"In any language it means I Love You"

Valentines Day

Reasons to Love Men

They've got that comfortable place on their shoulder that's perfect for snuggling into while we fall asleep.

They're enthusiastic about our bodies, even when we're not.

Bravery around snakes, waterbugs, bats and flat tires.

Their ability to solve problems simply by throwing a ball around.

How tender they get when they cry, and how seldom they do it.

What they lack in talk, they tend to make up for in action.

They make excellent companions when driving through rough neighborhoods or walking past dark alleys.

Their near-endless appetite for discussing the ins and outs of work and money - ours as well as theirs.

jobs any intelligent woman can do but would be nuts to volunteer for.

They rarely lie about their age, their weight, or their clothing size.

How awestruck they are in the face of a Wonderbra or a homemade cookie.

How nice their butts look in jeans.

How nice their hands look holding ours.

Their ignorance is usually amusing

They have a great sense of competition

They give great hugs, ( and always melt our hearts when a sweet "I love you" is added)

Though they often try to hide it, they're very tenderhearted and caring

They have an uncanny ability to look deeply into our eyes and connect with our heart, even when we don't want them to

They don't care whether colors match, but are willing to be concerned if we want them to be

They give us a peek at the little boy inside when they get sick or happy or hurt.

Surprising Thing I Just Learned
And Want To Share

You know how seeing your guy take off his tie
after a long, day is unexpectedly sexy?
( Well, It really is for me! )

Anyway, I just learned that one thing that we do
equally turns him on too
Cleaning ! Yep,
who would have guessed it!
seems all that bending down,
scrubbing those hard to reach places
really does it for him

Jeeze ladies
I say we get scrubbing
A clean house AND a happy man!

Thought I'd share that one with you!
Wink!

Reply from Carrie in PA....
Carrie writes:
What is your secret for such a long happy marriage?

Well, Carrie, I think mutual respect..and communication was the key to my marriage..
If I felt something was bothering me, we talked about it
most couples today lead such busy lives..they don't take the time to really talk.. I learned to become a really good listener too... my goal was to please my husband.
I always had a good meal on the table when he came home.. the house was always clean..
I know that this may seem a bit old school because it is hard when two people work..
I was fortunate enough to take time off from the work scene to raise my children..not too many families can do that these days.. and that is sad to me..
I also made it a personal choice never to go to bed angry, resolve the problem and bury it forever!..Don't harbor anger, and bring it up later..
My thing was to "tuck" little notes in his pocket in the morning before he left for work, a simple "I Love You" or smile face was all that it took to make his day..
When he did have a bad day, I always made sure that when he came home I had some sort of suprise waiting to make him smile...
I think it's the little things that we did for each other are the things that mean the most... Tell your guy you love him every day, he will never get tired of hearing it !

Michele from CA writes:
How long have you been writing poetry..and where do you get your inspiration?...

Michele..I have been writing poetry since I was ten years old.. most of my poetry is written for or about people I love..
or places and things I dream of.. it is the one part of me I choose to share.. each day brings a different emotion which I put into words on paper... thank you for your kinds words.. I am so glad you enjoy my work

Mike From NY writes:

I'm looking for a woman just like you.. Marry Me!

Mike.. (blushing) Thanks for the propsal..
However, I am not looking for a husband at the moment..LOL...your e mail was sweet though...

Jackie from NJ writes:
Please tell more about this teacher you had that thing for! Don't keep us in the dark...

Jackie... Ok..I guess that was a tease huh?..I have always been attracted to intelligent men
I was young..with raging hormones..what can I say?... unfortunately, he made it very clear that he did not date his students...I of course was crushed...
He later married..and as far as I knew..he was very happy with four children..
BTW...He passed me with a final grade of a B...I think I scared the hell out of him and he just wanted me out of his class! LOL

Diane from Texas writes:
Discribe your ideal man...

Oh boy Diane..you really put me on the spot..well..here it goes... as I said before...intelligent men attract me..strong yet sensitive when it counts.. good sense of humor..has to love sports..Yankee and Mets fans are a plus..a romantic.. a good listener..responsible..confident..sexy..muscular/athletic.. spontaneous..outgoing..dependable..honest..
if he loves the ocean..well, he's the one!..

Patti from CA writes:
If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around, does it make a sound?

Patti, oh boy...for this answer I contacted a friend who is a professor at FDU..Dang if I know..LOL..
His answer: Yes, and No...depending on what you define sound as....If you look at sound as just vibrations in the air that are turned into sound when it hit our eardrums and the information is transmitted to our brains then interpreted..and there are no creatures with eardrums nearby, then nobody is there to interpret it as sound...it's just vibrations..if you count the mere air vibrations themselves as sound.. then it doesn't matter if anyone is there to hear it... it's making vibrations.. and therefore making sound...

Another one worth answering:
Joey from DC writes:
Do brown M&M's taste different from the colored ones?

Joey... Gee..I guess I will answer this one myself.. since I love M&M's!...Wait let me open the bag and see..LOL... Nope they all taste the same!..Research is such fun sometimes!

Linda from Utah writes:
I am also a widow..tell me how do you cope and move forward?

Linda...I will share with you an experience I had in the very beginning..Whenever my husband and I drove anywhere.. I never took notice of directions..I put the music on..sang along as he drove.. and he always got us to where we needed to go.. Well, soon after his death..I wanted to visit my daughter in her new location down the parkway/turnpike in South Jersey..I realized as I was driving that I had no clue how to get to her new home!.. after all.. he did the driving not me...
I made a wrong turn somewhere along the turnpike, and ended up in some desolate area of my state..all I saw around me were open fields, farms, and cows...jeeze..I pulled over.. and began to cry..I must have sat there for at least an hour. I was so upset that I could not even find my way to my own daughter..

A very nice man pulled his car behind mine, and saw that I was in tears and offered his help. as I cried on the shoulder of a complete stranger.. in between sobs..telling him my whole life story.. he patted my back, telling me it was going to be ok.. he directed me back to my destination..but before doing so..he told me that I had to get tough..and learn to cope with life's mistakes. at that moment I realized that I had better stop feeling sorry for myself..get tough..and move forward... I was on my own, and had to face the fact that I had to learn how to take care of me..
I never forgot the kindness of that man..and how patient and understanding he was.. I never even asked his name..but his face I will remember always. my point is this.. you do learn to do for yourself.. life does go on.. and although I sometimes still feel sorry for myself now and again.. I have learned to cut the lawn, balance the checkbook, check my oil in my car. etc.. The man that stopped to help me could have been an axe murderer for all I knew..but at that moment..all I was feeling was my pain..I did not stop to think of the worst... I was lucky that he was a very nice man.. so I do not recommend handling a similar situation as I did..being so trusting these days is not a good idea..but you understand the point I am making..
Life does go on, and with time you do learn to cope..the memories will always be in your heart..cherish those..but do go on living..

Sandra from New York writes:
My boyfriend of five years cheated on me.. my friends say dump him.all men cheat given the chance..what's your opinion?

Sandra...Wow...that's a pretty harsh statement.. not ALL men cheat.. I don't know your guy..but my feeling is that if you are involved in a realationship that long, working on repairing it would be my first choice of action..follow your heart.. I say "dump" the friends that said that to you..sheese..please keep in touch with me..we'll talk more..

Frank from VA writes:
Where do you stand on Controversial Social Issues..Political..Educational..Health..Etc??...

Frank..Loaded question here, don't you think?..honestly, I may offend some by answering this..but I will anyway.. cause.. if you don't agree with my view.. "oh well".. I don't think the thought of genetically engineered food makes me hungry..I am not crazy about the way stem cell research is being tossed aside..I believe in organ donation...I believe in equal pay for women.. I do not agree with capital punishment..nor do I agree with animal experimentation..I do think year round school is a good idea..and I hope we have learned that school safety is a priority.. I do not believe in religious expression in the school....and I also think cloning is a crock..I'm all for research programs, but put the money used to good use, not some crap that half the world could care less about...oh, and helping the poor and homeless in "our" country first would be a good idea too..don't get me started on school dress codes.. some of the kids I see walking out of school makes me say to myself "what is wrong with parents these days?"..Don't they look at what their kids are wearing to class?.. telling me that I can not say "Merry Christmas" also rattles me, what's with this Happy Holiday crap?..and yes, I do think abortion is a woman's choice.. ideologies are an excuse for people to avoid thinking..once people adopt a political philosophy that has all of the answers, they stop thinking and start rationalizing, I find it difficult to take anybody's opinions seriously when it is clear that they started with the answers, and then worked backward to select facts that would support their views, and ignore the facts that don't...in short, if you want me to take your opinions seriously, you will have to convince me that you in fact understand both sides of an issue... and hey.. we have a nice planet here..let's not destroy it..enough said??..

Lisa from WA writes:
What's the perfect lip color for all skin types?

Lisa...I would think a nude shade with a bit of gloss, my favorites are "just kissed" made by Paula's Choice, it is a nude shade with a hint of pink..my signature color is made by MAC Cosmetics..it's "chaismatic" a peachy tone.. I have very light blonde hair and blue/green eyes, then again I love the reds too..my fav is made by L'Oreal.. it's called "drumbeat red"..that is for those days when you really want to get noticed!..oh la la..

Janice from GA writes:
How would you define love?

Janice..Love is beyond all possibility of definition, because it has no boundaries..One doesn't learn about love by defining it, one learns about love by becoming it... it is giving instead of taking..listening instead of talking..forgiving instead of resenting..trusting instead of defending..

Rules Guys Wish Women Knew

If you ask us if you are fat
we are going to always say NO
it's safer that way!

Learn to work the toilet seat
You're a big girl
if it's up put it down

Don't cut your hair shorter than his
Ever!

Birthdays, Valentines Day and Anniversaries
are not quests to see
if we can find the perfect gift
yet again!

Sometimes, we are not thinking about you
like in the middle of a football game
live with it!

Shopping is not a sport
and no, guys will never think of it that way

Crying is a form of blackmail

Ask for what you want
and need, and NO.. subtle
hints do not count

Check your oil, PLEASE!

Come to us with a problem
ONLY if you want help solving it
That's what we do
Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for

If something we said can be interpreted two ways,
and one of them makes you angry or sad
We meant the other one

If you won't dress like the Victoria's Secret girls
Don't expect us to act
like the soap opera guys

Don't rub the lamp
If you don't want the genie to come out!

This list came directly from my guy friends,
NOT from me
I thought it was kinda cute

                   "The Strength of a Man"

The strength of a man isn't seen in the width of his shoulders.
It's in the width of his arms that encircle you.

The strength of a man isn't in the deep tone of his voice.
It's in the gentle words he whispers.

The strength of a man isn't how many buddies he has.
It's how good of buddies he is with his children.

The strength of a man isn't in how respected he is at work.
It's in how respected he is at home.

The strength of a man isn't in how hard he hits.
It's in how tender he touches.

The strength in a man isn't in the hair on his chest.
It's in his Heart...that lies within his chest.

The strength of a man isn't how many women he's loved.
It's in can he be true to one woman.

The strength of a man isn't in the weight he can lift.
It's in the burdens he can carry.
