Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete

The following contains spoilers about what happens in the game and what happens to certain characters. If you haven't finished the game and don't wanna know, then leave now! Bwahahahahahaha! *ahem*


Alex & Co. Learn the #1 Rule of Adventuring : DTA

Well, y'see, soon after meeting Ghaleon, Alex & Co take him to see Quark, the legendary white dragon. However, upon reaching Quark, Ghaleon captures him and reveals himself to be the evil Magic Emperor that's been plotting to destroy the world of Lunar! (I was sooo shocked when this happened.) He kidnaps Luna so Alex and his friends have the added task of rescuing her.

Along the way, they discover that Phacia and Royce, the supposed 'friends' of the group, are actually in cahoots with Ghaleon! On top of that, they discover that the 'leader' of the Magic Guild, Lemia, is actually Xenobia (the evil chick with the hots for Ghaleon). The real Lemia Ausa was imprisoned in the Guild's dungeon all along, under a spell that sealed her powers and screwed up her mind. Poor Mia. Now she knows why her 'mom' has been such a bitch for the last month. Xenobia and Ghaleon were preparing to take over Vane and set their plan in motion.

Along the way, our heroes had to defend Vane and the Althena's Shrine from the huge Grindery built to destroy Vane and any possible threats. They didn't succeed (but they survived), and Ghaleon shows up with Luna (who was evil) to uncover the fortress of Althena that was hidden under the shrine. He uses the fortress to suck up the life energy of Lunar, destroying the planet slowly.


Don't Judge a Goddess By Her Garb

We then find out the reason Ghaleon kidnapped Luna. Luna was actually the Goddess Althena herself. 'How does that work?',you ask? Well, 15 years ago, Althena decided to give up her power and live as a human. She wanted to do this because she believed in the power of humanity and love and knew that humans could flourish without a goddess.

However, something had threatened the goddess during her transformation and Dragonmaster Dyne intervened to protect her. Doing so cost him his powers and Dragonmaster status, but the goddess had done what she'd wanted. She was reborn and adopted by Alex's parents (who didn't know who she was). They named the baby 'Luna'. Luna grew up with no memories of her past life and was a best friend to Alex.

Ghaleon had tried to stop Dyne and Althena, believing that Lunar couldn't survive without the Goddess. On that day, both Dyne and Althena 'died'. Ghaleon's failure, combined with his jealousy, had consumed him until he decided to turn evil and take over Lunar. He kidnapped Luna and awakened her past self and the power hidden inside of her so he could use it to destroy Lunar,turning her evil in the process. Comprende?


A Turncoat Turns Good Again

We also learn that Dyne is actually Laike and that Nall is actually a white dragon that can morph into a huge dragon. And here's the doozy...Nash, a member of Alex's party admits to being a spy that reported to Ghaleon all along! He believed in Ghaleon at first but, realizing the error of his ways, turned against him to fight alongside his friends. After many hard battles, Alex and Co reach the Magic Emperor and engage in battle.

Of course, the good guys win and Ghaleon dies, convinced that Althena will destroy Lunar anyway. Alex tries to get through to Althena, because he knows that Luna was still alive somewhere in her body. Using the power of love and his ocarina, he succeeds in saving Luna. However, the only way to save Lunar is to return the life energy and destroy the fortress.

Releasing so much energy at once would kill Luna, but Alex helps her to do it, losing his power and Dragonmaster status in the process. They both survive and live happily ever after as normal folks. In the end, Jessica and Kyle get engaged and Mia and Kyle admit their love for each other. Ghaleon and Althena are truly dead and the world of Lunar and humanity flourished like Althena knew it would.
