Robin Virginia Gayle Wright was born on April 8, 1966 in Dallas Texas. Her parents divorced when she was two years old, and she was raised by her mother, spending summers with her father. In 1989, she met actor Sean Penn on the set of "State of Grace". They married in 1996, and have since starred in several movies together, including "She's So Lovely" (Here's a picture of them in this film). She has two children, daughter Dylan and son Hopper.
Robin started modeling at age 14, but only continued in the profession to support herself while she backpacked through Europe. She then landed her first acting job playing Kelly Capwell in the 1984 soap opera Santa Barbara, for which she received three Emmy nominations (not bad for a beginner, eh?). Her film debut came with The Princess Bride, and Robin has had a successful acting career ever since. She received a Golden Globe nominee for Best Supporting Actress in the film Forest Gump. She prefers artistic roles, and is a bit notorious for turning down roles in big commercialized movies. These include such films as Batman Forever, Jurassic Park, the title role in Sabrina, Up Close and Personal, and Robin Hood-Prince of Thieves (actually, she accepted this role but then dropped out after becoming pregnant). In fact, she turned down so many offers that Pen Densham, director and writer of Moll Flanders, didn't approach her at first for fear of being rejected. "She's extremely hard on material. She's more interested in the work than becoming a star."
