Jodie Leeanne Sweetin was born on January 19, 1982 in Los
Angeles, California, and remains the only child of her parents,
Sam and Janice. She attends a regular school and is a very good
student. She loves to read, is a very good dancer, and enjoys
swimming and riding her bike. And, as is typical of many girls
her age, she loves clothes, shopping and talking on the phone.
Jodie has a variety of career goals which include becoming a doctor, a teacher, an astronaut and an actress. She has already more than realized the last of these with her role as Stephanie Tanner, the middle daughter, on "Full House" which aired for 8 years beginning in 1987 on ABC.

Jodie stated in one interview that she and Stephanie were
similar in many ways. She said that if there was a line in the
script that didn't seem to fit her Character, Stephanie, she
could point it out to the director and he would change it. She
was even permitted to keep a dress that she wore one time on the
show because she liked it so much. And, on other occasions, she
even wore her own clothes on the show.

But, there is another similarity between Jodie and Stephanie;
one which for her devoted fans is a disappointment. Just as
Stephanie was the middle child, and just as in some cases, the
middle child gets overlooked in the attention department (there
was even an episode of Full house that dealt with this
phenomenon), so has it been for Jodie's career. Candace
Cameron, who played Stephanie's older sister, DJ, has gone on to
star in several movies. Likewise, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson,
who jointly played the role of Michelle, the younger sister,
have made several movies, music CDs and they're currently starring
in a new sitcom on ABC. Yet, we have not seen Jodie
since Full House was cancelled in 1995. for some reason,
she has not received the attention that her "older" and "younger"
sisters have...and, it's a shame. Stephanie was the funniest
character and Jodie the cutest actress. It's hopeful that we
will see her again in the very near future, perhaps even in a
starring role.

Actually, Jodie has been seen since Full House was canceled. She
attended the real-life wedding of her character's older sister, DJ
(Candace Cameron). Candace was married during the summer of 1996 and
most of the Full House cast attended.
