While her sisters polarize to be either extremely tough or naive, Piper remains a subtle mixture of both. She can be tough if necessary but is usually more inclined toward being timid, caring, and soft-hearted. Piper is as down-to-earth and as natural as they come. She hs an affinity towards cooking and possesses the power to freeze time.
This has been the Halliwells "Guide Book" to witchcraft. It has not only helped them acquire their powers but ward off the evils that have tried to destroy them. The Book has been in the Halliwell family for generations and includes different spells for different situations. Each generation of Halliwells contributes tit he cause of protecting the innocent by placing spells inside the Book for generations to come. The three Halliwell sisters have been designated as the "Charmed Ones" to form the power of three. Simply put, "The power of three" is made up of three powerful witches as defined by the Book of Shadows, a central "Character" in the show one could say. The sisters must fulfill their role in the family lineage, where every female has been "Charmed" since the 1600's in Salem, Massachusetts. Therefore, they must use their power to protect the innocent who are threatened by warlocks and entities who choose to use their own powers for evil. The sisters must also protect the Book of Shadows, their one true resource, and they must also make sure their powers are carried on to the next generation-for when they bear children, only the females will carry on the legacy.
Prudence Halliwell
Prudence, or Pru as she is referred to, is the eldest of the Halliwell sisters. As her name suggests, Pru is very "Prudent" indeed. She has the toughest personality and is the most level-headed of the three.
Always cautious of their actions, Pru's the one that keeps the Halliwell's grounded and careful with their powers. She has the power of telekinesis, which basically means that she can launch objects at you from across the room with her mind if you tick her off.
In the beginning Pru attempts to persuade her sisters that their powers should not be used. This will create alot of friction as time goes by.
Piper Halliwell
Piper is the middle sister in the Halliwell family. Just like her familial role, Piper's personality lies between those of her two sisters.
Phoebe Halliwell
As the youngest of the Halliwell sisters, Phoebe embodies the naivety and sometimes gullibility that her youthfulness brings.
She is somewhat unwise to the ways of the world, which consequently makes her fall prey to those who set out to get the Halliwells. Phoebe is carefree which her polar to her sister Pru who is careful; thus, they are in constant conflict.
Phobe possesses the power to see the future. All of this starts when Phoebe comes back to the Halliwell House after the death of her grandmother. This is very troublesome at first because Pheobe is a "Free Spirit" living one day at a time and appears irresponsible to the oldest sister, Pru.
