Love

A great passage about love.

I have strong feelings about love. I think it's underrated. And underestimated. And underused. And undervalued. And I don't think we work hard enough for it. We expect it to be there like a sunrise- day in, day out- but it's not always that simple or that easy. I think too often we expect it to be returned the same way it was given.

Jesus taught about turning the other cheek, and about giving our shirt to the man who stole our coat, and about walking two miles for the man who asks us to walk one. Most importantly, he taught about loving our enemies. We write that off. Christians, I mean. It's kind of uncomfortable to talk about letting yourself be hurt more by the people who hurt you, and it's very un-PC. The modern thing is taking care of yourself and not letting anyone walk on you. I think we need to think very seriously about why we write all that off. But anyway, I could go on and on about that sort of thing...

And that's not the only kind of love I feel strongly about. I also feel very strongly about the love between a man and a woman. You know, the kind where two people become best friends and stay that way till they die. And where they get to have all kinda of fun sharing each other's bodies;) <eep!*wink*>

When you get right down to it, I guess I'm just old fashioned. I believe that the best way to have love is to stick with the one you love and work things out. I believe strongly in marriage. Now if I could just turn my hormones off when the right one's not around!;p
