RECAP: Lucky and Liz each pondered about their relationship after the passionate kiss. Lucky was on his way to talk to Liz after a conversation with Nikolas about his fear.

Lucky couldn't find Liz anywhere in the house. Where could she have gone? He searched the entire house for the third time, and decided that Liz was definitely not in the house. He ran out the door and was ready to walk all over Port Charles until he found her. And he did. After checking every place he thought she might have gone. He found her on the beach.

He couldn't see her face, she was a good 100 feet from him, facing the ocean. He could see the foot prints she had left on the sand. He followed them. Liz was standing with her bare feet in the water, her shoes in one hand. The beach in late winter still seemed gray. Yet Liz added brilliance to the huge canvas that was in front of Lucky. He wondered how his heart could melt just watching her like that. Her brown hair was blown all over her face by the chilling wind. She didn't seem to care. She kneeled down on one knee and put her free hand in the water. She picked up some sand, let it slip through her fingers, and put her hand back in the water. Lucky was mesmerized by those simple movements of hers.

He walked closer to her, afraid to disturb the beautiful scene right in front of him. He stopped. Liz seemed to sense Lucky's gaze, she turned her head, and saw him. She smiled timidly, and turned back to play in the water. Lucky trod over, and squatted down tentatively by her.

Lucky: Hi.
Liz: Hi.

She turned her head to look at Lucky momentarily. He looked wonderful, as always. His profile was the most beautiful thing she'd ever seen in her life. A few locks of hair were getting in his eyes. She lifted her hand up and brushed them away from his face. It was all so natural to her. Lucky turned to look at her, and smiled adoringly.

Lucky: I looked everywhere for you.
Liz: Sorry.....I didn't think you would be back so soon.
Lucky: I wanted to see you.
Liz: Oh.

She went back to play with the sand and the water. Lucky stared at her hand for a moment, and covered it with his own.

Lucky: Elizabeth, I....we need to talk.
Liz: I know.
Lucky: Do you want to go back a few feet? Your clothes are getting wet.

Liz looked down at herself as if she had just realized she'd had her one knee in the water. She nodded. Lucky pulled her up with him gently, his hand held on to hers tightly. They walked a few feet back from the water, and sat down on the sand.
Liz: Did Nikolas find you?
Lucky: Yeah, he did. But that's not important right now.

Liz didn't say anything. Lucky looked at her again, afraid to say anything that would hurt her. He turned to look at the waves for a minute before he spoke.

Lucky: Elizabeth, I'm sorry for pushing you out of the room like that last night.
Liz: It's all right, Lucky.
Lucky: No, it's not. I'm sorry. And I'm sorry for leaving without telling you this morning.
Liz: Lucky, you needed some time, and so did I.
Lucky: Yes, we did. I didn't sleep at all last night, and I just wasn't sure if I was ready to talk to you this morning. I shouldn't have put us in that circumstance last night.
Liz: Lucky, you weren't the only one in the room. I was there too.
Lucky: But that's just it! I should have gotten you out of there before.................
Liz: Lucky, don't make this completely your responsibility. I wanted to be there. I went to your room, remember?
Lucky: Elizabeth, if you knew what I was thinking before you came in, you would never have stayed.

Liz chuckled at that statement.

Liz: Lucky, I have to be honest with you........ I probably had some of the exact same thoughts.
Lucky: Oh, I don't think so. I really really doubt it. I tried. Really, I tried to get the picture out of my mind, but it just wasn't possible! You were so beautiful.......

Lucky stopped at that, looking a little embarrassed. Liz glanced over to him, smiling shyly.

Liz: I was ....I was kind of worried that you might be disappointed......
Lucky: Disappointed? Elizabeth, you don't know what it did to me when I walked into that bathroom! I should have known not to kiss you after that.
Liz: Lucky, I wanted you to kiss me. It was the most wonderful sensation I have ever known! Why did you think I didn't want to let you go?
Lucky: But, Elizabeth, I wanted more than a kiss from you last night. Did you realize that? What if I couldn't stop myself? What if I hurt you?
Liz: Lucky.........I....for a second there, I wanted more than a kiss from you too.

Lucky jerked his head up upon hearing that. Liz hesitated for a moment, and looked right into Lucky's eyes.

Liz: I did. For a moment there, all I could think about was how good your kiss and touch felt to me. I wasn't thinking of anything else at all.
Lucky: And then?
Liz: And then you stopped. Lucky, don't you see it? You were the one that stopped it. You were the one that made me get out of your room before anything else happened. Even when every sigh I had given you had not been fear, or rejection.
Lucky: This time I pushed you out of the room. But what about next time? I don't know if I can trust myself.
Liz: Lucky, you would never ever do anything to hurt me.
Lucky: Not intentionally. No. But I'm only human.
Liz: So am I, Lucky. Last night proved it. I wasn't ready for it. I know that, but I didn't want to pull away form your kiss.
Lucky: Neither did I. Elizabeth, it felt so good to have you in my arms like that. But I knew we should wait. I knew we needed to wait.
Liz: That's my thoughts exactly. I'm so glad to hear you say that......I know you would never do anything that I'm not ready for. Remember how long you waited to kiss me?
Lucky: (smiling) Yeah, how could I forget? But you were worth the wait. Most definitely.
Liz: You would never push me to do anything I'm not comfortable with. I know that. What I'm really worrying about is......................

Liz stopped and lowered her eyelids. She was absent-mindedly toying with the ring Lucky had given her. Lucky waited for her to continue.

Liz: What if I make you wait for a long time? What would you do? You would never make me do anything I don't want to, but how long can you wait?
Lucky: Elizabeth, I don't want to sound corny....but for you, I'd wait forever. I would be willing to wait till the day I die if that's what it takes.
Liz: Lucky, from the way you made me feel last night, I doubt you would have to wait till the day you die.........but I just don't think I'm ready yet. Not because I'm afraid, but because I don't want to ruin anything by rushing it.
Lucky: You want to know something?
Liz: Yeah?
Lucky: I'm not ready either. And contrary to you, it is because I'm afraid.

Liz looked at Lucky surprisingly. He was momentarily flustered by her questioning eyes.

Lucky: Elizabeth, I love you. I want your first time, our first time, to be special. And don't argue, it will be your first time. And mine. I'm afraid because......what if I can't make that happen for you? I want everything to be perfect when I make love to you for the very first time. I just don't think I will forgive myself if I do anything wrong and.............

He glanced over to Liz and found that tears were running down her cheeks. He fumbled to find something to say, but failed. He pulled Liz into his arms, and held on to her.

Lucky: Elizabeth, baby, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said anything.........
Liz: Lucky, please. Don't say you are sorry. That's the most sensitive thing anyone has ever said to me. I just.....

Liz tilted her head up to see Lucky. Her smile warm, and gentle.

Liz: Lucky, you have nothing to be afraid of. It will be special for me because it will be with you, the person I love most in the world. But are you really going to be OK with waiting?
Lucky: Elizabeth, are you kidding? I just know it will be so worth it. We are both young, and you are right, we shouldn't rush into anything. I love you, Elizabeth, and that's all that matters to me. Sure, I can't wait till the day we can show each other our love in the other way. But I'm so thrilled just to have you here beside me, to see your smile, to hold you in my arms, to kiss you, to tell you about my day.........Do you have any idea how lucky I feel?
Liz: (smiling at that) To tell you the truth, I have been feeling pretty lucky myself. Pun fully intended.

Lucky and Liz both laughed at that. Lucky took Liz's hand in his, and laced his fingers through hers. He rubbed the ring on Liz's ring finger gingerly, and brought her hand to his lips, gently kissed the back of her hand then put her hand over his heart before he spoke.

Lucky: I'll always be here. I'll always love you. I know we are only 16 going on 17, but I want you to know that in my heart, there is never going to be anyone else. Not ever. And one day, when everything is right, I'm going to replace this ring with one that says you are the one for me for the rest of our lives. If that's still OK with you then.
Liz: Lucky, you have already shown that to me in so many ways. In my mind, I'm yours for the rest of our lives. And one day, like you said, when everything is right, we will be together in every sense of the word. Body, and heart, and soul.

Lucky held Liz closer, and kissed her softly. Liz's lips were moist, and sweet. Lucky closed his eyes and savored the taste. It was a kiss that was both long and slow, yet it sent ripples of pleasure through both of them. She wrapped her arms around Lucky's neck, and felt herself being lowered on to the sand. She pulled Lucky down closer to her, and felt his hesitance. She kissed him insistently, and felt him responding to it. Their bodies gradually melded together. Liz pulled away momentarily, gently traced Lucky's lips with her thumb. She kissed those full lips again. He felt her biting softly on his bottom lip, felt her tongue flicked lightly over his teeth, felt her hands digging into his shoulders, and felt the world spinning. Lucky pulled away, and looked into Liz's eyes. She was smiling dreamily.

Lucky: Sweetheart, you are not going to make this waiting part easy for me, are you?
Liz: You are not the only one thinking that, darling.
Lucky: Well, at least we'll have lots of fun waiting.
Liz: Hmmmm......In that case, I think the waiting part might just have lots of potential....
Lucky: It's heavenly, angel, it's heavenly.

Lucky leaned down and covered Liz's mouth with his own, the waves of passion that were rushing through both of them echoed to the sound of the ocean waves.

"Lucky one" music and lyrics by Amy Grant, Keith Thomas

You're the kind
When you love you love with all your mind
You're the kind
I would dream about at night
Now I'm the lucky one
Baby I'm the lucky one

You're the kind
That I want to be with in the dark
You're the kind who is capturing my heart
And I'm the lucky one
Baby I'm the lucky one

And I have never been the one to fall in love so soon
But I could never face another night and day without you
Baby I'm the lucky one

You're the kind
With poetry and valentines
You're the kind
Who will never ever leave
And I' the lucky one
The luckiest girl
Baby I'm the lucky one

And I have never been the one to fall in love so soon
But I could never face another night or day without you
I'm the lucky one
Baby I'm the lucky one.........
