From Cinequanon's web site...
Francesca (JULIE DELPY) still carries the pain of a past- and a husband (PATRICK DEMPSEY)- she is running from. Dolly (PAM GIDLEY) saves every penny she earns with the dream of opening her own restaurant with her female cop lover (YANCY BUTLER). And the frail fragile Mimi (GEORGINA CATES) gives all her earnings to the church- hoping that god will send a saviour.
But two pivotal days will forever change the lives of these working girls. Tony (DANIEL BALDWIN), the brothel's pimp, announces he is hosting the birthday party of the Mayor (SEYMOUR CASSEL). One of the girls will get to be the surprise treat that jumps from the Mayor's birthday cake.
Francesca, Michelle, and Mimi must survive business as usual- including a visit from the insane Colonel (ALFRED MOLINA)- till the Mayor's party, when events will force them to rise above their circumstances and, for once, allow life to treat them.
My comments:
Interesting that there are two very different posters (go to the pictures section to download these) - one may be an older version as there's no mention of Julie Delpy, but instead has Christina Applegate. YB is billed as a "special appearance".
