Title: Firedance Artist: Richard Wood
This wild fiddler from Prince Edward Island goes all out on his fourth release "Firedance". All of the tracks on this CD can be danced to with the exception of track eight which is slow and very beautiful. Trust me on this one, if Richard Wood does not give you "Fiddle fever" ( track 9) then get up, start dancing, and you will catch it before you can say "Firedance" ! |

Title:Barrage Artist: Barrage Following up thier first release, Barrage continues on a wild ride as they fuse their celtic sound with other types of music including dance and jazz. On this CD the pieces which are good for stepdancing include "What's goin' on","Allen's bar" and "Row". On a side note Lynae's sweet voice graces a song which is beautifully sing called "Until we meet again". Though not as packed with stepdancing music as their first release this CD still contains alot of the high energy sound so characteristic of this band! |

They came together in a seaside pub from such places as Cornwall, Cork City, London, New York and Zambia. They show off their ocean music on this CD with everything from tunes for dancing and carousing the night away to shanties and love songs. They even include a French-Canadian tune on track eight called "Julia Delaney". Title: In my hands Artist: Natalie MacMaster Natalie MacMaster has taken fiddling to new heights! On her latest release titled "In my hands"we are taken for a ride by this firey Atlantic-Canadian fiddler whose music has litterally "No Boundaries" . Natalie even sings on this album, expressing to us how she feels about the music and instrument she plays. Natalie's trademark fast fiddling comes through on tracks 2,6,7,8, 11 and 13. With the exception of track 6 all of these pieces are great for stepdancing. Natalie's two current singles off of "In my hands" are the title track "In my hands" and the hauntingly beautiful "Get me through December" featuring Alison Krauss. As it can be said with all of her previous recordings, NATALIE HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!! |
