"TIME WARP - PART II"

The Story So Far...

Cover to 'Time Warp 2'

While investigating a threatening time warp in the Chronoverse, Mita Celande and her assistant May are duped by the evil Dr. Peachbody and his assistant Benji into attacking the Digger's laboratory. With a lot of crossing and double-crossing, chaos reigns supreme in the complex as well as the Chronoverse. And now...

Let's...Do...the Time...Warp...Agaaaain

Out in Mexico-Station, Professor Azland's abode, Akaru and Ichi are briefed as to the situation with the ever escalating time warp crisis. (A brief pseudo-science lesson is given in Fred Perry's Mind - 101). So, they all decide to go find the origin; Egypt circa 200,000 BC.

Meanwhile, May outwits the two furry Diggers into the loss of their vehicle/time machine/cruise-mobile. Brit and Bri are soon stuck out in the Chronoverse with no help on the way.

In the lab, Gina's defending hurt-bots are getting their hard drives booted and rebooted by Peachbody's biosynth-warriors. The biocreations adapt to attacks, then deal out. Help arrives (again) with May, Asrial and Arnie. Recharged and ready to rock, they go at it again. Success.

Prof. Azland, Akaru and Ichi find two surprises in pre-Ice Age Egypt. First, the Sphynx. Secondly, Peachbody in control of the Sphynx. Benji proceeds to kick Akaru and Ichi's collected backsides. Peachbody, ticked off, then sends all of the good guys to various points in time...

Asrial, Ryan and Arnie - before the Age of Man

Genn, May and Ichi - the era of the Dragon Pharaoh

Prof. Azland and Akaru - gothic 1700s with Count Bosco's family

Gina and Mita - Edo, Japan.

Finally, as if it just couldn't get any worse, Britanny and Brianna are sucked by a time bubble into an unknown era with two spaceship going toe-to-toe.

Jinkies.

ProseWolf Says:

I'm thoroughly impressed as to the amount of cult knowledge Mr. Perry is aware of. Almost any science-fiction movie, Japanese monster-epic, or Saturday morning cartoon he seems to have seen. So I ask him publicly:

"Have you seen Nemesis? Roger Ramjet? Cerebus? Gamera? Clerks? Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead? The old Wizard of Oz cartoon (with Rusty, Socrates, and Dandy)?"

Anyway.

The cover, having no dealings with the storyline, looks shoddy. (Sorry. I calls 'em like I sees 'em.)

HOWEVER... The interior artwork is primo! It is here that we begin to get the first glimpses into what I think is the greatest dynamic comic book artwork since Larry Stroman did X-Factor. Wow!

It mostly comes from the scenes where darkness is hidden. What I mean is, think of how Tanya {sigh} looks. A lot of India ink, and the whole page shines (in a manner of speaking.)

That is this issue.
