The past three issues go like this: Gina and Britanny got a curse thrown upon them while raiding (err...excavating) a tomb. To get rid of it, they created a biological entity where it was put. The side-effect of the procces created a being who was half Gina and half Britanny, self-named "Grave Digger". Now, under the influence of the curse, she wants to kill the sisters.
Gina had just escaped Grave Diggers' last attack and bought some time for herself. Unfortunately, she allowed Grave Digger into the armory. Grave Digger stocked up while Gina got Brit to the infirmary. It turns out that her shock-rod caused instant paralysis to Brit, but it would wear off in an hour. Still, that meant that Gina had to face the enemy alone until then, and survive.
First, Gina teleports in her own robots of war to stop the hybrid. (They are ED-209s and Terminators. ^_^) The hybrid uses her/Gina's knowledge of their flaws against them in a funny scene. Then, surprisingly, Gina shows up and tries to talk sense into Grave Digger. She gets through and even names her; Brianna. The name, like herself, is half Britanny and half Gina. Gina promises that her dad can remove the curse. Sadly, Brianna is influenced into attacking Gina.
Gina narrowly survives and an interesting fight occurs. (I love the bowling ball!!!) Eventually, Gina gets the upper hand and Theo Diggers arrives to take off the curse. Brianna apologizes, but Gina meant every word about her being their third sister and they begin to talk of accommodations. Dr. Diggers goes to visit Britanny in the infirmary.
Brit isn't there, and he notices that she's been teleported away to some unknown location. We learn that she's at the tower of Tanya, priestess of El Dorado. She's got Britanny subdued on her table, and wants revenge for the stealing of her betrothed, Stripe (Brit's boyfriend.) Luckily for Brit, a call comes in from Stripe and Tanya has to do some quick reorganizing to make it look like everything's normal, which really screws up her plans. But Tanya is intent on bringing in Jetta the werewolf for the werecheetah's demise...
First off, the typeset in here is toned down and emphasis on certain words is finally payed attention to. It makes for an easier read than the first three issues.
All hail Fred Perry, Grandmaster of Strategy!! Gina vs. Brianna. His knowledge of real science and psuedo-science makes the fight quite even, and a tad realistic.
The artwork is A-1 phenomenal here, and the story wraps up quite well, with a prelude easing in quite nicely at the end.
I really don't have a lot to say about this issue, except that it's truly imaginative, and A MUST HAVE if you love Brianna and/or strategy.
(out of four.)
ED-209 - a robot gone bad in the movie "Robocop"
Gina's Hurtbots - they resemble robots from the "Terminator" movies
Soloflex - a home-gym exercise equipment unit, very cheap, sold mostly on infomercials
"67-3-14" - don't these numbers seem like a date of sorts???
