"This episode didn't sit right with me. Yes, the first time I watched it I wasn't wearing my glasses, and I was sitting in the farthest seat from the TV *dummy! hehe* so I thought Mulder was going into a bar instead of an XXX theater, and I thought he really was chasing a suspect! Well, I'm a dork. Hee hee. Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah, 'All Souls.' It could have been a hell of a lot better, but it could have been worse, too. I was going to give this episode a seven, but I couldn't. Not with Emily being brought back...not with that oh so emotional scene where Scully is holding the girl back from going to Heaven, and she looks down and sees Emily going "Mommy, let me go." I was close to tears at that part, and so I couldn't give it any less than an 8. Also, the little 'almost hug' scene where Mulder puts his arms on Scully's shoulders and tells her to back away fromt the case. Well, I'm hoping the final three episodes will top...this. No offense to DD or GA, but you can tell they're both flat out tired. Its obvious. GA, though her performance in this episode was brilliant, was in dire need of a decongestant *who's not with all this pollen? Bleck!*, and DD looked like he was going to fall asleep at any moment. I can't help but pity them! Hopefully this summer they'll be well rested and ready to go next year...not really fresh as new but at least fresh enough that they'll enjoy being on the set. Anyway, my goodness Spotnitz and Shiban, this was a repeat of 'Revelations,' only this time the devil was the Social Security Guy! So the writers who wrote this were fired, and so S&S took it and mutilated their story idea into...this. Yes, it had its moments, such as the XXX theater thing and bringing Emily back, and the whole biblical storyline was intriging, but it just didn't seem right. I'm not even sure if I can explain what it was that made me uncomfortable about this episode, but there was something and it made me drop the episode from a 9 to an 8. Ooooh, I love the the whole good and evil war situation going on. 'The X-Files' does religion...and it works. Great job with that. They made the angel seem a little outrageous but eerie enough to seem real. Oh yes, wonderful special effects with the angels and the devil. The last scene where Scully returns the girl to Heaven instead of to the Devil was powerful...what can I say, it was breathtaking! This one got an 8 because thought it was a good episode it just wasn't my type of episode. I don't know, 'Revelations' didn't sit right with me and neither did 'All Souls,' and the music didn't impact me like it usually does, as well. Well, 'The Pine Bluff Variant' looks very interesting, but if John Shiban lets us down by showing us an interesting plotline and an interesting preview but doesn't deliver with the episode itself I'm personally going to run down to the X-Files set *hehe, yep, Miss Athletic...yeah, right* and give him a good bop on the head. Who's with me? Hehe, well, take my warning, Shiban. Don't mess this one up because so far you've done a good job of making me want to see it! Can't wait till next wee :)"

"Great episode, really great. Obviously everyone is going to be ranting about GA's wonderful performance so I'll skip that and let other people put it in better words than I could manage. Really great plot, I'm a Catholic so the plot was not only interesting but also held some personal meaning for me. I thought it was great how they incorporated Emily in with the story, and in the end when Scully had to let go of Emily, then you could just tell that Scully was on her way to recovery then. The little scene where Mulder told Scully to back off was really nice. Showed how supportive Mulder could be to a friend. Though I am getting a little sick of how much people are showing of his life. We all know he has no life, and outside of Scully and the Lone Gunman, no friends...well there is Danny. Anyway, 'Chinga' was fine for showing off his dullness, but I think they could show him doing something constructive outside of work. Again, great episode, I can' wait till next week, I'll have to take up a hobby outside of X-Files to pass the time!!!"

"A confessional Scully finds herself in the middle of a three Hail Mary faith crisis and a multi digit angel kid creepy plot derived from the Bible and similar to the Prophecy movies. Hallelujah. Not bad. I like the disturbing way in which the mutant angelic offspring were claimed which is to credit the show's producers with always trying to find a previously untraversed folklore based angle in which to add some zest to it's supernatural events. Scully's faith searching always interests me, (which is in no small part due to Gillian Anderson's gift from God acting) it is in keeping with the shows basic premise of utilizing unprovable beliefs as real events in the lives of it's characters and following, what now seems to be Ms. Scientific Scully's increasingly succesful attempts at grasping with the belief of the unknown. Although Mr. Skeptical mind manipulation theorizing Mulder seems to be doing a lot of doubting lately, I find his mental twist interesting. While in the past, Mulder's religious skepticism was in keeping with people in the UFO community who wish to supplant past religions with a UFOs were behind everything ideology it now stands to reason that if UFO's were the product of misdirected psyches then religion must be as well, eh, Mr. Misdirection. Alien Amen."

"Loved the episode. Great plot. And do I need to mention about Gillian? WOW, what a great job acting. She could be so emotinal and so together in a matter of minutes! "She's a bird with wings of steel." Chirs Carter did a great job including Emily in this episode. I'm not a shipper, but I loved the love between Mulder and Scully, without the deep look in the eye, or any touchyness. You can clearly see how much Mulder cares for Scully. Gillian Rocks! Go Gillian!"

"This episode was wonderful! It was totally different from the usual storyline! The burnt out eye effects were brilliant. It was sooooo sad that Scully kept seeing her daughter. The whole episode was touching and it was so sad it made me cry."

"Very deep episode. Sometimes a bit confusing. Good thing I record each episode (I have all of them). I can then review each at my leisure and get other views."
