TELEVISION DIRECTOR

INFORMATION ABOUT THE WORK I DID AT AMERICA'S VOICE

Thanks to Beth for the pictures
Me and some of the Americas Voice production party people!!

NET relaunched the network a couple of years ago and was called AMERICA'S VOICE. everything were basically still the same (we just had some new shows and look).

We were live for about four hours a night Monday through Friday. I directed about eight hours of live television a week. It would always be nice to direct more but we didn't have that many shows. All the shows had a lot of b-roll, still stores, remotes, and different switcher effects. Some shows were more busy than others, but it was still fun.

I also Technical Directed anywhere from two to five hours a week.

Here are a list of the shows I have directed

All the shows are live

Election 99 coverage Off the Fence with Susan Molinari
Midweek with Matalin [Taped]
The Hotline
Red, White, and Views with Cal Thomas
Off the Fence with Armstrong Williams
Capital View with Julian Epstein
The First Producers Club
Goin' Global
The Spiteful Ones
Take Action America
Election 98 coverage
Legal Notebook
Michael Reagan Show
Endangered Liberties
Youngbloods
Ric Edelman's Money University
Direct Line
America's Voice Tonight
Take Action Now
Insights with Robert Novak [Taped]

I was also a fill-in Director for any other show that needed me.

Information about the work I did when we were called NET

All the shows I did were live, hour long, national shows. There are about twelve to thirteen million viewers and even more if you count people who receive the station via satellite dish. We did seven live shows back to back, Monday through Friday. I enjoyed working there because I love live television.

I also Technical Directed on a Grass Valley 250 switcher and used a variety of still stores (over the shoulder, full page graphics, etc.) and an ABEKAS Dual Channel DVE . Most of the shows had a mini newscast at the top (tape roll-ins, double boxes, etc.) and then the host interviews the guest. At the bottom of the hour, we would go to the newsroom for a one minute newscast, and of course there are commercials.

The crew had a great teamwork attitude and everyone went the extra mile to make the shows look great. There are three things I enjoy about the job:
1) I was directing live television
2) I always had a full crew (me and nine other people).
3) I'm was still allowed to floor direct and run camera so I can always stay versatile.

These are the shows I direct/have directed
99% of these shows are/were live
