THE STAND





In Boulder, Mother Abigail greets all of the newcomers. When she meets Nadine, she senses that something is wrong but can't put her finger on it. Unfortunately, she is so caught up in the greetings that she forgets about it.



Nadine has become afraid of her destiny, and tries to get Larry to come back to her. Larry says no because he and Lucy are together.



This refusal leads Nadine to do Flagg's bidding and form a relationship with Harold.



At Mother Abigail's instigation, a committee is formed as a sort of interim government. It consists of Stu Redman, Fran Goldsmith, Nick Andros, Larry Underwood, and a few others.



This so infuriates Harold that he decides to put an end to the committee.
