The First 13 Weeks

WOW! This first trimester has gone by pretty fast, and has been somewhat different than my pregnancy with Cameron. I had morning/afternoon/evening sickness this time around...luckily, it wasn't every day, but I did have it the majority of the time. It went away around the 11th week of pregnancy, luckily! My appetite has also been much different-I have had an aversion to any type of meat since I found out I was pregnant. I have had to force myself to eat, too, even when I'm not nauseous. My energy levels are finally picking back up...I was SOOOO tired, no matter how much sleep I got, for most of this trimester. Also, that frequency of urination thing has kicked in from the get-go! I am one of those "lucky" women who has that for her ENTIRE pregnancy...UGH! So far, I haven't gained any weight...and as a matter of fact, I have lost a few pounds since the beginning of my pregnancy- but I am not concerned, since I have some post-pregnancy weight from Cameron that I never lost, anyways! What's weird about that is that my waistline is starting to expand...my jeans and shorts are getting tighter on me, and my chest is noticably bigger, but I just haven't put any weight on yet! My emotions this time around have been pretty good-I don't feel like an emotional basketcase this pregnancy, like I was with my last one. Maybe it's because I know what to expect this time around...or maybe it's because I'm too busy chasing around Cameron to even think about it! DH has been really supportive of me- the days that I am just exhausted...he'll come home from working a 12 hour shift, and let ME take a nap! What a guy! =) I am very excited about the new baby, though...not only having another precious bundle of joy to add to our family, but for Cameron to have a sibling and be a big brother! I was a little worried about it at first, since the kids will be 20 months apart, but Cameron has never showed any signs of jealousy (YET!), and he plays SO well with other kids. He'll walk up to other children when we are out at the store and try and play...he's so friendly! I think he'll really enjoy being a big brother. That's pretty much it for my first trimester...one down, two to go!
