"The reason I gave this episode an 8 was only because of Gillian's performance. It truely saved the episode. I, personally, think it was way too much like 'Revelations' mixed in with Emily. We've done all that stuff before. I'm getting *really* sick of Mulder not believing, and Scully being Miss-Religious-Believer. I don't mean that in a sacriligious kind of way or anything... I'm just sick of church episodes. Get back to the monsters!! (The devil doesn't count as a monster anymore.) Who thinks flukeman needs an encore performance? And I hate to mention this, but.... Do you guys think XF is running out of ideas? They're using stories that they've already done a lot.... Back to the review... I loved the music all the way through this episode. Very church like, with all those choir voices, but it alternated between saintly and satanic, don't you think? Anyway, good on ya, Mark. You're very much apreciated here. I thought it sounded strange hearing Scully refer to Emily as her daughter. I still haven't gotten used to the fact that SCULLY HAD A DAUGHTER. Weird. But I did like the yellow outfit Scully wore to the Easter service. She looked very nice. One thing, though--does she *always* wear a trenchcoat? The sun was shining, it wasn't like it was raining or anything.... Does CC think we won't recognise her if her takes her out af a suit and trenchcoat? Scully, when Mulder returned her call, didn't turn on the phone. There was no click or beep when she picked it up, it was just immediatly on and she said, "Hello?" LoL!! Yeah, right, Mulder. Tailing a suspect? A suspect for what? Indecent exposure? LoL "A Decade Of Dirty Delinquents". I'm with whoever said that--I think it's hilarious when they make references to Mulder's love of porn. (Not that it makes him seem nicer... Kind of the opposite. But it's funny anyway.) Mulder's face was so cute when he reminded that, "it's your case... You have any suspects?" He was teasing her... And then that, "You've got a bona fide super crazy religious wacko on your hands." It's strange, because science, if stretched far enough, can explain how life could possibly exist on other planets, etc., but no matter how far science goes, it can never come close to explaining God. Mulder doesn't like science much, and believes in aliens, but not God. Scully is a hardcore scientist, and yet she dismisses alien evidence that is handed to her and goes after "super crazy religious wackos" and the like, believing them. I'm sorry if I've stepped on anyone's toes here, but... I needed to say that. The church of Saint Peter the Sinner, with Father Gregory, was funny. Do you think the sign out front had any bearing larger than the episode? "The Darkness Is Upon Us"? Or am I looking for things that aren't there again? OK... But did you notice, when Mulder was reading the book that was in the church, he mentioned that one of the things included in the book was "Apocrypha"? What was that episode about, guys? Can anyone tell me?? But then he goes, "I'm surprised there's nothing here from Jesus Christ Superstar..." Father Greg. was an interesting looking guy, don't you think? He was kind of cute in a Byers kind of way, I guess. No, I guess not. He was kind of weasely looking... But I liked his eyes. Scully's hair has been looking really good lately. She has been pushing it behind her ears sometimes, too, which is kind of cool. Like when she walked into Mulder's office at the beginning of 'Bad Blood.' Kind of sprayed-brushed back. This episode got very scary during the autopsy. I shut the blinds and re-locked the door to the room I was in at this point. It was so sad, too!! When Scully turned and saw Emily, I thought "uh-oh" but then I saw Gillian's face and I melted. I was crying so fast! She can get to you with just a facial expression, can't she? She really is much better than David. It's too bad she started out with such a significantly lower salary than he did. The crew at XF didn't know what a gold mine they'd hit on.After Scully sees Emily, and it bounces back to Paula, her hands shook! It was really obvious. But, I guess you can't fake rigor mortis, can you? Humans move, you can't stop that. But then Emily said, "Mommy, please..." and I was crying again... One of the things I noticed when Scully was crying was that her eyebrow goes WAY, WAY up!! When the camera kept flashing back to that horrible face after Emily's cute little round one, after awhile, I felt like I couldn't handle seeing her anymore. It was too sad. That girls face didn't bother me until that scene when it was so closely shown with Emily. And then when Mulder went to find the 3rd girl, I seriously considered looking away when it showed the dead girl. I never look away from the X-Files. It never bothers me that much. When Mulder put his arm around Scully, and put his head so close to hers, I thought it looked like he was going to kiss her. But then I just hoped for a hug. When that didn't happen, I just started yelling at Mulder. He's so dumb! He was so upset in 'One Breath' when he found out Scully had been brought back, but was in a coma, and yet, when she's alive, it doesn't matter if she's a little sad about loosing a daughter and then having visions of her on the autopsy table. What an oaf. When Scully went out to the car, and dropped her keys, alarm bells started going off immediatly. You just *know* something's going to happen. Again, the eyebrow went way, way up. But, I agree with you guys, that spinning head thing was cool! Very well done, special effects team. When the guy with red hair who I thought looked *way* too much like Bill (are they trying to tell us something? Bill's the devil!! Aaaagggghhhh!!! The devil is another William?!?) told Scully to come with him to see the girl at the church, I thought it was a trap. I couldn't figure out why he stayed firmly outside, either. It didn't dawn on me that, as the devil, he couldn't step inside the church until you guys mentioned it to me. By the way, I liked the shadow with the horns, but I think it was a little too much. And the end!! With Emily!! "Please, Mommy, let me go...." OK... Um, I'm just crying again..."

"This episode didn't sit right with me. Yes, the first time I watched it I wasn't wearing my glasses, and I was sitting in the farthest seat from the TV *dummy! hehe* so I thought Mulder was going into a bar instead of an XXX theater, and I thought he really was chasing a suspect! Well, I'm a dork. Hee hee. Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah, 'All Souls.' It could have been a hell of a lot better, but it could have been worse, too. I was going to give this episode a seven, but I couldn't. Not with Emily being brought back...not with that oh so emotional scene where Scully is holding the girl back from going to Heaven, and she looks down and sees Emily going "Mommy, let me go." I was close to tears at that part, and so I couldn't give it any less than an 8. Also, the little 'almost hug' scene where Mulder puts his arms on Scully's shoulders and tells her to back away fromt the case. Well, I'm hoping the final three episodes will top...this. No offense to DD or GA, but you can tell they're both flat out tired. Its obvious. GA, though her performance in this episode was brilliant, was in dire need of a decongestant *who's not with all this pollen? Bleck!*, and DD looked like he was going to fall asleep at any moment. I can't help but pity them! Hopefully this summer they'll be well rested and ready to go next year...not really fresh as new but at least fresh enough that they'll enjoy being on the set. Anyway, my goodness Spotnitz and Shiban, this was a repeat of 'Revelations,' only this time the devil was the Social Security Guy! So the writers who wrote this were fired, and so S&S took it and mutilated their story idea into...this. Yes, it had its moments, such as the XXX theater thing and bringing Emily back, and the whole biblical storyline was intriging, but it just didn't seem right. I'm not even sure if I can explain what it was that made me uncomfortable about this episode, but there was something and it made me drop the episode from a 9 to an 8. Ooooh, I love the the whole good and evil war situation going on. 'The X-Files' does religion...and it works. Great job with that. They made the angel seem a little outrageous but eerie enough to seem real. Oh yes, wonderful special effects with the angels and the devil. The last scene where Scully returns the girl to Heaven instead of to the Devil was powerful...what can I say, it was breathtaking! This one got an 8 because thought it was a good episode it just wasn't my type of episode. I don't know, 'Revelations' didn't sit right with me and neither did 'All Souls,' and the music didn't impact me like it usually does, as well. Well, 'The Pine Bluff Variant' looks very interesting, but if John Shiban lets us down by showing us an interesting plotline and an interesting preview but doesn't deliver with the episode itself I'm personally going to run down to the X-Files set *hehe, yep, Miss Athletic...yeah, right* and give him a good bop on the head. Who's with me? Hehe, well, take my warning, Shiban. Don't mess this one up because so far you've done a good job of making me want to see it! Can't wait till next wee :)"

"Great episode, really great. Obviously everyone is going to be ranting about GA's wonderful performance so I'll skip that and let other people put it in better words than I could manage. Really great plot, I'm a Catholic so the plot was not only interesting but also held some personal meaning for me. I thought it was great how they incorporated Emily in with the story, and in the end when Scully had to let go of Emily, then you could just tell that Scully was on her way to recovery then. The little scene where Mulder told Scully to back off was really nice. Showed how supportive Mulder could be to a friend. Though I am getting a little sick of how much people are showing of his life. We all know he has no life, and outside of Scully and the Lone Gunman, no friends...well there is Danny. Anyway, 'Chinga' was fine for showing off his dullness, but I think they could show him doing something constructive outside of work. Again, great episode, I can' wait till next week, I'll have to take up a hobby outside of X-Files to pass the time!!!"

"A confessional Scully finds herself in the middle of a three Hail Mary faith crisis and a multi digit angel kid creepy plot derived from the Bible and similar to the Prophecy movies. Hallelujah. Not bad. I like the disturbing way in which the mutant angelic offspring were claimed which is to credit the show's producers with always trying to find a previously untraversed folklore based angle in which to add some zest to it's supernatural events. Scully's faith searching always interests me, (which is in no small part due to Gillian Anderson's gift from God acting) it is in keeping with the shows basic premise of utilizing unprovable beliefs as real events in the lives of it's characters and following, what now seems to be Ms. Scientific Scully's increasingly succesful attempts at grasping with the belief of the unknown. Although Mr. Skeptical mind manipulation theorizing Mulder seems to be doing a lot of doubting lately, I find his mental twist interesting. While in the past, Mulder's religious skepticism was in keeping with people in the UFO community who wish to supplant past religions with a UFOs were behind everything ideology it now stands to reason that if UFO's were the product of misdirected psyches then religion must be as well, eh, Mr. Misdirection. Alien Amen."

"Loved the episode. Great plot. And do I need to mention about Gillian? WOW, what a great job acting. She could be so emotinal and so together in a matter of minutes! "She's a bird with wings of steel." Chirs Carter did a great job including Emily in this episode. I'm not a shipper, but I loved the love between Mulder and Scully, without the deep look in the eye, or any touchyness. You can clearly see how much Mulder cares for Scully. Gillian Rocks! Go Gillian!"

"This episode was wonderful! It was totally different from the usual storyline! The burnt out eye effects were brilliant. It was sooooo sad that Scully kept seeing her daughter. The whole episode was touching and it was so sad it made me cry."
-Kelli K.-

"Very deep episode. Sometimes a bit confusing. Good thing I record each episode (I have all of them). I can then review each at my leisure and get other views."
-Karen V.-
