#2 - The front view of the shrine in my bedroom. This shrine takes up two bookshelf cases (that I don't have pictures of), my dresser top and most of my wallspace. When you walk into the room you see Scarlett running away from Tara, and other GWTW things I have displayed there. (Of course, if you turn around, you'll see my sister's Wizard of Oz shrine, put there, I am sure, just to spite me).
#3 - This is the view of my shrine from the top so you can see the items on the dresser. I'll explain about them if you click the link! :)
#4 - GWTW plate. I love these plates, and this is my favourite. This one is of Scarlett in the outfit that she wears to the mill. With it is the card that was enclosed, and the certificate.
#5 - GWTW plate. This is one of Scarlett surrounded by admirers at the barbeque. It is displayed with the certificate and brochure that came with it.
#6 - GWTW Mini Plates. These are quite lovely... one of them is of The Proposal, and the other of Scarlett and Ashley when she asks him to run away with her. You can't see the proposal too well... it was in a shadow. They are displayed with their ceritificate.
#7 - GWTW Barbies. Scarlett in her green dress, and Rhett in an incredably ugly hat (much too big for his head). These are kept in a beautiful glass and wood case with a mirror at the back that my parents bought me, but are pictured just on the table. :)
#8 - GWTW Ornaments. I'm sure most of you have the Hallmark GWTW Ornaments. Here are mine, from 1997 to 1999. Can't wait for the next one (if there is one!).
#9 - GWTW Soundtrack and Playing Cards. The CD is quite lovely... it is fun trying to fit in the dialogue from the movie that goes with some of the music. I get too caught up in the story to listen most of the time, so it was a very nice gift. The playing cards came in a GWTW tin (I propped the lid up so you could see - it looks much better in real life). I haven't taken the plastic off the cards (nor will I) so they may look a little strange.
#10 - Porcelin Trading Cards. There are four of these... very lovely, and they do have a certificate. I didn't include it because it is in the safe at this point. :) One is of the firey embrace, one of Scarlett, one of Rhett, and one of the barbeque scene.
#11 - GWTW Music Box. LOVELY music box that plays Tara's Theme. It has red velvety lining and is beautifully painted. It does have a certificate that we got out of the safe the day after the picture was taken. :) It just isn't pictured.
#12 - GWTW Books. At least, some of them. Click on the link to find out what they are, but I have a million more copies of GWTW... I have one for my cottage, one for car trips, one that I've written notes in, one by my computer... ah, yes, and my old copies. :)
#13 - Another GWTW Book. This is a close up of one of my best resource materials... "David O. Selznick's Gone With the Wind" by Ronald Haver.
#14 - Yet Another GWTW Book. This is The Pictorial History of GWTW... great pictures but the information lacks details. :)
#15 - My GWTW Mug. Not terribly impressive... we bought it in the states for about $5.00... it is pictured with the box it came in.
#16 - Pop Up Cards. These are 3-D pop ups... from "Hollywood Pop Shots". Great cards!!! They were quite a find for me... but everyone probably has them. :)
#17 - My Bonnie Blue Butler Doll. This was given to me at Christmas by my parents. You can't see of the doll (still in her box) in the picture... hopefully a new one will be coming soon to replace it. :)
#18 - My GWTW Column. I made this in grade 10 art class... we were studying Greek and Roman columns and were to do some columns in any way we would like to. I chose (of course) to depict Scarlett, Rhett, Melanie and Ashley in wood, outline the lines with pen, and write "Margaret Mitchell's" across the top beam, and "Gone With the Wind" across the bottom. It was displayed in a museum art show!!!! :)
#19 - My Big GWTW Picture. This is the huge picture you can kind of see in my shrine picture. A lovely picture I found in a pile of old movie pictures... it takes up a good chunk of my wall space and I adore it! It pictures Scarlett running away from Tara (opening scene, pretty much) and Mammy's hand pulling back the curtain, ready to pop her head out the window. Great picture! :)) I'm very proud of it!
#20 - My GWTW Plaque. I just got this... it's from a series of plaques. I chose the one of Scarlett and Rhett on their honeymoon, but there are lots to choose from (I hope to have them all someday, but they're pretty steep at about $28 each....)
There are more things that aren't pictured.... like my LOVELY GWTW PHOTOGRAPHS my mum found for me.... And my GWTW trading cards (I have the whole set!) and my GWTW poster... and the items that I have ordered in.... and my calendar.... and so much more. :) Come back soon!
