Many of you may recognize Kellie Martin from the recent
television series, Crisis Center, and before that,
Christy. She has also appeared in several
TV movies during the past several years, including "If Someone
Had Known," "The Face on the Milk Carton" and more recently,
"Her Last Chance." However, this page is dedicated to Kellie as
a teenager in the series "Life Goes On" which aired for 4 years
from 1989 to 1993 on ABC.

One obvious difference that made this show stand out from the
others was the teenage actor with Down's Syndrome, Chris Burke,
who played Becca's older brother, Charles (Corky) Thatcher. The
character, Corky, likewise had Down's Syndrome.

The second distinguishing characteristic and redeeming quality
for "Life Goes On" was Kellie Martin. She was one of the cutest
teenage actresses to have graced the small screen. Her
character, Becca, was witty and intelligent, sensative and
passionate. Yet, it was evident that this was not all an act.
Kellie herself held these characteristics which she brought to
her part with enthusiasm and vivacity. In turn, this drew the
viewer into the situation and made Becca "real" and believable.

Kellie was born on October 16, 1975 in Riverside, California.
She loves ballet and photography, and she is accomplished at
both. Her acting career was launched in the series "Father
Murphy" when she was seven.
She has an extensive filmography and has made guest appearances in such shows as "My Two Dads," "Thirtysomething," "America's funniest Home Videos" as a host, "Baywatch" and "SeaQuest DSV." She even appeared in a Burger King commercial in 1985.
|
Kellie one day wants to be a writer and perhaps a director. She
sees herself living in Paris and becoming a writer there. She
also has aspirations of owning her own gallery one day.
Currently, Kellie is attending Yale University (History of Art major) and acting at the same time. She has a 3.9 grade average. "I intend to get a degree. I'm even toying with the idea of going on to graduate school in art history. I'd love to have a job at the Met [New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art]."
