* 12. "Fleas Navidad"Wednesday, December 18, 1996 ABC/CTV 9:30pmIt's Christmas time at Buy the Book and everyone's in the festive spirit! Ellen and Paige plan to have "La Grande Aventura del Mexico!" Joe and Audrey will run the store while the two are away and Spence has to be in ER. Ellen finds a cute stray dog, names it Vance and decides she wants to keep it. But when no one can take care of Vance while she's away, Ellen decides to stay, sending Joe in her place. Ellen's dad visits her and thinks Vance is Ellen's Christmas gift to him, so she sadly lets her dad keep him. All's well that ends well when Ellen, Spence and Audrey arrive in Mexico to join Joe and Paige. Naturally, this last scene is dubbed in Spanish! The decision to take pottery lessons yields what was going to be "a bowl, then a vase, then a bowl, vase...." Meanwhile, Paige's kitchen goes up in flames when Spence and Joe house-sit while she's in Canada Opening: Canada's very own Jann Arden sings the theme song, while Ellen accompanies her on the drums
* 14. "Joe's Kept Secret"Wednesday, January 15, 1997 ABC/CTV 9:30pmEllen decides to add a nook to her house, but has to wait nine months for a construction permit. Joe helps Ellen by asking his friend Madeline to get the permit, since she's good friends with city officials. Joe reveals that he's been seeing Madeline for over four months and invites the gang over to his apartment. Seeing the lavish "gifts" given to Joe by Madeline, Ellen thinks that he's a kept man. Joe decides to break up with Madeline, who responds by taking away Ellen's permit. Ellen asks Madeline to give the permit back, and is asked to go out to see a ballet. Soon it's Ellen who becomes the "kept woman"... Guest Star: Florence Henderson as Madeline Opening: Ellen duets with Aaron Neville on the theme song

He tries to tell Ellen about the adventures that led him to be in his current state, but is constantly interrupted by Ellen's recollections of events in her life... Clips from the first three seasons are spotlighted, including ones from "The Dentist", "Pilot", "Salad Days" and "When The Vow Breaks". Opening: The Boogie Knights take us to Funkytown with their disco-funk rendition of the theme song. Meanwhile, the cast shake shake shakes their booties in full 70's gear
22. "The Puppy Episode"Wednesday, April 30, 1997 ABC/CTV 9:00pmWith the help of her therapist, Ellen comes to terms with her own sexuality after meeting a gay woman through a mutual friend Opening: There was a planned opening with Melissa Etheridge, but this didn't happen. 23. "Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah"Wednesday, May 7, 1997 ABC 9:30pmWednesday, May 14, 1997 CTV 8:30pm Ellen decides to tell her parents about her sexuality, and plans everything to the last detail. But the best laid plans often go awry, and knowing Ellen's track record, this happens on a regular basis! While dining at their favourite Chinese restaurant, Ellen's parents don't react well to the news that their daughter is gay. Ellen manages to get her mom to attend a support group meeting, where she expresses how she feels about the revelation. After Ellen is verbally attacked by an outraged parent, Ellen's parents eloquently back their daughter 24. "Moving On" [Season Finale]Wednesday, May 14, 1997 ABC/CTV 9:30pmAudrey creates a new "Sisterhood" corner at Buy The Book, in celebration of Ellen's coming out. Ed arrives and asks Ellen to babysit his daughters, to which she agrees. Ed is unhappy when he sees the Sisterhood corner. He feels Buy The Book is a "family store", and that the new section will attract the wrong sort of people. Ellen presses Ed further to find out his opinion on lesbians and gays, eventually implying that she is a lesbian. While shopping with Ellen, Paige feels uncomfortable changing clothes in front of her best friend. The next day, Ed's daughter brings Ellen to her class Show and Tell, and inadvertently outs Ellen to her class. Ed later tells Ellen he doesn't need her to babysit anymore, as his daughter is sick. While Ellen and Paige attend a film, they see Ed there too. At the store, Ellen confronts Ed about his lies and is dismayed when he says he doesn't want her around his children. Ellen leaves, saying she can't work with Ed anymore. At her new home, Ellen and Paige reconcile. To prove she's comfortable around her friend, Paige insists on changing clothes in front of Ellen. Just as she does so, the gang arrive to celebrate Ellen's moving in. Ellen lets Spence move into her house, as he is unable to afford living on his own. The Gang celebrates... Opening:The Bee Gees sing the theme song with Ellen June 4, 1997 - Repeat of "Bowl Baby Bowl" June 11, 1997 - Repeat of "Joe's Kept Secret" June 18, 1997 - Repeat of "Makin' Whoopee"
