Runaround.....I think this was the 70s but feel free to correct me if you must. Lots of children running to (hopefully) correct answers on tv screens, while Mike Reid yelled...."Runaraaaaaaaaaound.....Noooaaaaaaawwwww!!!!! Was later replaced by Gary Crowley (probably in the 80s..ner ner!) who was I think a Capital Radio DJ.
Playaway.........wasn't it great? Not least because it featured Brian Cant, who was like everyone's dad, and the brilliant Derek Griffiths. Appearances were also put in by Susan Strank (Paperplay) and Tony Robinson.
Claim to fame...the Playaway team came to my school (Plessington High School, Wirral, UK if you wondered)to do some of our drama sessions. Boss!
POP QUIZ.......Which Eastender and Hollywood actor both appeared in Playaway?

Multicoloured Swap Shop. OK, easy question; Swap Shop or Tiswas? Easy answer, if you ask me. Pioneers of outside broadcasts with phrases abounding like "it's a bit wet out here Noel" being uttered by a very damp Keith Chegwin. We weren't allowed to watch it after my brother tried to swap me for a scalextric car. Hmm.
A kick up the 80s.... |
