McNabb No Relief
Bucs defeat Birds 19-5
QB Controversy now in full gear.
No Eagles season would be complete without a real good
quarterback controversy. And today the New Coach has decided to
go to the next level in creating controversy. Inexplicably
bringing in Donovan McNabb over starter Doug
Pederson who may or may not have hurt his shoulder. Well
at the least Talk Radio won't suffer!

Well Coach Reid seems to be in a bit of trouble with
the quarterback mess he is orchestrating. Making it worse
by not mentioning who will be a starter for next weeks
game. Reid's predecessor was in this same position every
week the last few years. Reid has to make a decision to
either go with McNabb or say he's not ready and stick
with Pederson. But the rotation thing is not going to
work. Neither players it seems are that good for that to
happen. |

HOAGIES -- Stars of the Game
- RB - Kevin Turner-- I guess taking a pay cut
motivates a fellow? Turner who earlier this week had the
last year of his contract terminated and took a pay cut
for this year, had 6 catches for 32 yards. If he
continues this play, this will certainly help the Weak
Coast Offense spring to life.
- RB - Duce Staley -- With only 42 yards on the
ground, Staley picked up another 22 yards receiving. As
he once again is the leader in yards gained for this
terrible offense.
- CB - Troy Vincent-- a sack and an interception
puts Vincent on the Plus Side of the game.
KRIMPETS -- Soft players of the Game.
- K - Norm Johnson -- Missed 2 field goals one from
50 yards and one from 26 when Johnson was not prepared to
get on the field. I also blame Special Teams coach John
Harbaugh, who should have had his kicker on the sideline
prepared to run on the field instead of kicking the ball
into the net. Horrible. That shouldn't happen in the NFL.
- Eagles Quarterbacks -- Combined the two
combined for 122 yards passing. Not even good enough to
even make last years team. Something has to be done now.
- Eagles Offensive Line -- This line must
improve or someone might be killed. This is not a threat.
It's a prediction. McNabb or Pederson better take a good
life insurance policy, because they will be buried out
there with such a pourous line. Someone has to help them
out.
Keep an Eye on'em:
Doug Brzezinski -- The Right Guard might actually prove
that this line won't be so bad..
Numerology-- Key Stats
- 9 Sacks. Reminds me of Randall's rookie year. The only
reason not to play McNabb is only for his health. Warren
Sapp had a huge day, in on 4 sacks himself.
- 1.7 -- The number of yards per pass. You have to love
that West Coast Offense.
- 3 penalties for 45 yards. Well this team is more
disciplined than last year.
Key Plays
- Mike Mamula's best hit of the day,
unfortunately cost the Eagle's their starting Defensive
End and sack leader from last year, Hugh Douglas,
who went out with a sprain knee. Douglas already had a
sack in the game. If this is a serious injury. This long
year just got longer. You know I might be thinking Mamula
was doing this on purpose to regain a starting spot? Hmmm....
- Turner makes catch just before the botched field goal
without a chance to get to the sidelines to stop the
clock. Not really his fault... He's just catching the
ball. But the receivers have to know to get over there.
