History
I was born in London, England in the beginning of the year
1981. My parents were both stationed in the navy there. They met, fell in love,
and had me, all in the course of about two years. Very romantic stuff - my mom
was already engaged at the time.
They had four kids in the next 6 years, and moved from
London to D.C, from D.C. to Pennsylvania, and lived in three different houses
in Pennsylvania. Change is, and always has been a way of life for us.
Then we moved to Texas and stayed there for awhile (3
years). Then we moved to Michigan and stayed there for awhile (2 years) and
adopted 2 more kids. Then we moved to Minnesota and stayed there for awhile
(okay, one year) and adopted three more kids. Then we moved back to
Pennsylvania. Picture it. You leave some place when you're
eleven with three brothers and sisters, then you come back six years later with
eleven of them. It's weird.
Fast-forward. I live some more, I learn some more, I graduate high school. I fall in with this guy and get married six months later.
Today we've been married for two-and-a-half years and have a baby of five months. Nice, huh?
General Overview
I'm 5'4.5", have really long, blonde hair, green eyes, and I'm pretty. I'm about five pounds overweight, but I carry it well.
I sing. I was once paid to sing in a wedding. That was fun. I like to play wind instruments, especially
tin whistles. I'm obsessive about
art
, internet technologies, and theology. I read
books
about XML and deep
stuff for fun. I also read fantasy and kids' books. And some sci-fi and a
little mystery.
I believe in
love
.
I like to ride my bike. I like to explore. I wouldn't know how to drive except that I had to learn because my boyfriend didn't have a car, and I did. I want to go to
college to study computers and art and stuff, but I don't have the time or money right now. I'm smart. Not a genius, but pretty smart.
I love the color
blue
. I hate the color
pink
.
I love black and grey. I'm not overly fond of
yellow
, either.
I admire the works of M. C. Escher, Brian Froud, Jim Henson, Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, and Don Barnett.
I think Bach is the greatest classical composer. I think
Live is the greatest rock band ever, and I also greatly admire Plankeye's CD,
Commonwealth. Kevin Max Smith, Ed Kowalczyk, and Michael Crawford are the best
vocalists in the world. Mark Knopfler is also excellent.
My favorite theologians are Rich Mullins, Tony Campolo,
Joshua Girzone, C. S. Lewis, and Brennan Manning. Right now I am reading all
the C. S. Lewis I can get my hands on.
I follow Jesus Christ, and I'm not ashamed of it. I'm not
too keen on modern 'religion', though. I think a lot of us have missed the point. I'm a Christian, but I'm not a
stereotypical thoughtless fundamentalist. I love the Bible for many reasons.
I believe that true religion is about helping those in
need and to establish Christ's goodness inside one's self that is not affected by the
world. Any Christian who has a problem with this can go read James 1:27. I
believe that the best way to establish a relationship with Jesus Christ is to
go and show kindness to those that are uncared for . Any Christian who has a
problem with this can go read Matthew 25. I believe that it is easier for a whore with a
soft and ready heart to get into heaven than a rich man who thinks he already knows how.
And I hope I don't have to defend that statement to any Christian.
