I must admit that is the only reason why I began watching, but when I was introduced to your character I looked forward to seeing what your character was doing as well as hers and just how the two of you would wind up. You have shown the world that being physically challenged is not the end of the world. Thank you for fighting to bring a full life to both Byron and Matt and allowing the viewers (and the writers and producers) to see two well rounded individuals, a lawyer and a doctor, who happen to use a wheelchair to get across the room. Mitch, I think you were an asset to PC and will be missed. Your character being in a wheel chair really was not the central focus and that was probably the best part for me. Dear Mr. Longley, I am sorry to hear that you are leaving PORT CHARLES. Your character, Dr. Matt Harmon, has been an inspiration for many people with disabilities and taught non-disabled persons to treat EVERYONE with dignity and respect.

I will miss Matt very much. He was strong, charming, had a wonderful sense of humor, and I have to say (no offense to the other actors) the SEXIEST character on the show!! I really liked the romance of Matt and Ellen. I have only two words to say about the actresses who worked with you--LUCKY GIRLS!!!

I thought that the current storyline with the ParaStep-I System stimulator was a wonderful addition to your character. I will miss the times when Matt put that jerk Dr. Boardman in his place. Matt proves that you don't have to have legs to be a good doctor--all you need is intelligence, a heart, courage, and compassion and respect for patients and co-workers. Matt had that tenfold.

I do not blame you for not resigning your contract. Who would want to resign after they only put you on once a month, if you were on that many times at all. As I said you will be truely missed. The show will not be the same without you. If they cancel the show and the ratings go down, I am blaming that on your departure. TPTB did not know what a great thing that they had in you. Mitch; I got hooked on PC and Matt several years ago. In the last few weeks, I had not seen PC everyday, but did see the shows with the ParaStep story line and before that the few with the sinister character stalking Matt. My heart alternately rose and fell with the anticipation of the progression of the story line. Was this the beginning of a continued story line? Or the beginning of the end? My worst fear has been realized. After seeing the Matt character get shuffled more and more to the back of the line, I do not blame you one bit for departing to better pastures and parts. I hope that soon someone with foresight and creativity find you and give you the major role that you so richly deserve!

I was never even vaguely interested in any daytime dramas until I thought TPTB were finally taking a long overdue step in the right direction with the inclusion of a key player who was a PWD. I began watching with the 2-hour opener and never missed taping an episode. They came so close to getting it right with a fine actor like yourself and the potential the character of Dr. Matt Harmon offered. Furthermore, I cannot convey my sadness at the loss of both Dr. Matt Harmon and you from the show.
