American Animation Links

Both the Disney and Warners studios zealously guard their copyrighted characters, and thus Image Archives of Disney characters and Looney Tunes tend to be short lived. Therefore, the links that follow tend to be either appreciation pages or the official pages of the studios. Out of courtesy, I've listed the offical pages first.

The Official Disney Site Uncle Walt would be proud.

The Official Warner Brothers Site Yes, this site is geared mainly towards kids, but some of you older folks might get a kick out of it!

The Official Chuck Jones Site Yes, the late, famed animation director has his own page, including (naturally)some animated GIFs.

Save Disney provides essential reading material for anyone - stockholders, critics, fans - who believe the Walt Disney Company has lost its way in the 21st Century. This is a must-visit site for anyone who truly cares about the magic that once was Walt Disney Studios.

DC Comics is the publisher of some of the best known comicbooks in the world. If you dig deep enough on their site, you will find a message board dedicated to Batman:The Animated Series and its various offshoots and spinoffs.

AdCritic is an archive of most television commercials over the past few years. It's a valuable resource for anyone who'd like to see the original team up between Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny, as well as many of the Cartoon Network promos. Subscription only.

The Animation Nerd's Paradise Truly a labor of love, the Paradise is a mammoth collection of reviews, essays, and an incredible set of links to many animation art dealers. You could easily spend days at this site. Highly recommended! Michelle Klein-Hass, the creator and onetime maintainer of this page, is also a contributor to Toon Magazine. It's too bad that the page will no longer be updated. I wish Michelle the best in her future endeavors.

The New and Improved Rabbit Hole A terrific fan-based Disney page with tons of pictures and sounds. Courtney's got quite a collection of graphics and whatnot, and the page is very well organized.By all means check it out!

Pinky and the Brain Lab Notes Here's a comprehensive collection of information on one of the best animated series of 1990s American TV. Included are episode synopses and trivia.

The Portfolio of Keri Wood is an online portfolio of an animation student in Southern California. Keri is very talented, and if you'd like a first-person look at what it's like to study animation in the year 2001 at a great school, visit Keri's site.

Secret of NIMH Archive Comprehensive site about the legendary Don Bluth production has HTML versions of virtually ever press article about NIMH available in BC

Toontracker's Terrytoons Page Mighty Mouse and other Terrytoons were probably a staple of your childhood TV viewing habits if you're 35 or older. You can read all about them at this well-researched web page. It is also worth looking at Ron Kurer's other Toontracker pages; they chronicle many of the forgotten chapters of animation. The Bullwinkle page elsewhere on the Toontracker site even includes a photo of the Bullwinkle puppet!

Topher's Breakfast Cereal Character Guide is a graphics-filled website devoted to all those animated characters who exist only in television cereal commercials.

TV Party is a website for which the word "awesome" easily applies. Part online archive of lost TV commercials, part groovy nostalgia . . . animation fans will especially appreciate the complete Saturday Morning Schedules from the 60s to the 80s, as well as several hard-to-find early commercials featuring the Flintstones and Cap'n Crunch. Sadly, TV Party is also largely a subscription site, so good luck.
