I had a contraction this week! No biggie, just a Braxton-Hicks contraction. I didn't really feel it happening, but I pressed on my belly and felt that my uterus was hard as a rock! Pretty neat...it seems strange that my body probably has these quite frequently without me even knowing it. Now if active labor contractions could be as painless...WHOA I'd be a lucky woman! Everything is going pretty well this week. I still feel the baby move a little bit each day, although it is not in a regular pattern like it probably will be later on this trimester. Some of the kicks and flips have gotten a little bit stronger, but I've read that the baby is only about 5 inches long or so, so there's not too much damage he/she can do in there just yet!! This week, I went to my sister-in-law's and her best friend's baby shower (they are due within a week of each other). I had lots of fun there...even though I don't know her friends too well, I feel comfortable in a room full of pregnant women! We played 3 different baby shower games, none of which I won...oh well! All of the girls there were much farther along that I am, and most are due sometime between the months of April and May. Unfortunately, nobody there could tell that I was pregnant, which made me sad, because I must still be in that "fat" stage of pregnancy. I was wearing maternity shorts that hold your belly in more than usual, and one of my husband's t-shirts (I'm not big enough for most maternity shirts just yet), but still...I was disappointed! I think I am huge...I do look much bigger when I am wearing lighter-cotton maternity clothing. Anyways, I am excited because I have an OB appointment coming up soon, and I'll finally get to hear the baby's heartbeat. See ya soon!
