"Dogs and cats, living together! Mass hysteria!!"

Cover to issue 6

Penny and Ace are about to leave the runway on their way to Atlantis to collect the reward for saving Atlantis. Penny, true to form, alerted Gina to her share but only ten minutes ago. And as they're taking off, Gina arrives. She does an amazing computation and slips aboard, without either of their knowledge.

Down in the basement of Princess Tanya's tower, Theo Diggers has taken control of the mayhem that erupted moments ago (last issue). A brief power struggle occurs between him and the werewolves, Jetta and Thabian, but the two males settle it. And while Jetta and Britanny still want to go at it, Thabian and Theo reason that the tower's owner must have the werewolves' child, Pojo. A truce is made, and the group begin to travel throughout the deadly tower to rescue the young werewolf.

The story flips back and forth between the rescue party and the reward party. While Tanya sends minions after minions of stone golems after the rescue party, Ace relates to Penny how he met the Diggers sisters. They stowed away on their very first expedition, and cut Ace into a piece of the action. Gina, in the back, overhears them. She decides to occupy herself by tampering with Penny's mini-sub, just for payback of trying to steal all her reward money.

You scratch my back...

Everyone in the rescue party seems to have their hands full with stone golems attacking them, and yet Britanny and Jetta still trade insults, shots and blows. Both get increasingly hostile, but the guys keep them at bay, along with the endless golems.

Due to all the destruction of battle, the ceiling falls down on them. They manage to escape except for Jetta, and Britanny is charged with saving her. She does so against her own morals, and Jetta is none too pleased either.

Back in the air, Ace is attacked by his old friends, Death Bird and her squadron. Vengence is theirs as Ace tries to avoid them... unsuccessfully.

Eventually, the rescue crew get to the top of the tower. Tanya talks to the child, Pojo, about how she intends to use him to get to Stripe, all while taking him out of his cage. Stripe hears all of this from outside the tower's window and waits...

The group spring Tanya's last trap and take her on, except that she's anchored wards protection on Pojo, whom she's carrying. If she gets hurt, the baby dies. Tanya also sics her last, huge, golem against them. They are powerless against it, and her, until Stripe steals back the baby. Then they stop her.

Jetta concedes that Britanny and herself shouldn't be enemies, and they become allies. Then Theo erases the location of Eden on Stripe's light-gate generator (that was given to him by Gina, that was stolen by Tanya, etc...), and promises to erase the location on the other generator as well.

When all is settled, we find the werewolves at home in peace with their child, along with the shrunken, powerless priestess in a familiar cage, hanging from a cave somewhere in the ever-hidden Eden. ^_^

ProseWolf Says:

It was a good story that bonded two enemies and created one other. Tanya, (my second favorite villain to Peachbody,) is relentless towards anything that would threaten her love for Stripe. She actually tries (and almost succeeds with) murder, and she doesn't even flinch. If her powers hadn't been stripped from her at the end of this issue, she'd be possibly the largest threat to the Diggers that this comic would've seen. But no, unfortunately.

The artwork stays on par with the previous issue, and the story is alright, but overall it just doesn't keep pace with the last issue. It's nothing against the comic or Mr. Perry, it's just that the last issue was a masterpiece. This issue shouldn't be compared to that one, although it must.

A fine issue indeed, with Mr. Perry's own lettering taking over from that computerized crap that dominated the last five issues. Tons of fun ahead.

(p.s. Don't ask me how Ace escapes this one, I don't own that issue... yet. ^_^)
