THE JOKER
The Joker is nameless. He was a common hitman with dealings in the underworld, until a fall into a vat of chemicals forever changed his appearance and drove him insane. The Joker is extremely deadly and kills just for laughs. His brand of sick humor brings a smile to his face alone. (Okay, so his humor makes us all laugh, but that's beside the point...)

HARLEY QUINN
Harleen Quinzel was once a doctor at Arkham Asylum, until she fell in love with the Joker. She created her own costume and makeup to become his very own "Harlequin." While she loves the Joker (and thinks he loves her), he could care less about her and continually uses her. She doesn't see this, and she always goes back.

THE PENGUIN
Oswald Cobblepot was once a theif who stole everything from money to Fabrege eggs. This could not buy him the one thing he truly desired, however; acceptance. Longing to belong somewhere, when the Penguin was released from prison, he created The Iceberg Lounge, an exclusive nightclub. He is now among the social elite, but he still keeps a hand in the criminal underworld.

TWO-FACE
Harvey Dent was once Gotham City's District Attourney, but after an explosion scarred him physically, years of repressed anger was unleashed, and Two-Face was born. Two-Face makes his decisions by flipping his coin (one side normal, the other scratched), and he cannot make choices without it. Bruce Wayne has tried on numerous occasions to help Harvey through surgery and counseling, but Two-Face always seems to come back.

CLAYFACE
Matt Hagan was mutated into the shape-shifting monster, Clayface, after he was exposed to dangerous amounts of Roland Dagget's ReNu-U skin cream. Hagan, a former actor, has never been the same since, and uses his form to commit crimes.

THE SCARECROW
Jonathan Crane is obsessed with fear. A former professor at Gotham University, he was fired when his experiments went out of control. The Scarcrow creates gases, chemicals, and even isolates radio frequencies that can drive victims mad with whatever they fear most. Most recently, Scarecrow developed a gas which could take away people's fear.

THE RIDDLER
Edward Nygma was distraught after he was fired from his job after creating a top-selling computer game. (The company wanted all the money to itself.) So, he created a costume and used his intellect to become the Riddler. Nygma uses word games and conundrums to try and outwit Batman, but he usually doesn't due to the fact that Batman "is the only one worthy of the game."

BANE
A prison inmate in South America was given a powerful drug called "venom." The drug made the man extremely strong and powerful, able to bulk himself up at any time through a pump which carried the drug. He became a freelance assassin named Bane. Bane was hired by Rupert Thorne once to kill Batman, but he failed.

CATWOMAN
Selina Kyle is an animal rights activist who also has an obsession with rare jewels. First donning her Catwoman costume in order to save the land of some wildcats from becoming a resort area, Selina also has committed several heists. Not truly bad, Catwoman has helped out the BatTeam from time to time, and has also tried to clean up her act.

KILLER CROC
Waylon Jones is a former professional wrestler who turned criminal. His rare skin condition earned him the name "Killer Croc," and he is very powerful.

MR. FREEZE
While an experiment to save his wife's life was interrupted, Victor Fries was affected by croyogenic chemicals that now allow him to survive only in extreme cold. He wore a suit as a cooling unit that allowed him to survive in other temperatures. His wife was saved and revived, but he could never return to her. The condition he is affected with caused his body to deteriorate, and by the time doctors could stop it, he was left as only a head.

THE MAD HATTER
Jervis Tech was a circuitry expert at Wayne Enterprizes until he started using his technology to control people's minds. Adopting the persona of the Mad Hatter from "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," Tech has tried many schemes to earn money and get rid of Batman. So far, none have succeeded.

POISON IVY
Pamela Isley was once a botanist whose unique body chemistry made immune to all poisons and toxins. She loves plantlife, and is extremely protective of it. She keeps plenty of rare and endangered plants and also creates her own species. She is also an expert in creating poisons, which she usually administers with a kiss.

THE VENTRILOQUIST AND SCARFACE
Arnold Wesker has a split personality. Scarface is a wooden dummy, but through Wesker he becomes a criminal mastermind. Since they share separate brain wave patterns, neither know what the other is thinking. Because of this, Scarface calls Wesker "Dummy," because he never knows what's going on. Recently, Wesker has been treated and released. He was given a new home and job.
