What a wonderful, beautiful, and straight-forward woman. I've always enjoyed Whoopi Goldberg's work, but for some reason, she really caught my eye in 'Boys on the Side' (maybe that's cause I was just coming out... HA! *ahem*)... anyway ... um...where was I? I've lost my train of thought ... nonetheless, Whoopi Goldberg has got my attention.

Even before she was Captain Kathryn Janeway, Kate Mulgrew caught my attention on a well-done, but short lived, critically acclaimed ABC series called 'HeartBeat' that aired in 1988-1989. She played a very strong, very real character named Joanna Halloran. There was even a lesbian character on the show...and I have a feeling that was just one of the reasons it didn't last as long as it could have. I have met this woman in person and this picture...as wonderful as it is, does not not do this woman's beauty justice.
