The Fox and The Hound (1981)

Synopsis:

Todd is an abandoned fox found by the Widow Tweed.  Copper is a hound dog owned by the hunter Amos Slade.  Though the two youngsters should be mortal enemies, they become fast friends.  Unfortunately, as they grow older, Todd must go to a preserve, while Copper becomes a hunting dog.  When Slade goes after Todd in the preserve, Copper is cornered by a bear.  Todd rescues him.  Knowing that they cannot have the same friendship they once had, they part, each going to the life they should lead.

My Rating:
While it is enjoyable (and I have fond memories of seeing it in a theater which burnt down about 8 years ago), the film does not quite have the Disney spark.
