HEATHER NOVA
HISTORY
Born in Bermuda on July 6, 1968, Heather Frith (who later adapted Nova as a stage name) spent a good portion of her childhood sailing around the Caribbean with her parents on a 40 footer where her parents home school her.
However at the age of 15 she resumed normal schooling in the USA and turned to music when she found it hard to communicate with others however she went on to study painting and film at the Rhode Island School of Design.
After trying to entice New York record companies into signing her she moved to London where she got the chance to perform for the British Academy of Songwriters she then went on to record her first EP. However the EP was poorly distributed and consequently didn't bring much success. Everything changed however in 1993 when Heather met ex- Killing Joke guitarist Youth who used his influences to allow Heather to record her first album, which was released on Youth's label "Butterfly". It was around this time that she adapted the name Heather Nova.
In 1995 Heather got the attention she deserved due to the song "Walk This World" which was off her second studio album "Oyster". She has released two more studio albums since then which have helped establish her as a stable artist.
