Randy Taylor is the middle son of Tim and Jill. He enjoys writing for the school paper and was upset when Brad joined the staff and his sports article got more attention then his serious one. Randy grew close to another writer on the staff, Lauren, and they are now dating.
Besides Lauren, Randy has had two other girls who made several appearences as a girlfriend. The first of these was Beth. They were introduced by Brad's girlfriend at the time, Ashley. His next girlfriend was Michelle. Their parents were friends, but Jill butt into their marriage and nearly destroyed it. His current and most serious girlfriend is Lauren. They met on the newspaper staff and spent a year as friends and then began dating. This is their second year together. Both are currently in Costa Rica studying the rain forest. Randy's departure was very hard on Tim and Jill. But they eventually came around. Randy left at the end of September and came home for a surprise Christmas visit. He was shocked by how much everything had changed since he left. Especailly having the twins and Marty there, and Brad and Mark's new relationship with each other.
Randy is the big jokester of the family and often used his humor on Brad and Mark.
