Some of us have friends
that we really do believe in
Then of course there are the ones
we find are so deceiving
Some of us have lots of friends
while others don't have any
Some just have one special friend
that takes the place of many
Some friendships stand the test of time
can weather any storm
Others will be torn apart
when the first ill wind comes along
There are friendships built on love
respect trust and honesty
While some destroy your soul
your strength and drain you mentally
Some friends can talk that friendship talk
but can they walk the walk
If differences lead to disagreement
will they say it's all your fault
Will they give you a lift
if they find you stranded on the road of adversity
Or will they cruise on by and think to themselves
"I'm glad that it's not me"
A real friend always will be true
no if ands buts or whys
They won't make empty promises
or fill your head with lies
So if you have a friend
or two that's there when you're in need
And you would do the same for them
then you are friends indeed
