DM5 Part II

SUDDENLY, Tabby felt a slash in her back.  The phone was a trap!  She broke free of the killer (the Scream one) and ran to the other door in the room and flung it open.  There was a flight of stairs, one leading up, and one leading down.  She went up.
Not bothering to look behind her, she sprinted up, trying to distance herself from the killer, who she didn't even know whether he was still behind her or not.  Her cut on her back hurt like crazy!  She kept going until her legs felt like they were going to fall off.  Finally, she reached a door.  She opened it, and she was back at the level where she was earlier, near the bathroom.  While no one was in the hallway she was in, she could hear the slot machines and the voices of people beyond it.
"Thank God," she said under her breath.
ALL OF A SUDDEN, one of the doors ahead of her opened, and it was the fisherman, his hook ready.  He immediately spotted Tabby and advanced on her.
"HELP!" she cried, but no one could hear her above all the noise.  She backed into the stairway, but she tripped on her own untied shoelaces and she fell down about a dozen steps before stopping.  Her head HURT, and her knife wound was bleeding even harder now.  Looking up, she couldn't see the fisherman.  Did he really just leave her there?  Maybe he wasn't even really trying to kill her.  Just because someone looked like the psycho from I Know What You Did Last Summer doesn't mean they were a killer, or did it?
Her back aching, she slowly got back to her feet and went back up.  No one in the hallway.  This time, she ran though, determined to make it to the main area.  Of course, her shoe laces got in her way again, and she fell once more.
"Dammit!  I have to remember to tie these stupid things!"  Looking down, she realized that her laces were caught on a bare thread of a rug.  Trying to get it undone, she only made things worse- getting her shoes tied together AND caught on the rug.
Just in time, too, because the ghostface killer opened one of the doors and spotted his victim.
   "Oh, shit- HELP!  SOMEBODY HELP!"
No use.  Everybody was probably laughing too hard or getting too drunk to hear her.
She jerked herself forward, trying in vain to get herself free of the rug or her shoes.
The killer looked like he was amused at the situation, because he was only walking toward her.
Tabby had to do SOMETHING, so she reached into her pocket and flung some of her change at the killer, even though it didn't do much to stall him.
   "SOMEBODY-HELP!!!"
One of her feet popped out of her shoe, and then the other.  She was free.
She ran as fast as she possibly could to the main area.  She stopped right in front of a sport-utility vehicle that was on display as a prize.
"PEOPLE!  HELP!!" she screamed, even though she knew the killer was probably gone by now.
Among the stunned faces she saw Nik, who was gulping down champagne like no tomorrow.  Tabby thought she had gone home, but oh well.
SUDDENLY, the car rolled forward, fell off its platform, and crashed on Tabby.
"OH MY GOD!" Nik screamed, just realizing what happened.
Some waitress opened the door to the car.  "Someone turned off the parking brake!"
It took half a dozen people to lift the car back up and onto its podium.
Tabby's body didn't look as bad as you would expect from someone who was just crushed by an SUV, but it was clear that she was on the brink of death.
Nik knelt beside her.  "Tabby!  Tabby, I'm so sorry!!"
Inbetween huge gasps for breath, Tabby replied, "The..... <gasp>.. killer.... fisher......man....."
Tabby's body went limp.  She was dead.
   Nik screamed, "NOOOOOOOO!!!"

It was the next day, and Meagen walked into Douglas High School.  In the past year or so, it had been a place of education, fun, and most of all, terror.
There was a huge press conference being held in the gym, and news reporters, students, and faculty poured inside.
"Wonder what this is about?" she asked herself.  This school system had been host to plenty of strange happenings over the years, and she didn't know what would happen next.
As she walked inside she looked around in the mess of people to see if there was anybody she knew.  At first, nobody, but then walked in Gary, one of her closest friends.  She still didn't know what kept her from asking him out, because he was pretty damn fine.  He was smart, funny, nice, athletic, and just so damn perfect she expected him to part the Red Sea and turn water into wine any day now.  Sometimes he would grow kind of an afro with a comb sticking out of it.
Along with Gary walked Tracy, who was flirting with him.
"That's so funny, Gare-Bear!" Tracy laughed at something Gary had said.

Gare-Bear's my nickname for him!! Meagen thought.  Tracy obviously lked Gary, too, and Meagen would be pissed if she made any moves on him.  Luckily, Tracy already had a boyfriend, so the chances of that happening were slim.
They spotted and immediately greeted her.  "Hey, Meagen," they both said.
"Hey, guys," she said back.  "Do you guys know what's been going on?"
"No," Gary answered.  "But it looks like we're going to find out pretty soon."
Meagen then saw Ricky, Chris, and Sunny sit down nest to them.
"Hey, what's goin on?" Sunny said.
"I'm OK, but, Sunny, weren't you supposed to have moved?" Meagen asked.
Before Sunny could answer, Chris blurted, "She was, but she couldn't pass the chance to give me a blow."
"Shut up, you pervert!" Sunny replied.  She turned back again to Meagen.  "Well, you see..."
Before she could finish, Scott and Nik walked in, and Nik looked like she'd been through hell.
"What happened, Nik?" Meagen asked.  "You look like crap."
Nik was on the verge of crying.  "It's all because of me.  Tabby's dead because I left her alone in that stupid casino!"
Meagen felt her heart skip a beat.  "D-dead?"
"She got stabbed by someone- and... and then some tire of this big car fell and crushd her!" Nik answered inbetween sobs.
This was definitely not news Meagen wanted to hear.
Dr. Schlong walked up behind a podium as cameras flashed.  A ton of reporters were there, including none other than the famous and notorious Constance Spano.
"Ladies and gentlemen of the press and public, we of the Douglas School District have called together this conference to address a number of topics that have recently concerned our system of schools," the superintendent (Dr. Schlong) began.
"The first of these topics concerns the very unfortunate death of Douglas High student Nik Von Eye, who died in our fabulous new 'Patriot's Palace of Gold'.  She will be sorely missed by friends, family, and faculty."
There was a sudden uproar from the crowd of journalists.  Meagen thought she heard Constance Spano ask, "What of the reports of her being stabbed?"
"People, please, we'll have plenty of time for questions later," Dr. Schlong reassured the reporters.  "It's been nearly two years to the month that former Douglas student Sabrina Golden was fatally taken away from us.  As you probably already know, she was the victim of not one, not two, but THREE attacks by sinister stalkers.  We've decided to honor her memory by officially labeling tomorrow 'Sabrina Day'.  Schools all over the country will be closed to pay respect to Sabrina Golden, everybody's favorite little victim."
There was applause from the crowd upon hearing about this, even though at least some of it was coming from students who didn't have to go to school the next day.
"Now," the superintendent continued, "We come to some more dark news.  Three Douglas students- whose names are Robert Crandal, Keith Hersey, and Jennifer... Jennifer something, went into the Black Hills, hoping to film a documentary about local legend Dan Hattum, have mysteriously dissapeared and are presumed dead.  Only their footage was found... and we're going to show it to you, right now!"
