used to being called a madman, and
I can assure you that your help has not only
been secured, but it has already been received.

				  WHITE
		What?

				  SAIDA
In addition to possessing your crew, I now also
possess their knowledge. This includes your
		personal access and activation codes.

				  WHITE
		You can't be serious.

				  SAIDA
I think you are now coming to see the light.

				  WHITE
What exactly am I supposed to do?

				  SAIDA
Nothing. This recording will do everything
for you. You will stay to hear your own orders,
		won't you?

				  WHITE
My options seem to be rather limited, now don't
		they.

				  SAIDA
		Indeed. You may begin, Lieutenant.

INT. BLUECASTLE COMMAND CENTRE - DAY

Everyone is waiting tensely. Suddenly, a voice.

				  RECORDING (O/C)
This is Lost Star to BLUECASTLE, come in
		BLUECASTLE.

There is a moment of shocked silence followed by a mad rush to answer the communication. Cassandera's voice overlaps the recording as it repeats.

				  RECORDING (O/C)
This is Lost Star to BLUECASTLE, come in
		BLUECASTLE.

				  CASSANDERA
		Let me get it.

Everyone backs away and lets Cassandera slip into the seat.

				  CASSANDERA
		This is BLUECASTLE, repeat identification,
		please.

INT. SAIDA'S COMMUNICATION CENTRE - DAY

				  WHITE
				(to self)
		Cass.

				  RECORDING
		Activate the following...

				  JAMES (O/C)
		We're ready, Dave.

White looks at Saida, the LT., then to the monitor.

				  RECORDING
		Operations: Step Down, and Safeguard.

INT. BLUECASTLE COMMAND CENTRE - DAY

				  JAMES
		Dave?

				  CASSANDERA
		What? What is it?

				  RECORDING (O/C)
Activation codes are being transmitted now.
		Lost Star, out.

INT. SAIDA'S COMMUNICATION CENTRE - DAY

White attempts to stand up but is forced back down by two guards.

				  WHITE
				(yelling)
		No!!

				  SAIDA
Come now, Captain. Let us refrain from
		dramatics, shall we.

INT. BLUECASTLE COMMAND CENTRE - DAY

				  CASSANDERA
		What are those Operations?

				  TOM
		Checking right now.

Tom continues to type on a computer.

				  JAMES
				(quietly to Tom)
		Where's Bender?

				  TOM
On his way. E.T.A. 2 hours. Here we are.
Operation Safeguard: This one activates all
defenses and instructs us not to negotiate.
We are to defend ourselves at all costs.

				  DARYL
		And Step Down?

				  TOM
				(confused)
		This can't be.

				  JAMES
		What is it?

				  TOM
Are you ready for this? Operation Step Down
gives us irreversible orders to mobilize all
Units, converge and destroy one target.

				  CASSANDERA
		What target, Tom?

				  TOM
The Captain himself. We are to mobilize
immediately and begin search procedures. Once
his position is established, we are to shoot
on sight. No rescue mission is to be attempted,
and we are to disregard any orders to the
contrary. The Captain is the only one who can
stop this, and he has to be at this computer. We
		have to kill the Captain.

				  JAMES
That means Operation Genesis will have to take
		place.

				  CASSANDERA
		Genesis? What is Genesis?

				  JAMES
About 3 months ago, Dave put a video together
		for your eyes only, Cassandera.

				  CASSANDERA
		So?

				  JAMES
I think you had better see it. Jessica, get
Cassandera the video. Tom, activate all forces.
Daryl, I want you to head up the Kill Team.

				  DARYL
		Right.

				  CASSANDERA
I can't believe you are actually going to go
through with this. This is not some animal
you're talking about, this is your friend! James,
you were his Best Man, and now you're planning
		his murder.

				  TOM
The codes check, Cass. It was Dave who gave
the orders, knowing full well that it was
irreversible. That must mean he's in some very
serious trouble. We aren't out to murder him,
we're trying to put him out of his misery. Now,
why don't you let Jessica take you home, and
you can view the tape we have for you.

				  CASSANDERA
Alright, Tom, but remember two things: don't
ever call me Cass., and don't expect me to sit
		back while you go hunting.

				  JAMES
		Cassandera Monchrief!

				  CASSANDERA
White! The name is Cassandera White!

				  JAMES
Alright. Second Captain White, may I remind
you that we are executing the First Captain's
orders, not our own. Given the chance we would
change them, gladly, if it were possible, which
it is not. We don't want it, he does.

There is a stunned silence before Cassandera nods.

				  CASSANDERA
You're right. I'm sorry. Come along, Jessica.
Let me see my late husband to be.

Cassandera exits with Jessica close behind. Jessica only gives the group a shrug
before she leaves. James sighs.

INT. SUB-STATION B-57 HOLDING CELL - DAY

White is sitting against the wall. He gets up and begins to check walls, and finally,
the door. The door swings open.

				  WHITE
Sure, Dave. Wait 3 hours before trying the
		door. Real intelligent.

INT. SUB-STATION B-57 HALLWAY - DAY

White emerges from the cell, and cautiously looks out. He sees an empty hallway.
Confusion crosses his face.

				  WHITE
		What the...

He runs down the the hall to an intersecting corridor. It too is empty.

INT. SUB-STATION B-57 COMMUNICATIONS ROOM - DAY

The room is dark. A door opens allowing some light in to show computers on a raised
platform. White enters the room, makes his way to the platform, and turns the
computers on. His face is illuminated by the screen. He looks shocked. From his
P.O.V. the words, "COMMAND SEVEN SUB-STATION B-57. COMPUTER CLASS 509 READY".
White makes a mad dash out the door.

EXT. SUB-STATION B-57 - DAY

The entrance door flies open as White bursts out. Out of breath, he walks slowly out
into the open area in front of him. He is in a large empty yard.

				  WHITE
		Oh, no.

A high angle shot behind White slowly cranes down to see the skyline in front. In the
centre is BLUECASTLE.

INT. BLUECASTLE COMMAND CENTRE - DAY

Christopher Bender arrives with the LT. and James close behind.

				  CHRISTOPHER
Have all other stations been notified?

				  JAMES
		Everybody. All bases, stations, sub-stations,
		patrols, etc.

				  CHRISTOPHER
Excellent. All code names and access codes for
		White have also been cancelled?

				  JAMES
Within ten minutes of finding out.

				  CHRISTOPHER
Alright then, here's what I want done.

Tom hurry's in.

				  TOM
		We've got him.

				  JAMES
		What?

				  TOM
		It's Dave. We've got his location. He's
alive and safe, just waiting to come home.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Do you have his position?

				  TOM
He's at the abandoned Sub-Station just east of
		here.

				  JAMES
I know the place. What the hell is he doing out
		there?

				  CHRISTOPHER
Inform him to be in an open position, and that
		help is on the way.

				  TOM
		Right away, Sir.

Tom exits.

				  CHRISTOPHER
You said you knew where this place was?

				  JAMES
		Yes.

				  CHRISTOPHER
Then you can lead my men to the location.

				  JAMES
What? What do you mean, "your men?"

				  CHRISTOPHER
I brought along an entire battalion of men in
		case anything like this arose.

				  JAMES
Well, I hardly think you'll need a battalion
		to pick up one man.

				  CHRISTOPHER
Who said anything about picking him up?

Christopher starts to leave, James is stunned and catches Christopher at the doorway.

				  JAMES
What the hell was that supposed to mean?

				  CHRISTOPHER
		I beg your pardon?

				  JAMES
What do you mean, "who said anything about
picking him up?" He's safe and waiting to
		come home.

				  CHRISTOPHER
I don't care if he's in his mother's arms. The
fact still remains that an order was given, and
until such time that computer tells me otherwise,
		it shall be carried out.

				  JAMES
		What are you saying?

				  CHRISTOPHER
We kill him. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have
		my Kill Team to coordinate.

				  JAMES
You really don't expect our people to do this,
do you? He's safe. There is no more danger.
Neither to him, nor the Team.

				  CHRISTOPHER
Wrong! The Team is his danger. And no, I don't
expect your men to partake in this Operation.
Instead, I'll have my own men do it. Now if
		you'll excuse me.

Christopher leaves. James is exasperated and frustrated.

INT. SUB-STATION B-57 COMMUNICATIONS ROOM - DAY

White leans back in a chair and punches a button. The computer beeps in response.
He wipes his eyes out of fatigue. When he refocuses his attention on the screen,
a look of concern crosses his face. From his P.O.V. the words, "DANGER! DANGER!
PERSONNEL IN CARGO ROOM 3. MEDICAL TEAM REQUIRED." White dashes out.

INT. SUB-STATION B-57 CORRIDOR/STAIRWELL - DAY

White is running down a corridor. He runs about ten feet past a door, then
suddenly, stops. He turns around and goes to the door, opens it, and goes into
the room. We HEAR sounds of boxes and shelves being tossed around without care
and even SEE the the odd box come flying out of the room. White emerges with a
first aid kit in one hand and a flashlight in the other. He dashes down the
corridor to a stairwell, down two flights of stairs, and through a door.

INT. SUB-STATION B-57 CARGO AREA - DAY

White arrives at a bulkhead door with "CARGO ROOM 3" painted on it in white
lettering. There are two lights above it, one red and one green. The red one is
on. White goes over to a small computer panel next to the door and starts to punch
in a set of digits. The computer responds with, "WHAT IS YOUR COMMAND?" White
answers as he types.

				  WHITE
		Shut down Cargo Room 3.

The computer carries on with, "WHAT AUTHORITY ARE YOU USING?"

				  WHITE
		Medical Override.

The computer asks, "PLEASE IDENTIFY AND ENTER PROPER ACCESS CODE." White punches in,
"WHITE-6043286272LEADER." The computer responds, "CODE NO LONGER IN SERVICE. ACCESS
DENIED. COMMAND DENIED."

				  WHITE
		What?!

The computer asks again, "WHAT IS YOUR COMMAND?" White slams the handle of the
flashlight into the monitor.

				  WHITE
Fuck you. Sometimes I hate computers.

White takes the flashlight and looks around. He sees a glass panel marked,
"EMERGENCY USE ONLY - ALARM WILL SOUND." He takes the first aid box and smashes
the glass panel. Suddenly, an alarm and a set of flashing red lights start up.
White gets into a chemical spill suit and pulls another box from a shelf behind
the broken glass. The box is marked, "DANGER - EXPLOSIVES." He takes a small
handful of putty type substance from the box, places it on a spot on the bulkhead,
puts a receiver in it, takes a transmitter, steps around the corner, turns on the
transmitter and pushes the "ARM" button. The transmitter glows yellow with the
caution light. He then activates the "FIRE" button. The transmitter fire light goes
red and we cut to the bulkhead to see an explosion rip some of the metal away.
After the explosion, White goes back to the cabinet and pulls out a handgun. With
the medical kit under his left arm, the flashlight in his left hand, and the gun in
his right hand, he carefully opens the bulkhead door. With the pulse of the flashing
red light on the smoke, he enters the room.

INT. SUB-STATION B-57 CARGO ROOM 3 - DAY

As White enters, he is horrified to see the crew of ARCTIS, literally stacked on top
of each other. There is an unnatural green hue on or about them. Elphonsis' body falls
on White as he enters the room. White jumps away in fear, then tries to calm down. He
looks at the body.White shines his flashlight around the room until it rests on a pipe
that has a steady stream of greenish cloud coming from it. The pipe is marked, "TOXIC
CHEMICAL - DANGER." It is now that we can ever so faintly HEAR the sound of helicopter
blades. White runs his hand over Elphonsis' face, closing his eyes, then exits.

INT. HELICOPTER - DAY

The pilots P.O.V. as the helicopter touches down and the side doors roll back.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Let's move! Go! Go! Go!

A group of ten men bail out of the helicopter and move toward the building.

				  CHRISTOPHER
Dust off, I'll watch this one from above.

The pilot nods.

EXT. SUB-STATION B-57 - DAY

The helicopter lifts off.

INT. HELICOPTER - DAY

Christopher moves into the now empty cargo area where James is.

				  CHRISTOPHER
This ought to be fairly good, don't you think?

				  JAMES
Does it really matter what I think?

EXT. SUB-STATION B-57 - DAY

The Kill Team scrambles up to the door, gives a silent count of three, then kicks the
door open. The Team rushes in.

INT. SUB-STATION B-57 - DAY

At the far end of the corridor, White steps into view.

				  WHITE
		Hey, over...

A look of fear crosses Whites' face as the Kill Team takes quick aim and begins to fire.
White dives out of the way, narrowly missing the barrage.

				  K.T.#1
Scatter, two by two, maximum of ten ahead.

The Team moves cautiously down the corridor until they reach the intersection where White
was. Two men go in one direction, one about 10 meters ahead of the other, while the rest
go the opposite direction. The rest arrive at another intersection with a stairwell
leading down to the next level. The Kill Team split up and take the new directions
available to them. The first Team of two are cautiously moving down the first corridor with
the lead man in view. The second man turns to scan the area behind him. As the first man
passes, White silently sneaks out from hiding. The second man catches White out of the
corner of his eye and turns quickly, opening fire.

				  K.T.#2
				(yelling)
		Look out behind you!

White ducks extremely low, and lets the second man's fire rip into the first man, while
letting loose with 3 shots of his own, directed at the second man. Both men fall to the
ground dead. White moves quickly to another stairwell that goes down. Another pair is
moving down a hallway, almost back to back. A pair of hands tie a piece of thread to the
fire switch on an already armed transmitter. White straightens up and jogs down the hall.

INT. SUB-STATION B-57 COMMUNICATIONS ROOM - DAY

White enters the room again, and begins to type on the computer.

INT. HELICOPTER - DAY

				  PILOT
		Incoming message, Sir.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Put it through.

The pilot flicks a few switches.

				  CHRISTOPHER

		Bender here, go ahead.

				  ALLAN (O/C)
This is Commander Allan Stratford at
CASTLEGUARD. We have been following your Kill
Operation, and thought you might like to know
that we've picked up a self destruct signal
		from Sub-Station B-57.

Christopher has a look of panic.

				  ALLAN (O/C)
Like I said, just thought you might like to know.

				  CHRISTOPHER
				(yelling)
Get those men out of there!

				  PILOT
		What?

James sits up taking sudden interest.

				  CHRISTOPHER
You heard me. Patch me through, damn it!

The Pilot doesn't respond.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Now!

The Pilot scrambles over the switches.

				  PILOT
Yes, Sir! Ready, Sir! You're patched.

				  CHRISTOPHER
Bender to Kill Team. Bender to Kill Team.
Evacuate. I repeat, evacuate! Self destruct
		sequence activated.

INT. SUB-STATION B-57 STAIRWELL - DAY

The Kill Team Leader stops and grabs the radio.

CHRISTOPHER (O/C)
Get the hell out of there!

				  K.T.#1
				(yelling)
		You heard the man, move!

The pair on the lower level stop . The lead man looks down to see the thread. As he
tries to move away, he trips the trigger. The transmitter glows red for a split
second, then an explosion. The remaining Kill Team members meet and run for their
lives.

EXT. SUB-STATION B-57 - DAY

They dive out the entrance as the helicopter lands.

				  K.T.#1
				(to Bender)
Explosion on lower level! Move it! Move it!
		Time's almost up!

INT. SUB-STATION B-57 - DAY

White is at a door. He looks over his shoulder, and then opens the door. He dashes
out the door.

EXT. SUB-STATION B-57 - DAY

The final few men of the Kill Team are piling into the helicopter.

				  K.T.#1
Move it! Move it! Move it!

An aerial shot shows the men getting into the helicopter, and White disappearing into
the nearby woods out back.

INT. HELICOPTER - DAY

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Did you kill White?

				  K.T.#1
		No.

				  CHRISTOPHER
No?! What the hell were you doing in there?

Suddenly, an extreme explosion where Sub-Station used to be.

INT. BLUECASTLE WAR ROOM - DAY

A fist hits a shiny black table top, loudly. Cassandera, Sam, James, Tom, Jessica,
Daryl, and the LT. are gathered around the table. Christopher is pacing and
obviously not happy.

				  CHRISTOPHER
Damn it! He should be eliminated by now!
James, I thought you said all access codes had
		been cancelled!

				  CASSANDERA
Look at it this way, Captain. It is no longer
		your responsibility.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Excuse me?

				  CASSANDERA
In case you haven't heard, I'm now in charge.
The Captain left a set of orders 3 months ago
noting that I should take Command in a
		situation like this.

				  CHRISTOPHER
Invalid, Captain. In case you have forgotten, I
received my orders no more than 2 weeks ago.
Therefore, your orders are obsolete. Besides,
you should know as well as I, that these
circumstances are unique. They do not allow any
other orders to be recognized should they
conflict in any way with the original orders.

				  CASSANDERA
Orders this, orders that. I never thought I'd
hear myself saying this, but to hell with
orders. You know as well as I do that you are
		holding on to a technicality!

				  CHRISTOPHER
Captain, I am the only Senior Officer who can
handle this job. You, I'm afraid, would be like
the others of your Team, emotionally swayed. I
will not. This disqualifies all of you from the
potential position of Command for the duration
		of this crisis.

				  TOM
		He's right, Cassandera.

				  CASSANDERA
		Shut up, Tom.

				  SAM
What's next? Can he come home now?

				  CHRISTOPHER
Definitely not! He's already proven himself
		dangerous.

				  JESSICA
What do you expect? He was being shot at!

				  CHRISTOPHER
He's an armed and dangerous fugitive, and will
		be treated as such.

				  DARYL
Like the man said, what's the next move?

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Martial Law.

				  ALL
		What?!!

				  CHRISTOPHER
Orders are specific. Mobilize all available
forces. Do anything possible, and that's
exactly what I intend on doing. All personnel
stationed here will be supervised by my men
from the TEMPEST. I want curfew from 21:00
hours until 08:00 hours. I want river patrols,
foot patrols, air patrols, and 2 guards on
every street corner no more than three blocks
apart. I want this man dead! Any further
arguments or interference in any way, will be
noted as insubordination and result in
immediate Court Martial. I don't have time for
old loyalties, only present orders. Understood?

There is no answer.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Good. We start now.

EXT. SKYLINE OF CITY - DUSK

An air raid siren starts, followed by a Radio Announcer with the music, "GONE" in the
background.

				  RADIO ANNOUNCER
This just in. Curfew has been sanctioned by
both the Mayor and Command Seven representatives.
Everyone is told to stay indoors between 9 P.M.
and 8 A.M.. The missing man, Captain David
White of Command Seven, is noted as armed and
extremely dangerous and what is now being called
the largest and most intricate manhunt in the
		world, is now under way...

EXT. VARIOUS CITY - NIGHT

"GONE" comes to full. There are empty night filled streets, and it is just starting
to rain. White makes his way through some mud, branches, and bush. A military truck
stops and two men get out of the back, the truck moves on, and stops about three
blocks away, letting another two men get out. Two children are peering through a
living room window at the men until their mother ushers them away and closes the
curtains.

INT. BLUECASTLE OFFICE - NIGHT

Cassandera is sitting at a desk. She is in a deep trance. Her thoughts are disturbed
when Sam serves her a cup of tea. She looks up, smiles, accepts the tea, then goes
back into her trance.

INT. HELICOPTER - NIGHT

Rain is streaking off the windscreen and the wipers are in use. In the back are three
men. One man is watching an infrared scanner, and the other two are scanning out
windows on either side.

EXT. WHITE'S YARD - NIGHT

White enters his yard. He stops, and is out of breath, cold, and wary. His home is
black.

INT. WHITE'S DEN - NIGHT

White is standing at the window.

INT. BLUECASTLE OFFICE - NIGHT

Cassandera is also standing at a window. It is almost as if her and White are actually
looking at each other over the distance between them.

INT. WHITE'S LIVING ROOM - NIGHT

On the table is an invitation to White's wedding. We dolly back to see the tape marked,
"OPERATION GENESIS." Close up on White, then back to the tape.

INT. BLUECASTLE OFFICE - NIGHT

Cassandera is now sitting in a chair, huddled in a ball. Suddenly, she gets up, puts on
her jacket, goes to the doorway, looks back, shuts off the light and closes the door as
she leaves.

INT. WHITE'S KITCHEN - NIGHT

White is sitting at the kitchen table writing a note.

INT. CASSANDERA'S CAR - NIGHT

Cassandera is driving her car through the empty, wet streets. It has stopped raining now.

INT. WHITE'S BEDROOM - NIGHT

White opens the closet door. He then opens a false panel and pulls out a 9mm handgun, a
semi-automatic rifle, ammunition for both, spare clips, a knife, and a backpack.

INT. WHITE'S KITCHEN - NIGHT

White leaves through the back door, shutting the lights off, and closing the door.

EXT. WHITE'S YARD - NIGHT

White disappears into the dark of the backyard.

EXT. WHITE'S DRIVEWAY - NIGHT

Cassandera arrives at the house. She parks in the driveway, turns the car off, and the
headlights go dark.

INT. CASSANDERA'S CAR - NIGHT

Cassandera is at the wheel, tears on her face. She is fighting to keep control. She wipes
tears off her face, and gets out of the car.

EXT. WHITE'S DRIVEWAY - NIGHT

Cassandera walks toward the back door.

EXT. WHITE'S YARD - NIGHT

Cassandera arrives at the back door. She pulls out her keys and stops. She rests her head
on the door and lightly touches the door with a clenched fist. Cassandera then breaks into
a renewed wave of tears.

INT. WHITE'S KITCHEN - NIGHT

Cassandera enters and closes the door. She crosses to the counter and looks out a window
above the counter. She takes a deep breath of control once again, turns around and sees the
note on the table with a ring on it. She brings her hands to her face and takes a quick
breath of shock and fear. Slowly, she crosses to the table and reads the note, without
touching it. It reads, "I understand. I'm never gone. Love Dave." We SEE his engagement ring
on the note. She shakes her head in denial. Although her lips are saying, "No", her voice is
choked out by a new and almost devastating wave of pain and tears.

EXT. WHITE'S YARD - NIGHT

White is crouched in the bushes along the perimeter of the backyard. He moves into the darkness
after obviously watching her. Music ends.

INT. BLUECASTLE COMMAND CENTRE - NIGHT

Daryl, Sam, Tom, James, and Jessica are gathered. Suddenly, Cassandera bursts onto the Command
Centre.

				  CASSANDERA
		Sam! James! Somebody!

				  SAM
		Cassandera, easy. What is it?

				  CASSANDERA
		He's alive. He's escaped, and he's safe. I
		can prove it!

				  JESSICA
		What?

				  DARYL
		How?

				  CASSANDERA
He was at our house. He left a note. Nothing
about his next move, but he left a note and
		his engagement ring as proof.

Cassandera holds out his ring.

				  CASSANDERA
He's safe! Can we stop all of this nonsense
		now, please?

				  TOM
How do we know it wasn't planted?

				  CASSANDERA
		Damn it, Tom!

				  TOM
Somebody forces him to write the note, or
forges the note themselves, then takes his
		ring.

				  CASSANDERA
		I can't believe you!

				  TOM
Sorry, but as Head of Intelligence I can't
tell Bender that the Operation is invalid on
something as flimsy as this. Nobody can.

				  CASSANDERA
		But...

				  CHRISTOPHER
		He's right, Captain.

Christopher is leaning on the edge of the doorway.

				  CHRISTOPHER
As for his next move, it really doesn't matter,
		now does it.

				  DARYL
I think I'll join the patrols.

				  JESSICA
		I think I'll join you.

				  CASSANDERA
I think I'll go back out myself. James, I want
you to keep me informed about any developments.

				  CHRISTOPHER
Don't cross me, Captain. You're verging on
		mutiny.

				  CASSANDERA
Then stay out of my way. James, you have your
		orders.

James and the others leave.

EXT. STREET - NIGHT

A single patrol car is slowly driving. D#1 is at the wheel.

INT. PATROL CAR - NIGHT

Both men are carefully searching.

				  D#1
		I don't get it. Supposedly, it's just a rumor.

				  D#2
Rumor? Rumor is when you hear it second hand.
Fact is when you have an eye witness. We've
		got plenty of those.

				  D#1
		That's why I don't get it. What's more, I don't
like it. If they've seen him, then why are we
		out here?

				  D#2
Orders are orders, and we've got our own to
		worry about.

				  D#1
		I know, but...

				  D#2
		Hey, what's that?

				  D#1
		What?

				  D#2
I thought I saw something move down there.

				  D#1
		Where?

				  D#2
There. Those garbage cans near the back alley.

				  D#1
		I don't see... wait a minute.

As White dashes from the cans, we SEE his silhouette.

				  D#1
		That's him. We've got him.

While D#2 turns on a hand-held spotlight, D#1 speaks into a radio microphone. D#2
pulls out his gun.

				  D#1
This is TEMPEST Unit 26. We have visual i.d.
of White in section 19 Alpha. In pursuit.
		Request backup.

				  DISPATCHER (O/C)
This is Kill Centre. We copy. Dispatching a
high speed response unit to your area.

EXT. STREET - NIGHT

White jumps out of the line of sight of the patrol car. As the car turns the corner
into the alleyway, D#2 shines the light in Whites' direction.

INT. PATROL CAR - NIGHT

				  D#2
		Where did he go?

				  D#1
I don't know. I think I saw him take cover on
		your side.

				  D#2
		Okay. Let's go slow.

				  D#1
		Right.

EXT. ALLEY - NIGHT

The patrol car moves slowly down the alley while D#2 continues to shine his
spotlight around. White is crouched behind a fence. He is out of breath. His
hand is near a set of large rocks and bricks. As the car gets closer, White
loses his balance. He steadies himself on the pile of rocks. A look of
realization crosses his face. He picks up a rock and hurls it at a garbage can
across and further down the alley.

INT. PATROL CAR - NIGHT

				  D#2
		Hear that?

				  D#1
		Yeah, where was it?

				  D#2
Your side, about half way down.

The car speeds up a bit. The two men have their faces illuminated by the lights
of the instrument panel.

EXT. ALLEY - NIGHT

The patrol car moves toward our P.O.V. and continues until the cars' left hand
front quarter panel almost fills the shot. Another can is hit by a rock.

INT. PATROL CAR - NIGHT

				  D#1
Where the hell is he now?

				  D#2
		He's behind us!

We HEAR another can being hit.

				  D#1
No way! That's on your side out front!

As D#1 goes to speak into his microphone, another can is hit.

				  D#1
This is TEMPEST Unit 26! Where's our backup?!

Another can is hit.

				  D#2
		Where the hell is he?!

EXT. ALLEY - NIGHT

A rock hits the car.

INT. PATROL CAR - NIGHT

				  D#1
		Shit, he hit the car!

				  D#2
		He's playing with us!

Another two cans are hit simultaneously. Suddenly two rocks come through the back
window.

				  D#1
		Holy shit!

				  D#2
		Roll! Roll!

				  D#1
		I'm rolling! I'm rolling!

EXT. ALLEY - NIGHT

The patrol car spins its back tires and races backwards in its retreat. It comes to a
squealing halt at the mouth of the alley. Both men cautiously open their doors and
get out with their guns drawn. They wait. The silence of the night has returned.
Suddenly, a car comes squealing around the corner and races to a screeching stop.
Two men emerge.

				  D#3
		What's wrong?

				  D#1
		You our backup?

				  D#3
		You better believe it.

				  D#1
		We've got White.

				  D#3
Like hell you do. White's just been spotted
		about 3 blocks from here.

				  D#2
		Son of a bitch!

All of the men scramble back to their cars.

				  D#1
		Are you going after him?

				  D#3
Can't. Trouble on the south side.

				  D#1
		Need help?

				  D#3
Scared to go up against White?

				  D#1
		Aren't you?

				  D#3
		Follow us.

They get into their cars and race off.

EXT. ANOTHER STREET - NIGHT

White is running hard, and is gasping for air. He pushes himself further and further.
Suddenly, a squad car comes around a corner and stops in his path. Two men get out
with their weapons drawn. More sirens can be heard in the distance getting closer.
White stops running, quickly looks around him, and starts to move in a different
direction. From his P.O.V. another two cars come racing around the corner. He quickly
looks to his left. From his P.O.V. flashing lights of another responding car arrive.
Finally, he is about to move in the last direction available when a group of about 10
men run to form a skirmish line. White is scrambling in both thought and movement.

INT. TEMPEST CAR - NIGHT

A TEMPEST driver is using a radio. His partner is nearby.

				  TEMPEST#1
Control, we have White and will bring his
		body in momentarily.

He puts his microphone on his seat.

				  TEMPEST#1
		Let's have some fun.

EXT. ANOTHER STREET - NIGHT

Suddenly, White unslings his rifle. He races over to a manhole cover, and puts the
barrel of the rifle into a small hole in the cover2. A shot rings out, and rips into
his thigh. White yells out in agony as he falls to the ground. 2Shots are coming in
at a faster rate and randomly. They ricochet off the pavement all around White.
Finally, one of the bullets hits the pavement near his face, sending broken bits into
White's face. He yells out again, quickly covers his face, and suddenly, pulls out his
handgun. White returns fire. Immediately 5 of the 10 men drop, and the TEMPEST#1 man
also meets with the same fate. White continues to fire. He moves toward the remaining
five men who are trying to run away. All 5 fall dead. White moves his aim feverishly
back to the car, where the TEMPEST#1 partner is moving for the radio. As White takes
aim, the man freezes, paralyzed with fear. White pulls the trigger. There is an empty
click, signalling he is out of ammunition. Quickly, White drops the empty clip and
slams a full one in. Meanwhile, the partner tries to remove his pistol and again goes
for the radio. White lets off a shot that tears through the car door and finds its mark
in the partner. Another car comes directly at White. White lets off two rounds at the
driver and sends the car into a tree. The third car comes to a halt. White is trying to
keep in control of the pain as he pushes himself into a standing position, using the
rifle as a crutch. The driver of the third car shoots, wounding White. This time the
bullet catches him in the mid section, sending him reeling to the ground. As White rolls
with the momentum created by the hit, he lets out a barrage on the car. It explodes into
a ball of flames. The last of the cars comes to a squealing stop as White, once again,
pushes himself into a standing position. His eyes are wild, and it is obvious that all
forms of rational thought are gone. White, again, looks like a wounded animal, ready and
more than willing to fight. Suddenly, White pulls the rifle out from under himself.
Instead of using it as a crutch, he aims it at the last car and empties the entire clip
into the car's direction.

				  D#4
		Shit!

				  D#5
Get out of here! Move! Move! Move!

The car speeds away backwards. It goes into a self induced reverse 180 degree spin. When
the firing stops, there is only the sound of the fire from the car. There is no movement.
White moves slowly, painfully, over to the first car. He has temporarily regained his
senses, and at the sight of the partner, is filled with fear at actually having done this.
White looks around at the aftermath surrounding him. He then looks back to the partner who
is dead on the front seat. White leans against the car and begins to cry. Suddenly, a
surviving man from the group of 10 men, moves toward White.

				  SURVIVOR
				(yelling)
		Freeze!

Suddenly, White throws himself forward trying to avoid potential fire, and yelling at the
same time in fear, anger, pain, shock, and terror. As he throws himself forward, he lets
loose with his handgun, emptying the entire clip into the survivor. The survivor slides
down a tree, dying as he gets closer to the ground. When the Survivor is resting on the
ground, White pushes himself into a run, again out of pure fear, into the darkness.

INT. BLUECASTLE WAR ROOM -NIGHT

Christopher is there with Sam, James, LT., and Tom.

				  CHRISTOPHER
That does it. I want everything we have out
there! I want this thing over and done with as
soon as possible! Triple all patrols. Curfew is
now 24 hours a day, until this is over. Only
essential services will be allowed to continue.
Even then I will only allow skeleton crews into
		work.

				  TOM
		What?

				  CHRISTOPHER
You heard me! Make the announcement that all
businesses are now under a forced holiday.
Turn anyone who goes out to work, right around.
Anybody who is caught in the streets without
passes will be brought in for questioning. I
		want those streets completely empty!

				  SAM
		Why?

				  CHRISTOPHER
Doctor, would you say that what White just did
was an act of rational behavior?

				  SAM
		Given the circumstances...

				  CHRISTOPHER
Exactly! He's wounded. He's being pushed, and
		he's trying to survive. He's a renegade! He's
acting like an animal, and may I remind you all,
there is nothing more dangerous than a wounded
		animal.

				  SAM
Why do you want him dead so much?

				  CHRISTOPHER
I'm following orders, my dear Doctor. Something
that you and every other member of this Team
		should quickly learn.

				  TOM
Don't worry, Captain. We know how to do our
jobs, and we will act just like we were trained.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		And how is that, Commander?

				  TOM
		The White way.

Tom leaves, followed by the others, except the LT.

EXT. GAS STATION - NIGHT

White limps toward the main booth and slumps against it. It is obvious he is in
tremendous pain. There seems to be traces of desperation and fear in his manner,
but for the most part he seems to have calmed down and regained full use of his
senses. He looks around, relaxes, and pulls out the empty clips and reloads them.
White now begins to tend to his wounds. As he pulls away his shirt, the wound to
the right edge of his midsection is open and bleeding. His right thigh is in the
same state.

				  WHITE
		Damn.

White looks around again, and then at the booth he is leaning against. He forces
himself up and looks in2. White takes his knife, and cuts through a gas pump hose,
until he has severed the metal handle from the rest of the unit. The hose falls to
the ground, leaking a steady stream of gasoline. White crosses to the door of the
booth and breaks his way into the station.

INT. GAS STATION - NIGHT

White goes over to the shelf, and takes a roll of duct tape to tape both of his
wounds closed. He pulls out several glass bottles of Coke and opens them. White
lets them drain out onto the floor. Meantime, he grabs a bottle of Coke for himself.
As he drinks, he takes his knife and rags, and begins to cut them into strips. He
activates all the pumps at the control console.

EXT. GAS STATION - NIGHT

White now fills the empty Coke bottles with gasoline, and puts a strip in each,
recapping when done. He heads back to the booth.

INT. GAS STATION - NIGHT

White puts the bottles into his backpack, which is still filled with excess
ammunition. He grabs a handful of "Oh Henry" bars and lighters, and also places a
handful of flares in the pack. White keeps one bar, one lighter, and five bottles,
making sure everything else is in the pack. He lights the five strips. The strips
burn.

EXT. GAS STATION - NIGHT

White steps out of the booth with the five lit bottles. Suddenly, he throws all five
of the bottles toward the pump area. They impact and explode. It is then that several
armed men, who were in hiding, come out either engulfed in flames or else narrowly
missing the results of the explosion. As White moves toward the camera with the burning
gas station in the background, shouts, yells, and cries of orders and pain can be heard.
A helicopter is now overhead.

INT. HELICOPTER - NIGHT

Allan and Darren are listening to radio transmissions.

				  VOICE#1 (O/C)
He was here! He was here!

				  VOICE#2 (O/C)
		Where?

				  VOICE#1 (O/C)
Section K-142. I repeat, Kilo 1-4-2. My, God,
you should see this place. You'd better
dispatch medics to this sector, and ready all
		burn units.

Allan and Darren look at each other.

				  DARREN
Sounds like he's officially declared war.

EXT. GAS STATION - NIGHT

As the helicopter leaves, the chaos is still going on.

EXT. ROAD - NIGHT

White is struggling down a road that has trees along both sides. Suddenly, White throws
himself behind a tree, as a Lamborghini speeds by with its lights flashing. It turns a
corner. White looks in all directions and starts to move again. White arrives at an
intersection. He crouches painfully, and looks around, again in all directions. He
crosses the street. In the distance helicopter blades are heard. White doesn't seem to
comprehend it until he is suddenly in the midst of a bright spotlight. White takes out
his pistol and lets loose with a barrage directed at the helicopter. Most of the bullets
find their mark in the helicopter skin, except one, that makes a small starburst on the
helicopter bulletproof windscreen.

INT. HELICOPTER - NIGHT

				  DARREN
		Whoa!

				  ALLAN
Patch the p.a. Let him know that it's us.

				  DARREN
		Right.

Darren throws a few switches.

				  DARREN
This is Commander's Larson and Stratford. Cease
		fire! I repeat, cease fire!

EXT. ROAD - NIGHT

White takes his rifle and begins firing. This time he manages to take out the
spotlight.

INT. HELICOPTER - NIGHT

				  ALLAN
		He never did listen well.

EXT. ROAD - NIGHT

The helicopter pulls away and stops at a distance as White watches. Voices are heard
in the background.

				  VOICE#3 (O/C)
Over here! I heard the shots over here!

				  VOICE#4 (O/C)
		Move slow.

				  VOICE#5 (O/C)
Be sure to shoot as soon as you see him!

				  VOICE#6 (O/C)
Don't give him a chance, 'cause he won't give
		you one.

				  VOICE#7 (O/C)
Cut the chatter, and get moving!

White takes his rifle, and again finds a manhole cover. He opens it this time using
the barrel end. White is successful, and he lowers himself into the hole and
replaces the cover.

INT. SEWER - NIGHT

White slowly lowers himself into waist high water. He pulls out a flare and lights it.
White looks at a compass on his knife handle. Once he gets his bearings, he begins to
move. He continues his way through the underground maze.

				  WHITE
		I hate this job.

Finally, White arrives at a ladder. He begins to climb. His wounds are bothering him
to such a degree that he is no longer using his right leg. At the top, he forces open
the cover, and gets out.

EXT. TWO LEVEL BRIDGE - EARLY MORNING

White is at the end of a two level bridge spanning a river. The bridge is completely
void of movement.

				  WHITE
		I don't like this.

White moves to the top part of the bridge, takes a moment to catch his breath, then
begins to cross. Sounds of wind rushing by White as he crosses the bridge. As White
reaches the centre of the bridge he looks up river. In the twilight of dawn, 2
helicopters are flying up the river valley with their spotlights on. They come toward
White at a high speed. He looks in all directions for an escape route, then to the
river far below.

				  WHITE
		Shit!

Before he can do anything, the helicopters are hovering a few meters away. White is
paralyzed with fear. The helicopter communications can be heard through the p.a. system.

				  TEMP.PILOT#1 (O/C)
This is 9 Alpha 5. We've got White on the
		High Level Bridge. Please advise.

				  DISPATCHER (O/C)
		Kill him!

Suddenly, White jumps backward at the same instance 4 rockets race away from the
helicopters. Three rockets impact in the water, and only one hits the bridge. A
third helicopter rises up from the other side of the bridge. All action seems to
be suspended for a few seconds after its appearance. Suddenly, White jumps through the
newly created hole in the bridge to the bottom level. At the same instance the third
helicopter fires a rocket of its own, catching one of the two original helicopters.

INT. HELICOPTER#1 - EARLY MORNING

				  TEMP.PILOT#1
Mayday. Mayday. We've been hit. We're going down.

				  DISPATCHER (O/C)
		Roger, rescue being dispatched.

EXT. TWO LEVEL BRIDGE - EARLY MORNING

White lands on the bottom of the bridge. Instead of rolling out of the fall, he falters
in agony of the strain on his wounds. White forces himself into a standing position
screaming instructions at himself.

				  WHITE
Get up! Damn you! Move it! Damn you, run!
Run like you've never run before! Move your
		fucking ass!

White begins to half limp, half run to the other side of the bridge. The two remaining
helicopters face off against each other. The second helicopter fires at the third
helicopter. It misses. The two helicopters begin to fly around the bridge from side to
side and top to bottom.

INT. HELICOPTER#2 - NIGHT

				  TEMP.PILOT#2
Where is he? Where is he? I can't see him!

INT. HELICOPTER - NIGHT

				  DARREN
Open a line for them to hear.

				  ALLAN
		What are you doing?

				  DARREN
		Showing strategic mercy.

				  ALLAN
		Line open.

				  DARREN
				(imitating John Wayne)
Kid, this is the other helicopter. Come down
		here.

EXT. TWO LEVEL BRIDGE - NIGHT

The second helicopter loses altitude and hovers at the same level as Darren's.

INT. HELICOPTER#2 - NIGHT

				  TEMP.PILOT#2
Hold it, there he is. What is he up to?

				  DARREN (O/C)
				(imitating John Wayne)
I'll tell ya, kid. I'll tell ya what I'm gonna
do. I'm not gonna shoot ya. I'm not gonna shoot
		ya.

EXT. TWO LEVEL BRIDGE - NIGHT

The two helicopters are in a standoff position in their hover.

INT. HELICOPTER#2 - NIGHT

The pilot relaxes visibly.

				  DARREN (O/C)
				(imitating John Wayne)
		Like hell I'm not.

The pilot's eyes open wide.

EXT. TWO LEVEL BRIDGE - NIGHT

Two rockets leave Darren's helicopter and destroy the second, leaving only bits and
fragments behind as a result.

INT. HELICOPTER - NIGHT

Darren and Allan have their visors down.

				  ALLAN
		Good shooting!

				  DARREN
Yeah, well, what can you say? When you're good,
		you're good.

				  ALLAN
Yeah, right. Well, mister good, let's get some
		altitude and find our Captain.

The helicopter gains altitude and hovers over the bridge.

				  DARREN
		Where did he go?

EXT. STREET - EARLY MORNING

A TEMPEST Guard is standing near a high speed response vehicle. Suddenly, a handgun
is drawn and aimed at the back of his head. The Guard turns around, not yet realizing
that there is another person nearby, and walks nose first into the barrel of the gun.
White is handling the gun.

				  WHITE
		The keys.

The Guard is nervous and a bit shaken.

				  GUARD
		What?

Close-up on the Guards uniform, especially the badge identifying him from the TEMPEST.

				  WHITE
The keys, TEMPEST man. The keys! Move it!

The Guard scrambles for the keys to the car.

				  GUARD
Uh, yeah, sure. Right away. Here. Here they
		are.

The Guard reaches out and drops the keys to the ground.

				  WHITE
Alright. You want to play games? We'll play games.

White cocks the gun.

				  WHITE
		Run.

				  GUARD
		What?

				  WHITE
		Run!!

The Guard turns and begins to slowly jog away. White picks up the keys while still
keeping his aim and his eyes on the Guard.

				  WHITE
		Run, run, run!!!

The Guard is now running for his life. As he turns the corner, White gets into the
car.

INT. BLUECASTLE MAIN LOBBY - EARLY MORNING

Several men and women are running to various stations. In the background an alarm
and warning.

				  WARNING (O/C)
Your attention please, your attention. All
personnel to their Stations. This is not an
exercise. Repeat, all personnel to their Stations.
		This is not an exercise.
				(pause)
		Your attention please...

Christopher is at the entrance when Cassandera arrives.

				  CASSANDERA
		What's happening?

				  CHRISTOPHER
He's on his way here, so we're sending everyone
to their Stations, to kill the son of a bitch
		once and for all.

				  CASSANDERA
You can't really expect the men to shoot him
when they see he's alone and alright?

				  CHRISTOPHER
I not only expect it, but you will demand it.

				  CASSANDERA
		Me!?

An expression on Christopher's face says, "yes." He is aiming a gun at Cassandera's
stomach.

				  CHRISTOPHER
Shall we go see to the troops?

Without a word, Cassandera walks ahead of Christopher, and runs into Tom and Sam.

				  TOM
		Is everything alright?

				  CASSANDERA
				(strained)
Everything is fine. Take up your Stations.

				  TOM
				(whispering)
He's stolen a fully armed high speed response
		unit.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Commander Scott!

				  TOM
		Sir!

				  CHRISTOPHER
		What is White's status?

				  TOM
We have confirmed that White has stolen the
high speed response unit. Physical condition,
		unknown.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Was the unit fully armed?

				  TOM
		No, Sir! It was empty.

Tom glances to Cassandera.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Excellent.

				  SAM
		Are you sure you're alright?

				  CASSANDERA
Please just do as I ask.

They start to move in their own directions. Cassandera stops them when she speaks.

				  CASSANDERA
Oh, and gentlemen... If you have to shoot him,
shoot to kill. Get him on the first shot. I
don't want him in any more pain than there needs
		to be.

Everyone goes their separate ways. Cassandera and Christopher enter the elevator.

INT. BLUECASTLE SECURITY CENTRE - DAY

There are several video monitors showing various parts of the building, some
showing men with weapons forming lines behind barricades and in corners. Cassandera
puts on a microphone headset.

				  CASSANDERA
		Attention all personnel. Strengthen barricades
in Section 3. Thompson Division, send a
sharpshooter to the roof across the way. Let's
		make this fast.

Christopher has a cautious look of satisfaction on his face.

EXT. BLUECASTLE STREET ENTRANCE - DAY

The Lamborghini races down the street and stops in front of the entrance.

INT. BLUECASTLE SECURITY CENTRE - DAY

Cassandera is watching the screens in front of her. She is obviously under
considerable stress.

				  MAN#1 (O/C)
He's pulled up to the front.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Standby to fire.

EXT. BLUECASTLE STREET ENTRANCE - DAY

White remains in his car.

INT. BLUECASTLE SECURITY CENTRE - DAY

				  MAN#1 (O/C)
		What's taking him so long?

				  MAN#2 (O/C)
		He's up to something.

				  MAN#3 (O/C)
		I don't like this.

				  MAN#1 (O/C)
Just a minute. We have movement!

				  CHRISTOPHER
Do not engage until optimum target mark.

				  MAN#1 (O/C)
		Roger.

EXT. BLUECASTLE STREET ENTRANCE - DAY

White gets out of the car and slowly looks around. He pulls the backpack out, and
cautiously moves toward the entrance.

INT. BLUECASTLE SECURITY CENTRE - DAY

Cassandera is in total disbelief.

				  CASSANDERA
What the hell is he doing?

				  CHRISTOPHER
He's going to make it easy! He's giving up!

				  MAN#3 (O/C)
It's him! Unit two, give me a visual confirmation!

				  MAN#2 (O/C)
We confirm! It's White, alright! He seems safe
		enough.

				  MAN#4 (O/C)
		Hallelujah! It's over!

				  MAN#3 (O/C)
Hold on. Com. Centre, please advise. We have
target in sight, safe and sound. Request
permission to recognize White under Regular
		Status.

Christopher cocks his gun. It is leveled at Cassandera.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		That is not wise, Captain.

				  CASSANDERA
				(pausing)
The orders we originally received, have been
		confirmed as still in effect.
				(to self)
		God be with him.

INT. BLUECASTLE MAIN LOBBY - DAY

Two men on the front line look at each other with shock and disbelief.

				  MAN#3
Roger, are you sure about that?

INT. BLUECASTLE SECURITY CENTRE - DAY

Christopher moves to the microphone.

				  CHRISTOPHER
				(yelling)
You have your orders, gentlemen! Execute them!
		Literally!

				  MAN#3 (O/C)
Roger. Execution at optimum target mark. Out.

Christopher begins to pace in an almost gloating manner. He releases the gun from its
cocked position. There is a twinkle in his eye, almost as if a dream were about to
come true.

				  CHRISTOPHER
We're almost there, Cassandera. Almost there.

Cassandera is trying to disconnect herself from the scene until Christopher puts his
hands on her shoulders. He seems to be growing in excitement.

				  CHRISTOPHER
Look at it! In less than 60 seconds it will all
be mine! The base, the people, the Teams, and
		who knows... even...

				  CASSANDERA
		Don't say it.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		What?

				  CASSANDERA
Don't you dare say it, Bender. Don't even think it.

				  CHRISTOPHER
Well, granted, it would take time...

Cassandera makes a sudden set of adjustments to her panel as Christopher continues.

				  CHRISTOPHER
But, we both know that I'm twice the man White
could ever be. Is he striving for world control?
No! In less than one year I could have the entire
world under my leadership. I could give you that
world, Cassandera. The world for you.

				  CASSANDERA
This is Control. Do not fire! I repeat, do not
		fire!

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Cassandera, what are you doing?

				  CASSANDERA
I told you not to get in my way.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Cassandera, don't!

				  CASSANDERA
This is Control to all units.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Cassandera...

				  CASSANDERA
The following is a directive issued through the
		power of High Command.

Christopher cocks the gun.

				  CHRISTOPHER
Cass., please don't make me do it.

Cassandera looks up to Christopher, focuses on the gun, and although quickly covers
up, a twinge of fear, anger, and even humiliation crosses her face at having
forgotten the weapon.

				  CHRISTOPHER
Now sit down! Don't you see what I'm trying to
do here? Think about it. The entire world under
one Government. No more wars, no starvation, no
		more poor, no more fighting.

				  CASSANDERA
		And all done by you?

				  CHRISTOPHER
		And all done by me.

				  CASSANDERA
What happens to those countries that don't share
your mission, or those people who won't join your
		quest?

				  CHRISTOPHER
They would have to be dealt with, granted.

				  CASSANDERA
In short, you'd kill them. Hunt them down, just
like you're hunting Dave down right now. Like
		animals.

				  CHRISTOPHER
There is no room for a minority in a majority
		rule.

				  CASSANDERA
Well, I'm sorry for you, then.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Why?

				  CASSANDERA
Because you're one of the minority.

Suddenly, Cassandera swings her leg out, catching Christopher off guard. As he hits
the floor, the gun goes off sending a round into the ceiling. Cassandera makes a dash
for the door. Cassandera is confronted by two guards as she tries to leave the room.
She swings at one of the guards, sending him to the edge of the doorframe, then
manages to duck an attack from the other guard. The struggle concludes when the two
guards are either winded or unconscious on the floor. Christopher has now regained his
weapon and has his first clear shot. He fires, hitting the edge of the doorway, just
as Cassandera disappears into the hall outside.

INT. BLUECASTLE HALL - DAY

Cassandera is running down the hall to a set of elevators. She frantically pushes the
button and the doors open. Suddenly, Christopher steps out from around the corner.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Cassandera, don't!

INT. BLUECASTLE ELEVATOR - DAY

Cassandera rushes into the elevator and pushes both the main floor button and the door close button.

INT. BLUECASTLE HALL - DAY

Christopher is running toward the elevator. He stops when he realizes he won't make it in time, and
takes aim with his gun. When the doors close, Christopher fires at the elevator.

INT. BLUECASTLE ELEVATOR - DAY

Cassandera throws herself to the floor as bullets rip through both sides of the elevator. Finally,
there is silence. Nothing can be heard except the sound of the elevator in operation.

INT. BLUECASTLE HALL - DAY

Christopher breaks his firing posture. He has a look of disdain on his face.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Shit.

He makes a dash for the Security Centre.

INT. BLUECASTLE MAIN LOBBY - DAY

Jessica joins Sam and James in cover with others.

				  JESSICA
		Any news yet?

				  JAMES
Aside from weird signals coming from upstairs,
all we know is that he's just coming through
		the doors.

				  JESSICA
Why the hell doesn't he run?

				  SAM
Hang on, news over line one.

INT. BLUECASTLE SECURITY CENTRE - DAY

				  CHRISTOPHER
This is Bender. Fire! Now! Kill the son of a
		bitch! Now!!!

INT. BLUECASTLE MAIN LOBBY - DAY

				  SAM
That sounded like a rational order.

Cassandera's voice echoes through the hallway as she comes running from the elevator.

				  CASSANDERA
		Dave! Dave!

White reacts and moves into the open to greet Cassandera. Suddenly, A TEMPEST Officer
springs up with a machine gun.

				  TEMP.
		Now!

The TEMPEST Officer starts to fire and catches White in the mid section and chest areas,
sending him flying off of his feet and into the marble wall five meters behind him. The
firing stops. White seems to be a lifeless mass on the floor. White staggers to his feet,
his uniform in shreds, and his bulletproof vest not very much better. Cassandera is now
in shock.

INT. BLUECASTLE SECURITY CENTRE - DAY

Christopher has a look of surprise, shock, and disbelief.

INT. BLUECASTLE MAIN LOBBY - DAY

White glares at the scene around him, and then slowly rips open the remains of his uniform
to reveal a better sight of the vest underneath.

				  WHITE
Armor! Armor, assholes! Bulletproof vests! I
		know your game!

Cassandera takes a step forward.

				  CASSANDERA
		Dave...

				  WHITE
		And you're on.

				  CASSANDERA
		Dave?!

				  WHITE
		Your asses are mine!

				  CASSANDERA
		Dave!

				  TEMP.
		Holy shit! Fire!

Before the TEMPEST Officer can get a shot off, White has started his own volley. He
kills the Officer. White runs out of ammunition in his gun, throws it away, grabs
his rifle, and continues shooting. While he is shooting, White takes the backpack and
sets it on fire. He throws the flaming backpack into the centre, turns and dives
through a window. Cassandera is still standing in shock when the figure of Jessica
tackles Cassandera to the ground. Suddenly, there is a huge explosion of gasoline and
ammunition that starts to go off in all directions. Jessica is covering Cassandera
more from the sound of the ammunition than from the actual rounds themselves.

EXT. BLUECASTLE STREET ENTRANCE - DAY

White gets up off the ground. On the way to the car, a sniper lets off a round,
narrowly missing him. White gets in and slams the door shut. He starts the car and
speeds away, back the way he came. The chase is on.

EXT. ROADBLOCK - DAY

White speeds through a roadblock. He passes by another high speed unit, and C#1
scrambles for his vehicle and gives chase. C#2 and C#3 are close behind.

EXT. STEEP HILL -DAY

The chase goes down a steep hill, across a bridge, then under the bridge, up
another hill. The chase goes along a winding street, and arrives at a point where
there is a steep turn and a road that carries on straight ahead. It has a, "NO ENTRY"
sign. There is a roadblock here. White goes off the road, past the roadblock, and
spins out on the grass. The three cars in pursuit have to wait while the roadblock
is cleared. White spins his car back on course, and onto a one way street. He is of
course going the wrong way, with C#1, C#2, and C#3 in close pursuit. White turns hard
onto a highway, and takes the next exit. He comes to a traffic circle, and instead of
going around it, he goes straight through and over it. White continues along and turns
down a street. White is driving along a gravel road.

				  C#1 (O/C)
Now we've got him. There's only one way off of
this road. We'll be ready for him.

				  C#2 (O/C)
		He's going too fast.

White's car comes to a corner, but instead of turning, he flies off the road and into
the parallel running river. The other 3 cars come to a stop, and the men get out.

EXT. RIVER - DAY

The car continues to sink, and completely disappears.

EXT. GRAVEL ROAD - DAY

A long shot from the other side of the river showing a few other cars joining the
original units. All is quiet.

INT. BLUECASTLE MAIN LOBBY - DAY

The aftermath of White's visit. There is a man being moved on a stretcher. James
is carrying a cup of tea for Cassandera. Sam is with her. He takes the tea from
James. Cassandera is pale, and somewhat trancelike. She is in shock.

				  SAM
Here. Drink this, and then I want Jessica to
		take you home.

Sam takes Cassandera's hand, and literally puts her through the movements of
drinking the tea. There is a moments pause.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		And I second the motion.

Christopher is gloating as he comes to join the group. Jessica and Tom quickly
drop whatever they are doing and move in between Christopher and Cassandera.

				  CHRISTOPHER
I just thought you'd like to know who is in
charge of everything from now on, permanently.
It would seem that our good ex-Captain drove
off the road while trying to evade my men. His
car went into the river. No survivors are
anticipated. So, I do hope you're okay, Cassandera.
I hope that you're also ready. Go home and rest.
I'll deal with you later... personally.
				(whispering)
He's dead, Cassandera, and it's mine. All mine.

Cassandera gets up and leaves, swiftly followed by Jessica. The rest begin to
move off in all directions. They are stopped by Christopher.

				  CHRISTOPHER
Oh, and by the way, once cleanup operations are
done here, all CASTLEGUARD members are to return
to base, and all Chiefs of Staff and BLUECASTLE
members are relieved of duty until further notice.

EXT. WHITE'S DRIVEWAY - DAY

A regular patrol car drives up and stops in the driveway.

INT. PATROL CAR - DAY

				  JESSICA
Are you sure you don't want me to stay here for
		the night?

				  CASSANDERA
		I'm sure. Thank you anyway.

				  JESSICA
At least let me come in for a few minutes.

				  CASSANDERA
		No, thank you, Jessica.

				  JESSICA
		I don't understand you, Cassandera. We've known
each other since we were kids, and been through a lot together. Nothing has even come close to denting that armor of yours. Yet now...

				  CASSANDERA
I've never had so much, that was so close, to
		lose before.

				  JESSICA
You really loved him, didn't you?

				  CASSANDERA
I still do, Jessica, and I always will.

				  JESSICA
You make it sound like he's still alive.

				  CASSANDERA
		Oh, really? Do I?
				(pause)
		Goodnight, Jessica, and thank you.

				  JESSICA
		Goodnight.

EXT. WHITE'S DRIVEWAY - DAY

Cassandera gets out of the car and closes the door. She walks to the entrance. As
Cassandera is about to turn the corner, the car pulls out, and a couple of honks of
the horn are heard. Cassandera waves good-bye. She arrives at the door, unlocks it
and enters.

INT. WHITE'S KITCHEN - DAY

Cassandera closes the door and takes two steps into the centre of the kitchen before
stopping and taking in the silence. She is about to move when a look of perplexion
crosses her face. She crouches down to examine something. Taking her P.O.V. we notice
muddy footprints on the floor.

				  CASSANDERA
		Mud?!

As she gets up, suddenly, a gun flashes before our faces and stops, aimed at the back
of her head.

				  WHITE
Move once, and I will pull the trigger until
there is nothing left to pull the trigger at. Go
		ahead, Captain, try.

Cassandera slowly turns around to look at White. Her eyes are filled with horror.
White is covered in grime and mud. He is still wet, and his bullet wounds are more
pronounced than ever. There is also a cut on his forehead that has become puffed up
due to weather and infection.

				  WHITE
		Something wrong, Captain?

				  CASSANDERA
Dave, you're hurt. Thank God you're alive, but
you're hurt. Here, let me help you.

As Cassandera begins to move toward White, he suddenly, jerks the gun to her face.

				  WHITE
		Don't, I'll shoot.

She stops and looks puzzled.

				  WHITE
Everyone is against me, Cass. Even you.

				  CASSANDERA
		That's not true! It's Bender who's orchestrating
		the entire situation.

				  WHITE
Oh, come on. You can come up with something better
		than that.

				  CASSANDERA
Listen, you pigheaded, stubborn, paranoid idiot
of a man. We were very much in love, or have you
forgotten that? If I wanted the Organization or
even wanted you dead, I would have moved a long
time ago rather than put up with your continuing
bouts of stupidity! There has always been an
undisturbed trust between us. If you think I've
betrayed that trust, pull that trigger. Just
remember, Chris Bender is responsible for this
mess, and you'll be throwing away everything for
		nothing!

				  WHITE
		Why is he doing it?

				  CASSANDERA
Oh, God, Dave, later. Let me help you.

White jerks the gun.

				  WHITE
		Why?!!

				  CASSANDERA
He's on a world conquest scheme, okay.

The gun drops slowly.

				  WHITE
Please, Cass., if you love me at all, don't turn
me in. Please, I need your help. I need you.

By this time the gun is at White's side. He then drops the gun and collapses into
Cassandera's arms. She guides him down to the floor ever so gently.

				  CASSANDERA
		I won't. Don't worry, I won't.

INT. WHITE'S BEDROOM - DAY

A bright light suddenly stops. The light was coming from a penlight held by Sam. Sam
puts the penlight away. The entire Team is there. White is unconscious.

				  SAM
		Hypothermia, concussion, three fractured ribs,
a cut to the head with a bit of an infection
starting, miscellaneous cuts and bruises all
around, possible pneumonia if he isn't watched
very carefully, and highly infected wounds to
the abdomen and thigh. I've got all the things
I need to fight the infections, but I still need
a couple of units of blood.

				  DARYL
		How do we get that?

				  DARREN
				(imitating John Wayne)
Get your masks, pilgrim. We're goin' to pay this
here towns bank a little visit.

				  DARYL
		Oh, no.

INT. WHITE'S BEDROOM - DAY

				  ANCHORPERSON
Martial Law has been temporarily lifted in the
capital city, today, for the public to view the
funeral of Captain David White, who died in the
worlds most bizarre manhunt two weeks ago. New
Command Seven Emergency Services Captain and
Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Bender, is
being requested to serve audience at the United
Nations to explain the build up of Command Seven
arms and troops. And still coming up on our 5
o'clock edition, the search continues for two
John Wayne impersonators, who stole several units
of blood. Wayne Gretzky will talk more about
hockey, and Dick Ladd will have the weather.

In the room is James, Allan, Darren, and Sam. Cassandera is sitting beside White who
is still in bed.

				  WHITE
		Is it really that bad?

				  DARREN
Naw, we only took four units. The way he put it,
it sounds like we cleaned out the entire city.

Allan lets out a sign of spent patience.

				  ALLAN
It's worse. He almost has the entire
		Organization, including both BLUECASTLE and
		CASTLEGUARD.

				  WHITE
		Ouch.

				  ALLAN
		I thought that might sting.

Daryl enters.

				  DARYL
Not to mention, he's taking the Star Wars
Special apart and getting ready to move it.

				  JAMES
Yeah, well, I've only got one question. What
the hell do we do next? I mean we've got to
		do something.

				  ALLAN
He's right, Dave. If we don't do something
pretty damn quick, we could be looking at the
start of the next full scale global war.

				  WHITE
		We fight.

				  ALL BUT CASS.
		What?!

				  WHITE
We get all those troops still with us to join
us here with as many weapons as they can get.
Remember that house warming we were going to
have? Looks like we'll have a few more guests
		than we originally anticipated.

				  CASSANDERA
		We'll be ready for them.

				  WHITE
Allan, what and who do we have so far?

				  ALLAN
Well, he's got all of our heavy equipment, but
I don't think he will have nearly enough in
the way of manpower to use it all.

				  JAMES
I had Jessica and Daryl take out a few of the
helicopters at the ground level hangars. I
		wanted the advantage.

				  WHITE
Let's hope Bender hasn't found out yet. Does
		he have the GL-33?

				  DARREN
		No, we have the 33.

				  WHITE
		Where is it?

				  TOM
		In the backyard.

				  WHITE
		What?!

				  CASSANDERA
		Easy, love.

				  WHITE
Well, I hope somebody had the intelligence to
		camouflage it.

There is nothing but silence.

				  WHITE
		Nobody camouflaged it.

There is only silence.

				  SAM
I was here taking care of you.

				  DARYL
Yeah, and the rest of us were basically
concerned with how you were doing.

				  CASSANDERA
I'm sorry. I should have done it, or at least
		made sure it was done.

				  WHITE
No apologies or excuses. Allan, Darren, get
		on it.

				  DARREN
		Right away.

Darren and Allan leave. Allan pauses at the door.

				  ALLAN
Dave, I just want to say I'm sorry.

				  WHITE
Let's just correct it and carry on.

Allan nods and leaves.

				  WHITE
		Tom, Jessica.

The two step forward.

				  WHITE
I need my men back. Start spreading the news.
Make sure it only gets to the right ears. All
TEMPEST personnel and TEMPEST sympathizers are
		exempt from receiving said news.

				  TOM
When do you want them formed?

				  WHITE
By 04:00. We strike at dawn. The streets will
		be relatively empty by then.

Tom and Jessica exit.

				  WHITE
		Cass. I need you here.

				  CASSANDERA
		I wasn't going anywhere.

				  WHITE
Daryl, I want you, Darren, James, and Allan
		out on a special mission.

INT. BLUECASTLE ARMORY - DAY

A TEMPEST Guard is standing outside an ammunitions room. Allan walks up, and the
Guard snaps to attention.

				  T.GUARD
		Sir!

				  ALLAN
		Open up. Inventory.

				  T.GUARD
		Sir!

The Guard opens the door. He is about to close it, when Allan stops him.

				  ALLAN
Oh, and seeing as I have to check each and
every weapon here, ensure that nobody, and I
		mean nobody, disturbs me.

				  T.GUARD
		Yes, Sir!

Allan pats the Guard on the cheek.

				  ALLAN
		Nice chap.

Allan steps inside and closes the door.

INT. BLUECASTLE AMMUNITIONS ROOM - DAY

There are weapons stacked along all of the walls and several shelves filled with
additional weapons and ammunition. Allan makes sure the door is closed and locked.
He quickly proceeds to open a ventilation grill. Once open, James sticks his head
out.

				  JAMES
Acme heating services. You called to have your
		air systems checked, I believe.

				  ALLAN
		Cute. let's move.

Allan starts to hand the weapons to James. He in turn passes the weapons down to
Daryl, who passes them to Darren. Allan opens a closet filled with TEMPEST
uniforms.

INT. BLUECASTLE MAIN LOBBY - NIGHT

Christopher enters from outside where it is raining. He shakes off his jacket, and is
met by his LT.

				  LT.
		Welcome back, Sir.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Thank you.

				  LT.
How was your visit to the U.N.?

				  CHRISTOPHER
Boring as usual. Mind you, in about another 9
months we won't have to worry about them, now
		will we.

				  LT.
		No, Sir!

				  CHRISTOPHER
Anything happen while I was away?

				  LT.
No, Sir. Nothing unusual. The air systems
people were the only ones to come and go.

				  CHRISTOPHER
Wait a minute, wait a minute. Air systems people?

INT. BLUECASTLE AMMUNITIONS ROOM - NIGHT

The door swings open quickly. Christopher, the LT., and the Guard all rush in. The
room is completely empty.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Damn.

				  LT.
		I'm sorry, Sir. I thought...

				  CHRISTOPHER
Never mind what you thought, you were wrong.
				(pause)
Go to Condition Red. Break out all of our own
equipment. God only knows what else they got to.

				  LT.
		Yes, Sir!

They all rush out.

INT. WHITE'S BEDROOM - EARLY MORNING

White is doing up his shirt and putting on the last of his uniform. Cassandera is in
the room with him.

				  CASSANDERA
I still don't think that this is a good idea.

				  WHITE
I'm going out there no matter what. Those are
my men on that field, and they're fighting for
one reason, me. There is no choice in the
		matter. How do I look?

				  CASSANDERA
		You're missing something.

				  WHITE
		What?

				  CASSANDERA
		This.

Cassandera takes the ring out of her pocket. The one White had left behind.

				  CASSANDERA
I think you left this on the kitchen table by
		accident.

				  WHITE
Well, I'll be. How much do you think it's worth?

				  CASSANDERA
		A lot.

				  WHITE
Yeah? I didn't think tin went for that much
		lately.

				  CASSANDERA
		Oooo!

Cassandera throws White on the bed and jumps on also. The two are thoroughly engaged
in horseplay when James enters. James clears his throat. White and Cassandera don't
hear James, and carry on with their antics. The couple scales down the noise of their
antics and hear James when he clears his throat again. White looks up from his
position on the bed, and Cassandera just lets her head fall onto White's shoulder,
not bothering to look at James. She is a little disappointed at being interrupted.

				  JAMES
Sorry. He's got all of his forces deployed and
		Martial Law back in effect.

James leaves.

				  CASSANDERA
You know, I'll be glad when this whole thing is
over, and we can get some privacy back.

				  WHITE
I know. I've thought about that a lot lately.

				  ALLAN (O/C)
Dave, are we going, or what's happening?

				  WHITE
		I really...

Allan enters.

				  ALLAN
		Dave?

				  WHITE
Can you give me 5 minutes, Al?

				  ALLAN
Okay, but we don't have much more than that.

				  WHITE
Cass., hold me. Just hold me.

				  CASSANDERA
		Sure. What's wrong?

				  WHITE
		I'm scared.

				  CASSANDERA
Don't worry. I'll be right by your side the
		whole way through.

				  WHITE
		I wish that were true.

				  CASSANDERA
		What do you mean?

				  WHITE
You're going to be staying here and coordinating.

				  CASSANDERA
Like bloody hell, I will! Look at me! I've
earned my stripes. I'm not quite as fragile
as you make me out to be. I'm a big girl who
can handle herself perfectly well. If you
think that I'm going to sit back getting ulcers
because the one person that matters in my life
is playing British Bulldog with bullets, you've
got another thing coming! Besides, you should
know better than anyone else that I'd never
listen to an order like that, especially coming
		from you!

				  WHITE
I was afraid you were going to say something
like that. Alright, you're with me. Tom and
		Jessica will coordinate.

				  CASSANDERA
		Good.

				  WHITE
		Cass...

Allan rushes in.

				  ALLAN
		Dave. Let's move! Time's up!

White sighs.

				  CASSANDERA
Coming! Come on, you can tell me in the car.

EXT. WHITE'S DRIVEWAY - EARLY MORNING

Cassandera walk out toward their car with Allan and James. The GL-33 is seen in the
background. Men are running in all directions forming what can only be called
organized chaos.

				  ALLAN
Sorry, but we are running short on time.

				  WHITE
Don't worry about it. I'll just take it out of
your pay. Launch first wave now, the second in
ten minutes, and hold the third until either
Cass. or myself gives the word.

With that, they separate and go their own directions. James goes back into the house.
Allan barely has a chance to get in to the helicopter before it lifts off. White and
Cassandera begin to get into their car as the helicopter flies overhead.

INT. HIGH SPEED UNIT - DAY

Cassandera and Dave settle in. She begins to go over an intricate set of instruments
while White starts the car and sits in thought.

				  WHITE
		Cass.

				  CASSANDERA
		Hmmm?

				  WHITE
If we don't make it through this, I just want
		you to know...

				  CASSANDERA
I know. The same goes here.

They kiss and continue to get ready.

EXT. DOWNTOWN CITY CORE L.R.T. STATION - DAY

The streets are empty. In the shadows, movement by the L.R.T. station tunnel. From
overhead 2 squads can be seen moving through the station. The squads race past empty
teller booths. The group Leader raises his hand and the group stops behind him. The
Leader lets out a whistle and waves his arm in the open. Another whistle is heard in
reply as is another arm waving from around the corner of the L.R.T. station. The Leader
takes out a radio.

				  LEADER
This is Bravo Leader to Bravo Master. All's
well that ends well. Repeat, all's well that
		ends well.

				  TOM (O/C)
Mother Goose agrees. Repeat, Mother Goose agrees.

The Leader puts his radio away.

				  LEADER
		Here we go.

The Leader singles out a few of the squad members, and sends them across the street.
The remaining members take up positions on their side of the street. Other squads down
the block are doing the same thing. The Leader pulls out his radio again.

				  LEADER
This is Echo Three, ready. This is Echo Three,
		ready.

				  TOM (O/C)
Jack Frost says go. Jack Frost says go.

The Leader taps one of the men on the back. The man takes aim with a grenade launcher,
and sends a grenade through the window of the BLUECASTLE main lobby.

INT. BLUECASTLE MAIN LOBBY - DAY

The grenade lands on the floor. A TEMPEST Officer looks down from the upper level with a
look of perplexion and interest. From the Officer's P.O.V., the men on the lower level
can be seen going about their duties. They stop as the grenade lands and comes to a stop
in the middle of the floor.

				  T.O.
		Grenade!

Suddenly, the grenade explodes, sending flame, shrapnel, and men in all directions.

EXT. DOWNTOWN CORE L.R.T. STATION - DAY

The grenade launcher affixes another grenade.

				  LAUNCHER
		Ready.

				  LEADER
		Go.

The Launcher takes aim and sends another grenade in. The explosion is much larger
and blows out the remaining windows.

				  LEADER
		Okay. Go! Go! Go!

Suddenly, the entire squad on the Leader's side of the street moves toward the
entrance to BLUECASTLE.

INT. BLUECASTLE MAIN LOBBY - DAY

The first squad enters the building and begins to take hold of strategic positions.
The TEMPEST men on the upper level open fire. There is a fire fight.

				  LEADER
		Cover! Cover! Cover!

				  LAUNCHER
		Where?!

Suddenly, the Launcher gets lifted off the floor and carried a small distance
before dropping in a motionless heap.

				  LEADER
		Shit! Medic!

INT. BLUECASTLE COMMAND CENTRE - DAY

An alarm is sounding in the background. Men are running in all directions trying
to grab weapons, moving to their stations, or putting on armor. The LT. is at
the microphone. His voice is heard over the p.a. system.

				  LT.
Attention! Attention! We are now under attack.
All personnel report to their Stations. This
is not a drill. I repeat, this is not a drill.

Christopher makes his way into the Command Centre.

				  CHRISTOPHER
What the hell is going on?

				  LT.
Fire fight main lobby. Two high explosive
grenades fired, and approximately two squads
		engaged.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Bring in the tanks.

				  LT.
		Yes, Sir!

INT. BLUECASTLE MAIN LOBBY - DAY

The fighting is intense. Suddenly, there is an explosion above White's men, leaving
some dead.

				  LEADER
		What the...

A wall of TEMPEST men are now moving toward the Leaders location. The front line of
TEMPEST men ready grenade launchers and heavy duty weapons.

				  LEADER
Where the hell did they come from?! Pull back!!
		Pull back!!

EXT. BLUECASTLE STREET ENTRANCE - DAY

As the White men retreat from BLUECASTLE, they scramble for positions, some forming
groups of 10 or so. Suddenly, a tank rolls around a corner.

				  LEADER
		Shit! Scatter!

As the men try to move off in all directions, the tank stops, takes aim, and fires.
The explosion rips into a majority of the men. The GL-33 is hovering in the
background.

INT. GL-33 - DAY

Allan is sitting slightly behind Darren, who is at the controls.

				  ALLAN
		Did you see that?

				  DARREN
Yeah. Is this the excuse we've been waiting for?

				  ALLAN
		You've got it.

Darren flicks a few switches. Suddenly, the entire cockpit changes in design. New
computer panels move into different positions and monitors come to life. The back
becomes illuminated by a rather impressive set of computer banks. In the front is a
monitor that notes oxygen input going from 5% to 95%. Another computer shows a whole
new set of weapons available.

				  ALLAN
Cut low left. Activate pulse low ton missiles.

				  DARREN
		Roger, that. Beginning first run.

EXT. BLUECASTLE STREET ENTRANCE - DAY

The GL-33 dives toward the tank.

INT. GL-33 - DAY

Darren's trigger finger pushes a button on the firing column and repeats several
times. The explosions rip into the street below, moving quickly toward the tank.

EXT. BLUECASTLE STREET ENTRANCE - DAY

Explosions hit, and pass through the tank causing an explosion. The explosions
continue past the stationary P.O.V. on either side. The GL-33 races through the
smoke and over our heads.

INT. GL-33 - DAY

The GL-33 passes over the last of the smoke and into the clear.

				  DARREN
Alright! Now, that's how you kick ass, boys!
That's the way you do it! Bring on the rest!
I've got more where that came from!

				  ALLAN
Darren, you want to shut up for a minute. Take
it over one block. I think I've picked up a fire
		fight.

				  DARREN
		You've got it, big guy.

The GL-33 turns down one street and again at the next intersection. As the GL-33
turns the corner, they are met by two machine gun nests.

				  ALLAN
		Nest, upper eleven.

				  DARREN
		On guns!

				  ALLAN
		All four vulcan cannons activated!

				  DARREN
		Alright, you bastards. Eat this!

EXT. GL-33 - DAY

Eight barrels on the front of the GL-33 come to life.

INT. GL-33 - DAY

The machine gun nests are firing at the GL-33. Suddenly, an explosion in one of the
nests. The bullets from the GL-33 continue onto their mark in the second nest,
ripping it to shreds and forcing it into flames. The GL-33 continues forward.

				  ALLAN
		Hold up, Darren.

EXT. GL-33 - DAY

The GL-33 hovers.

INT. GL-33 - DAY

				  ALLAN
		Move it back.

EXT. GL-33 - DAY

The GL-33 moves back.

INT. GL-33 - DAY

Allan looks over his instruments carefully.

				  ALLAN
Take that left and hold. I've got a hunch.

				  DARREN
Anything in particular that we're looking for?

				  ALLAN
		Deep shit! All weapons activated.

Darren scans the empty street.

				  DARREN
There's nothing out there, Al. I say we move on.

				  ALLAN
		And I say we stay.

Over the radio, all kinds of commotion is heard.

				  DARREN
		Come on, Al.

				  ALLAN
		We stay.

				  DARREN
		Oh, oh.

				  ALLAN
		What is it?

EXT. STREET PARKADE - DAY

A lot of dust and papers blow into the intersection in front of the GL-33. There is
also a parkade on the corner where some blue exhaust is seen.

				  DARREN (O/C)
		Pre wash and blue exhaust.

A tank appears from the parkade, and a helicopter comes around the corner.

INT. GL-33 - DAY

				  DARREN
		Shit!

				  ALLAN
		Open fire!

				  DARREN
I am! I am! Using aggie and guns!

				  ALLAN
		Air to ground missiles ready!

				  DARREN
		Locked! Fire!

Allan pushes a button.

EXT. GL-33 - DAY

Two missiles leave the GL-33 and smash into the tank, destroying it. The GL-33 gains
altitude quickly and pulls both back and away from the other helicopter.

INT. GL-33 - DAY

				  ALLAN
Watch it. The Chopper's opened fire!

EXT. GL-33 - DAY

The enemy helicopter fires and makes small bullet holes on the GL-33's skin.

INT. GL-33 - DAY

				  ALLAN
		He's hit us.

				  DARREN
		Damage?

				  ALLAN
		Checking.

				  DARREN
		Guns alive?

				  ALLAN
		Yours.

EXT. GL-33 - DAY

The GL-33 gains altitude along side a gold skyscraper. It begins to fly circles around
the building with the enemy helicopter in close pursuit. Suddenly, the GL-33 pulls
away hard from the building and swings around to successfully make the rear of the
enemy helicopter a target. Darren fires, and as the enemy helicopter tries to gain
altitude, it explodes.

INT. GL-33 - DAY

				  ALLAN
Systems check complete. Armor held. All green.
Four marks dead ahead. Let's get up there.

				  DARREN
		On it!

Four helicopters are flying in formation.

				  DARREN
I don't think they see us yet. Heaters?

				  ALLAN
Anything to get this finished up fast.

				  DARREN
		Heaters away.

				  ALLAN
		Onboard computer target acquisition systems
		check. Guiding them right in.

EXT. GL-33 - DAY

Four missiles streak away from the helicopter. There are four fireballs after impact.

INT. BLUECASTLE COMMAND CENTRE - DAY

Christopher is leaning over the LT., when the flash of the four exploding helicopters
fills the Centre. Christopher sees four golden fireballs in mid air.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Son of a bitch!

The LT. is looking at a graphic reproduction of the GL-33 on his computer screen.

				  LT.
It's one of our new experimental helicopters,
Sir. We've never come up against anything like
		it before.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Launch all other helicopters.

				  LT.
		Unable.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		What?

				  LT.
Unable. All other helicopters have been
reported as non-op. Something about screwed up
		fuel lines.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Well, fix them!

				  LT.
We can't, Sir. We don't have the manpower or
		the parts.

				  CHRISTOPHER
Move the entire tank division out, then.

				  LT.
		Yes, Sir!

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Damn!

EXT. AIRPORT HANGAR - DAY

James is in the middle of a fire fight. A group of White's men are nearby. One of the
men moves cautiously toward James.

				  W.MAN
What are we going to do, Sir? We're pinned down.

				  JAMES
Break out the TEMPEST uniforms we got from
		supply.

				  W.MAN
		Sir?

				  JAMES
		Just do it!

				  W.MAN
		Yes, Sir!

James puts on a headset

				  JAMES
This is Sir Gallahad to King Arthur. Sir
		Gallahad to King Arthur. Over.

INT. HIGH SPEED UNIT - DAY

				  WHITE
Go ahead, Sir Gallahad. This is King Arthur.

EXT. AIRPORT HANGAR - DAY

James is struggling to slip into a TEMPEST uniform as he speaks. A few others are
putting uniforms on as well.

				  JAMES
We are Code Green. I repeat, we are Code Green.
		Being forced into Operation Double-cross.

INT. HIGH SPEED UNIT - DAY

				  WHITE
Roger. King Arthur to Falcon's Sight. Do you copy?

EXT. MOTORHOME - DAY

Establish motorhome driving down a desert highway.

INT. MOTORHOME - DAY

In the back of the motorhome is Jessica at two panels. Tom is at another.

				  TOM
				(to self)
Of all the stupid places to be. Could I get a
Lamborghini? No. I get a motorhome.

				  JESSICA
		Copy, King Arthur. Tom?

				  TOM
				(to self)
Oh, well, at least the air conditioning works.

				  JESSICA
Tom. Dave's calling on war channel "C".

Tom makes a few adjustments.

				  TOM
This is Falcon's Sight. Go ahead.

INT. HIGH SPEED UNIT - DAY

				  WHITE
This is King Arthur. Sir Gallahad is Code Green.
Moving to Operation Double-cross. Do you copy?

INT. MOTORHOME - DAY

				  TOM
		Affirmative.

A loud beeping starts to come from Tom's panel.

				  TOM
King Arthur, transfer to war channel "X". You
are being locked on. Trace underway. Repeat,
		transfer to war channel "X".

INT. HIGH SPEED UNIT - DAY

				  WHITE
Roger. Transferring to war channel "X".

				  CASSANDERA
		What is it?

				  WHITE
I think Bender's going all out now.

				  CASSANDERA
		Just like you thought?

				  WHITE
		Wrong, sooner than I thought.

				  CASSANDERA
		Meaning?

				  WHITE
He's desperate. Transfer to war channel "X".

EXT. HIGH SPEED UNIT - DAY

An explosion rips into the ground just ahead of the high speed unit. The entire car
jumps.

INT. HIGH SPEED UNIT - DAY

				  WHITE
		Son of a bitch!

				  CASSANDERA
		Checking systems.

EXT. HIGH SPEED UNIT - DAY

The car comes to a squealing stop.

INT. HIGH SPEED UNIT - DAY

				  CASSANDERA
		What are you doing?

White grabs a machine gun from the back.

				  WHITE
		I'm leading!

EXT. HIGH SPEED UNIT - DAY

White gets out of the car, arms the machine gun, takes quick aim, and fires. Suddenly,
machine gun fire from the top of a building he is aiming at rips into the top of the
car.

INT. HIGH SPEED UNIT - DAY

				  CASSANDERA
		Dave!?!

EXT. HIGH SPEED UNIT - DAY

White doesn't comprehend her. Instead he takes aim on the building and fires. A man
goes limp over the edge of the roof, and his rifle drops to the ground. White goes
after another sniper on the same roof.

				  CASSANDERA
		David!!!

				  WHITE
		Not now, Cassandera. I'm busy!

				  CASSANDERA
		You stupid bastard!

White takes aim on a few men running in between buildings and opens fire on them.
Suddenly, there is a loud explosion. The remains of a tank are on the roadway in
front of the car. Cassandera, out of the car, is putting away a disposable rocket
launcher. She is visibly upset.

				  CASSANDERA
David White! Get your miserable, stupid,
stubborn self into this bloody car and drive!
Now!! Or I will blow your kneecaps off and turn
them into gerbil food! Got it!?

White has a blank look on his face.

				  CASSANDERA
		Move!!

				  WHITE
		Yes, ma'am.

They both get back into the car.

INT. MOTORHOME - DAY

				  TOM
Falcon's Sight to King Arthur. Multiple
heavyweight contacts moving up the hill.

INT. HIGH SPEED UNIT - DAY

Cassandera is seated.

				  CASSANDERA
This is the Devil's Advocate. We copy. Standby.

White is strapping himself in.

				  CASSANDERA
		Did you catch that?

				  WHITE
		No, what?

				  CASSANDERA
Multiple heavyweight contacts moving up the hill.

				  WHITE
		Launch Third Wave.

				  CASSANDERA
		This is the Devil's Advocate.

				  WHITE
				(to self)
		No kidding.

Cassandera looks at White with a bit of a smile on her face as she continues.

				  CASSANDERA
		Launch Third Wave.

				  TOM (O/C)
Roger. Launching Third Wave. Also, dispatching
		Matchbox to Romeo's Balcony.

				  WHITE
Negative. Dispatch the Friendly Giant to the
		Balcony.

INT. MOTORHOME - DAY

				  TOM
		Copy.

				  WHITE (O/C)
I am going to take the Knight's Challenge as
		of this mark.

INT. HIGH SPEED UNIT - DAY

				  CASSANDERA
		You're what?

EXT. AIRPORT HANGAR - DAY

James is in midrun. He stops.

				  JAMES
		He's what?

INT. MOTORHOME - DAY

				  JESSICA
		He's what?

				  TOM
		You're what?

INT. HIGH SPEED UNIT - DAY

				  WHITE
I am taking the Knight's Challenge immediately.
		Dispatch Matchbox to my location.

INT. MOTORHOME - DAY

				  TOM
		Roger. Complying. Falcon's Sight out.

				  JESSICA
I hope he knows what he's doing.

EXT. AIRPORT HANGAR - DAY

There is a fire fight along one face of the building. James and the other men wearing
TEMPEST uniforms are on the other side.

				  JAMES
Alright, let's move. We've just run out of
time. Pilots and technicians are to wait for my
		signal before entering. Okay, go.

The group opens the door slowly and calmly. They stroll into the hangar. James and the
men move to where the TEMPEST Unit is staging their last stand. Spooked, several
TEMPEST men turn to look at James.

				  T.LEADER
		Who are you?

				  JAMES
		We're the reinforcements.

				  T.LEADER
About time. Integrate your men along this flank.

				  JAMES
		Not for you. For them!

James and his men raise and arm their weapons.

EXT. ROAD ALONG VALLEY - DAY

A convoy of motorhomes move down the street and stops. Suddenly, several people get
out and form a line along the edge of the valley. Each is armed with a rocket
launcher. Jessica is among the group. She takes out a pair of binoculars and is
wearing a headset. Several tanks are moving up the other side of the valley.

				  JESSICA
This is the Third Wave. Ready in two.

Tom is struggling to load a flaregun. He speaks into his own headset.

				  TOM
		Roger. Standby for our mark.

The entire line along the ridge stands at attention. Tom launches the first flare.

				  JESSICA
		Take your marks.

The entire line swings their weapons into place and go into a kneeling position at
the same time. There is another tense filled wait until the next flare is seen.

				  JESSICA
		Fire!

The entire line fires at the same time. The explosions rip into the tanks.

INT. BLUECASTLE COMMAND CENTRE - DAY

The LT. has been communicating with the Tank Commander.

				  LT.
Tank Commander do you copy? Come in Tank
Commander. Sir, we've lost contact with the
		tank division.
				(pause)
		Tank Commander, please respond.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Damn you.

EXT. GL-33 - DAY

The GL-33 is flying over the city. When it arrives at BLUECASTLE, White jumps out and
onto the roof. He moves quickly to the stairwell.

INT. BLUECASTLE STAIRWELL - DAY

White comes down a flight of stairs cautiously. He emerges into the hallway, and
carefully moves down the hallway toward the Command Centre, drawing his gun as he
moves. White arrives at the entrance.

INT. BLUECASTLE COMMAND CENTRE - DAY

White swings into the room from around the corner. Christopher and the LT. turn in
time to see White. The LT. goes to draw his gun, while Christopher dives for cover.
White shoots 4 times, once at Christopher, 3 at the LT. The LT. drops to the floor
after getting hit by one of the bullets. White starts to move cautiously around the
Command Centre looking for Christopher.

				  WHITE
It's over, Bender. Your tank division is wiped
out, your air division immobilized, the airfield
captured, and what's left of your men are being
rounded up right now. Make it easy on everyone,
Chris. Finish it up. Just come out. I promise
		every courtesy will be given.

A group of helicopters surround the Command Centre level. They hover.

EXT. AERIAL BLUECASTLE - DAY

The helicopters seem to be watching the going's on.

INT. BLUECASTLE COMMAND CENTRE - DAY

				  WHITE
They're my men, Chris, not yours. It's over. A
damn good fight, but it's over.

White makes his way around the Centre. Suddenly, Christopher jumps White, and the gun
falls to the floor out of the reach of both men. A fist fight breaks out. Christopher
punches White, sending him crashing into a panel. He rolls off the panel and lands
heavily on the floor.

				  CHRISTOPHER
It's not over until I say it is. This
Organization is mine, all mine. You are to be
killed. I'm the Captain. You're the enemy. I
have to kill you. It's my duty. It's the only
way to save my men, my Team, my Command. The
		only way.

As Christopher has been talking, he walks around the panel to where White is trying to
get up. White looks disoriented and is holding his stomach. White pulls his hand away
and looks at it. It is covered in blood. Suddenly, Christopher picks White up and again
throws another punch. White manages to block this one and throw a punch of his own,
hitting Christopher square in the face. Christopher hits White with all his force in the
midsection, lifting him off his feet, and then in his face, knocking him to the floor.
White is within reach of the gun. As he reaches for it, Christopher slams the heel of his
boot into White's hand, pinning it to the floor. Christopher kicks the gun away.

				  CHRISTOPHER
You are weak. You don't deserve to be Captain.
Only the strong deserve that. Do you hear me?

Christopher kicks White in the leg as he yells.

				  CHRISTOPHER
				(yelling)
		Only! The! Strong!

White cries out in pain, and folds in on himself. Christopher picks him up and hauls him
over to a window.

				  CHRISTOPHER
You want your city so bad? There it is. See it?

Christopher grabs White by the hair, and yanks his head up so that White can look out the window.

				  CHRISTOPHER
See it?!! You want it so bad, it's yours! Take
		it!

Christopher runs with White and sends him through the window. White manages to grapple a
helicopter skid.

				  CHRISTOPHER
				(disbelieving)
		Bastard! Will you die?

Christopher grabs a pole. He tries to jar White off the skid. As Christopher connects, he yells
with each jab.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Die! Die! Die!

INT. HELICOPTER - DAY

				  JAMES (O/C)
This is Commander Lardin. Pull up! Get White out
		of there!

The helicopter pulls away with White barely hanging onto the skid.

INT. BLUECASTLE COMMAND CENTRE - DAY

Cassandera appears at the door, armed with her own gun. Christopher turns and looks at her, then
back to where White was, then back to her.

				  CHRISTOPHER
Cassandera, don't! You know as well as I do that
I was just following orders. You would have done
the same thing in my position. Damn it! Listen,
it's because of people like us that this
		Organization can stay strong.

Cassandera relaxes her stance a bit. Christopher smiles nervously.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		Cass...

She raises her gun quickly.

				  CHRISTOPHER
		No!!

Cassandera fires. The bullets catch Christopher in the chest, sending him through the
window. He plummets to his death.

EXT. HELICOPTER - DAY

White is still struggling to hold onto the skid. His hold is slipping. The helicopter
comes low enough that White can touch the roof. He collapses unconscious.

EXT. BLUECASTLE ROOF - DAY

Men are running from the stairwell toward White as the helicopter pulls away.

INT. BLUECASTLE WAR ROOM - DAY

The entire Team is here except for Tom and Cassandera.

				  ANCHORPERSON
And finally, to recap the top news headline.
Captain David White and Captain Cassandera
Monchrief are expected to finally leave the
city, exactly one month after the spectacular
battle of the bases, where surviving members
of the Command Seven Base TEMPEST were led to
an Organizational mutiny by Second Captain
Christopher Bender against the personnel from
the Command Seven Base CASTLEGUARD, and the
Command Seven Station BLUECASTLE, located here
in the city. Personnel from the CASTLEGUARD
have been departing hourly after completing a
city-wide cleanup. Captain's White and Monchrief
have offered no time for their return.

The T.V. goes off.

				  ALLAN
		Not a bad ending.

				  SAM
		Where's Cassandera.

				  WHITE
		Packing for our trip.

				  JAMES
		It's about time.

				  JESSICA
Why aren't you at home packing?

				  WHITE
I needed to tell you all something.

				  DARYL
I hate it when he calls these meetings. It
		usually means trouble.

				  DARREN
		What is it, Dave?

				  WHITE
Well, in two words, "I quit."

Cries of disbelief from everyone.

				  WHITE
I realize that as long as I am in charge of
the Team, everyone around me will be a
permanent target. I don't want that, and I'm
		certainly not ready for it.

				  JAMES
What are you talking about? You knew what the
job was all about when you accepted it.

				  WHITE
First point, Commander, is that my job was to
ensure the survival of the Organization. I've
		done that.

				  JAMES
		So far.

				  WHITE
Secondly, I didn't want this job. I've never
wanted this job. I hate this job.

				  JAMES
		Shallow excuse.

				  WHITE
Thirdly, I was drafted back into the Team over
a year and a half ago. That was then, this is
		now.

				  JAMES
I see! You get a little bored with everything
and then you get a little soft around the edges.
Now, when you have to work again, you get scared,
and then you quit, again. You run away again.

Tom enters and tries to shout above everyone currently involved in the dispute.

				  TOM
		Dave. Dave! Dave!!

				  WHITE
Not now, Tom. I'm busy! Again!

White returns to the verbal fight as Tom walks over to an alarm box, and pulls the
alarm. A siren sounds and lights also do the same. The free-for-all stops.

				  TOM
		Now, shut up!
				(pause)
We have...a...situation on our hands. There is
a hostage taking on the West Side.

				  WHITE
Have our Anti-Terrorist Units been activated?

				  TOM
		Yes.

				  ALLAN
		What is it, Tom?

				  TOM
The terrorists are asking for you, Dave.

				  WHITE
		Figures.

				  TOM
		Dave, they have Cassandera.

Long pause of shocked silence. Suddenly, the entire Team moves to leave at the same
time.

INT. SHOPPING CENTRE - DAY

Cassandera is among four other hostages. The terrorists are dressed in desert combat
fatigues. Saida is also there.

				  TERRORIST#1
		White has arrived.

EXT. SHOPPING CENTRE COMMAND POST - DAY

White makes his way through a crowd toward the Command Post, located in the centre
of a maze of police, medical, and Command Seven response vehicles. Finally, he
arrives at the entrance to the Post.

				  WHITE
		Lieutenant.

The Lieutenant snaps to attention and salutes.

				  LIEUTENANT
		Sir!

				  WHITE
		What is the status?

				  LIEUTENANT
We've landed a Team on the roof. Additional
Teams cover all sides of the building.

				  WHITE
		Back doors?

				  LIEUTENANT
One personnel and one freight. There are also
sharpshooters on the roof of that building
		there... there...and there.

Tom arrives at the Command Post.

				  WHITE
		Who are they?

				  LIEUTENANT
They follow a guy named Saida.

				  WHITE
		Saida?

				  TOM
		Sounds familiar.

				  LIEUTENANT
He was in charge of an Israeli Commando Unit
		about seven years ago.

				  ALLAN
Wasn't he the one who attacked Cassandera's Team?

				  LIEUTENANT
We also think he was behind Golliath.

				  WHITE
		He was.

				  ALLAN
What? How can you be so sure? Where's the proof?

				  WHITE
		Does he have Cassandera?

				  LIEUTENANT
		You mean Captain Monchrief, Sir?

White moves against the Lieutenant.

				  WHITE
		Yes.

				  LIEUTENANT
		Yes, Sir!

White moves away.

				  ALLAN
		Lieutenant!

				  LIEUTENANT
		Yes, Sir?

				  ALLAN
Something for you to remember from this point
on. Answer and speak only when spoken to, and
don't try to become entertaining while speaking
or answering. If I catch another response like
that coming from your mouth, I'll sew it shut!
		Understood?

				  LIEUTENANT
		Yes, Sir!

Allan moves to White.

				  WHITE
You wanted proof? Look at it! Look at it!

White is trying to think above his emotions and fears.

				  WHITE
		Lieutenant, get me a bullhorn.

				  LIEUTENANT
		Here, Sir.

				  ALLAN
What are you going to do?

				  WHITE
I don't know. Try to save Cassandera in my
		usual stumbling manner, I guess.

				  ALLAN
Dave, I believe I have a remedy that will just
about serve to everybody's benefit, but there
are strings attached, and I will not help you
unless you meet a few conditions first.

				  WHITE
Conditions? At a time like this? Jesus, Allan,
the terrorists are supposed to be inside, not
		out here.

				  ALLAN
I have my own conditions that I have to live up
		to.

				  WHITE
		Meaning?

				  ALLAN
		I have Montgommery in mind.

White has a look of disdain.

INT. SHOPPING CENTRE - DAY

Saida is pacing back and forth. He looks out toward White.

				  SAIDA
		Something is wrong.

				  CASSANDERA
		Maybe he doesn't like you.

Saida raises his hand to hit Cassandera. She doesn't flinch in any way. He stops.

				  SAIDA
You are impressive, indeed, more so than I ever
imagined. I can see why he wanted you.

				  CASSANDERA
Who's to say that I didn't want him?

Saida smiles.

				  SAIDA
		Indeed.

				  WHITE
				(over bullhorn)
		Saida.

Saida reacts by looking out the window.

				  WHITE
				(over bullhorn)
Saida, I've got a deal for you. Me for all the
		hostages.

				  SAIDA
				(yelling)
That was a bit fast, wasn't it?

				  WHITE
				(over bullhorn)
		No time to waste, remember.

				  SAIDA
				(yelling)
		Indeed.

				  WHITE
				(over bullhorn)
One condition. I have to see she's alright. I
have to see her, Saida, just once more.

Saida thinks the conditions through, then nods. He grabs Cassandera by the hair and
yanks her up.

EXT. SHOPPING CENTRE COMMAND POST - DAY

White watches as Saida hauls Cassandera into view.

				  WHITE
		Okay, that does it.
				(over bullhorn)
		Let them go, Saida.

Saida barks out commands in a foreign language. The hostages step out into police and
Command Seven personnel arms. Cassandera is still being held by Saida.

				  WHITE
				(over bullhorn)
I'm coming in. Let her go. No tricks.

				  SAIDA
				(yelling)
		Your word?

				  WHITE
				(over bullhorn)
		My word.

INT. SHOPPING CENTRE - DAY

Saida nods.

				  SAIDA
				(yelling)
		Begin at once.

EXT. SHOPPING CENTRE COMMAND POST - DAY

White drops his weapons to the ground and walks out from behind cover of the vehicles.

INT. SHOPPING CENTRE - DAY

				  SAIDA
Good-bye, Captain. Until we meet again.

Saida shoves Cassandera into the open. She stops for a few seconds then begins to walk
forward and out the door.

EXT. SHOPPING CENTRE - DAY

As Cassandera walks into the open, White does the same. The two stop when they meet
each other half way.

				  CASSANDERA
What are you doing? This isn't procedure.

				  WHITE
		Screw procedure.

				  CASSANDERA
		Dave?

White looks above her, trying not to meet her eyes.

				  CASSANDERA
Dave, what are you up to? I've never seen that
		look before.

				  WHITE
Cass., promise to remember something for me.

Cassandera looks confused.

				  WHITE
		Promise me!

				  CASSANDERA
Okay, I promise! What is it?

				  WHITE
I love you. I don't know if I've told you that
enough. No matter what you see, or hear, I will
never leave you. I'll always be nearby.

				  CASSANDERA
		Dave?

				  WHITE
		You'll see.

Cassandera looks even more confused.

				  WHITE
		We'd better get moving again.

				  CASSANDERA
		I really do love you.

				  WHITE
		I love you, too.

Cassandera and White fall together in a mad, passionate, almost desperate kiss. They
finally separate, and look at each other. White is the first to look down and away.
When he looks up again, they hold the look for a few more seconds before Cassandera
nods and squeezes his hand. White nods slowly in return, and they both move apart.

EXT. SHOPPING CENTRE COMMAND POST - DAY

				  ALLAN
		Lieutenant.

				  LIEUTENANT
		Sir!

				  ALLAN
Move an additional two squads to the rear. They
are to rush the building on my command.

				  LIEUTENANT
		Sir?

				  ALLAN
		Those are my orders, Lieutenant!

				  LIEUTENANT
But what about the Captain, Sir?

				  ALLAN
I will brief the squads as to what is expected
of them. Now, carry out your orders, Lieutenant!

				  LIEUTENANT
		Yes, Sir!

Cassandera is just about at the first vehicle when, off to her left, she sees the two
squads running toward the back of the store. Daryl and Sam are in the group. Sam
catches her stare and stops. He returns her look. Sam shrugs at Cassandera, almost
helplessly. Daryl finally gets Sam moving by tugging on his arm. Just as the two
resume their run to catch up with the squads, Cassandera, realizing herself, tries to
run back. She is held back by James, Jessica, and Tom.

				  CASSANDERA
		No! Stop! It's suicide!

				  JAMES
It's too late, Cassandera. It's too late.

The fight goes out of Cassandera.

				  JESSICA
		Don't look.

James and Tom let Cassandera go. She is escorted off by Jessica.

EXT. SHOPPING CENTRE - DAY

White turns around to look at Cassandera as she is being taken back to the Command
Post. He turns back toward the store and enters.

INT. SHOPPING CENTRE - DAY

				  SAIDA
She does overreact a bit, doesn't she?

				  WHITE
		Wouldn't you?

				  SAIDA
Indeed. Well, this has been long awaited.

				  WHITE
		Oh, really? Why?

				  SAIDA
Such a typical and foreseeable response. It
		shows no imagination.

				  WHITE
		Saida...

				  SAIDA
Very well. Why? Because I was given a task.
Simply put, to kill you. To ensure your Team
was put out of commission, that's why.

				  WHITE
Then if the Team was gone, that would be that,
		right?

				  SAIDA
		Indeed.

				  WHITE
		Well, good news. I quit.

				  SAIDA
		You underestimate my intelligence.

				  WHITE
Listen, Saida, and listen close. All I want is
peace and quiet. I quit about half an hour ago.
I'm not the Captain anymore. The Team you are
		after is dead.

				  SAIDA
		But the Organization lives on!

				  WHITE
What are you going to do, assassinate every
member of the Organization? Maybe you haven't
noticed, but the Organization's numbers have
continued to increase over the last several years.
Let's be realistic, shall we. Your objective was
the Team, not the Organization. Your job is done.

Saida is thinking about what has been said.

				  SAIDA
Interesting. This will require some thought.

				  WHITE
Take your time. We've got plenty of it. I'm
		retired.

				  SAIDA
		Indeed.

Saida lowers his weapon to sit down. Suddenly, the squads break in and begin to fire.

				  WHITE
		No!

White gets hit by the gunfire and thrown to the floor. The gunfire continues to rip
into Saida and his men.

EXT. SHOPPING CENTRE COMMAND POST - DAY

Cassandera hears the gunfire.

				  CASSANDERA
				(screaming)
		No!

Cassandera pulls away from Jessica's grip, and races toward the building where the
squads now occupy. She is stopped by Tom.

				  TOM
		No, Cassandera, don't.

INT. SHOPPING CENTRE - DAY

The squads enter the building, combat ready, but the fight is over. Sam shoves his
way through the people around White. There are already two medics working on him.

				  SAM
		Move back!

The crowd of Command Seven members move back.

				  MEDIC#1
		Pulse gone.

				  MEDIC#2
		Starting C.P.R.

They quickly move White to a stretcher and out to the ambulance.

EXT. SHOPPING CENTRE COMMAND POST - DAY

A T.V. crew moves up.

				  SAM
Get these idiots out of the way.

From the P.O.V. of the camera, Darren pushes the cameraman back. Cassandera is
standing by, obviously in shock. The Reporter moves to Cassandera.

				  REPORTER
Captain Monchrief, how do you feel about this
incident? Did you know about the orders to move
in, or did you issue them yourself?

Tom moves in the way.

				  TOM
		Back off.

				  REPORTER
		But...

				  TOM
		Move it!

The Reporter moves to Medic#2 as he closes the back door of the ambulance and makes
his way to the drivers door.

				  REPORTER
		How is he?

				  MEDIC#2
		What?

				  REPORTER
		How is Captain White?

				  MEDIC#2
		He's dead.

The Medic#2 carries on toward the driver's door. As the door opens, Allan can be seen
sitting inside. Cassandera slumps into a vehicle.

				  REPORTER
		George, get this.

The video camera zooms in on Cassandera.

				  CASSANDERA
No, no, no, no! Dave? Dave, where are you?
Where the hell are you, you bastard? You
		promised to be here!

Cassandera bursts into tears. Suddenly, the bulk of Sam, James, and Daryl move in
between Cassandera and the camera. Daryl shoves the Reporter back hard, and the
cameraman retreats, as seen by the camera P.O.V.

				  DARYL
Get the hell out of here.

				  REPORTER
Do you have any comment on the botching of
		this hostage situation?

				  JAMES
		Yeah, get lost!

				  REPORTER
You can't order us around. We're not one of
your little toy soldiers, we're civilians!

Daryl takes a step toward the Reporter. The Reporter moves back. The ambulance pulls
away.

				  REPORTER
Come on, George. This story is done. Let's try
to beat the ambulance to the hospital.

The camera shot goes down to the ground.

INT. WHITE'S DEN - NIGHT

				  ANCHORPERSON
Condolences go out to Captain Monchrief. We are
		sorry. Goodnight.

The screen goes blank. Jessica and Cassandera are sitting side by side.

				  CASSANDERA
You're alive, you bastard. I know you are.

A look of concern crosses Jessica's face after hearing Cassandera. Sam and Tom enter
and come up behind Jessica.

				  SAM
				(quietly)
		How is she?

				  JESSICA
I'm worried, Sam. She really does believe he's
		still alive.

				  TOM
		Hmmmm.

EXT. EMPTY HIGHWAY - SUNSET

An ambulance is racing down an empty highway and into the sunset. As the ambulance
disappears, the Credits begin to run.

                           CLOSING MUSIC AND CREDITS
