VERUCA SALT

HISTORY

Formed in 1993 by Nina Gordon and Louise Post, the original line up also included: Steve Lack and Nina's brother Jim Shapiro.  Named after the bratty kid in the Willy Wonka movie the band didn't take long to attract the attention of record labels.  It was under an indie label "Minty Fresh" that their first album "American Thighs" was made and released in 1994.  Late 1994 they left "Minty Fresh" in favour of DGC Records who also managed Hole.  The band went on to record an EP "Blow It Out Your Ass It's Veruca Salt" and another album "Eight Arms To Hold", however by  that stage Jim had left the band and was replaced by Stacy Jones.

In February 1998 Nina Gordon left to pursue a solo career and Stacy and Steve also departed.  Louise continued under the name Veruca Salt and with new band mates Stephen Fitzpatrick, Jimmy Madla and Suzanne Sokol went on to record "Resolver".
