ABC had originally planned for the movie to come out before the first Batman TV Show hit the air to get the audience
aquatinted with the characters in "Batman." Time ran short, and the movie had to be pushed back until the end of the first
season. The 1966 Batman movie revolved around the same ideas as the show. Comedy mixed in with suspense, what more
could one ask for? In the movie, the Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman, and Joker team up together in a plot to take over the entire
world using a device known as "The Total Dehydration Machine."

The Plot
Commodore Shmidlapp, a sea captain, is transporting a valuable device known as a "Total Dehydration Machine" by ship. The
machine has the ability to extract water out of any person it's used on (temporarily, of course). Batman and Robin are given an
anonymous tip that the Commodore might be in danger. They take the Batmobile to the airport, where the Batcopter awaits.
They fly the Batcopter to the vessel, and Batman climbs down the Batladder (to get on deck as Robin lowers the copter into
position. Before he knew it, he was waist-deep in water, finding out the ship was an illusion. As Robin pulls the Batcopter
back up, he sees Batman has a giant shark grasping onto his leg! Batman yells to his assistant for the Shark Repellent
Bat-Spray over his Batradio, so Robin sets the copter on autopilot and brings it down the ladder to Batman. As the shark is
sprayed with the repellent, it drops off his leg, back into the ocean, exploding on impact. They can't believe what just
occurred, so they go back to the Batcave to analyze a photo they had taken while flying over the "fake vessel."
