Cinderella was the studios first full feature length film since World War II.  They had put out films, but they were package features.  See Fun and Fancy Free and Melody Time for more information.
The name of Cinderella's wicked step-mother is Lady Tremaine.
The lady who begins the film by reading the book voices one of Disney's most famous villians:  Cruella DeVille

MPAA Rating:
G  Animated violence between animals, family.

My Rating:
Cinderella marked the beginning of the Silver Age of Disney.  The animation was top notch for its time, and its success paved the way for more full length animated films like Peter Pan and Lady and the Tramp.
