Colonel O'Neill reveals that Dr.Jackson isn't dead, but living on Abydos. It is unknown as to wether Jackson buried the gate on Abydos. Abydos is the only known planet which the stargate connects to, so it is decided to contact Dr. Jackson using a kleenex box.
The box is returned to Earth bearing the words, "Thanks, send more". The decision is made to send Colonel O'Neill and the newly appointed Captain Carter as well as a team through the gate to Abydos. Abydos is the only known destination of the stargate therefore it is assumed that the abducted officer is on Abydos. The team soon discovers otherwise.

He tells them of Tari a primative world where the goa'uld first harvested. Colonel Kennedy tells Teal'C that Earth is in fact Tari.
Daniel trys to sleep, but finds a dead body on the top bunk. The MRI reveals a goa'uld inside of Kawalsky. Kawalsky escapes the infirmiry and tries to activate the gate. He takes Carter hostage and tries to escape. When they open the elevator door Kawalsky is normal again and Carter is injured.
Kawalsky is taken into custody. He realizes that the goa'uld entered him on Chulak. If they remove the parasite Kawalsky could be paralized or even die.
They ask Teal'C if he still carries his goa'uld to make sure it wasn't his that entered Kawalsky. Teal'C tells them that if they try to remove it he will die.
Hammond and Teal'C talk to the goa'uld in Kawalsky. It demands to be returned through the stargate. It trys to escape, but Kawalsky returns before they shoot him.
Colonel Kennedy suggests that the goa'uld be left inside Kawalsky. He believes that they can learn from it and use its knowledge. The General tells them that they will go through with the procedure regardless.
They run tests on Teal'C to find an anesthetic. The goa'uld is successfully removed and Kawalsky begins to recover. Kennedy has orders to leave and take Teal'C with him.
Teal'C goes to speak to Kawalsky before he leaves. Kawalsky turns into a goa'uld and tells Teal'C that he is still in the host. He escapes and activates the stargate. Teal'C catches him and holds his head in the gate. The energy from the gate activation kills Kawalsky and the goa'uld.

As they await the explosion nothing happens. When they bring Kassandra back to the mountain they discover that the device is gone, reabsorbed into her system. Kassandra remains on Earth.
Colonel O'Neill begins to plan an escape, but Teal'C refuses to go because it would disrespect the Bersa. The Bersa have already assumed Teal'Cs guilt sending a young girl to hear his "pekavay" whom O'Neill turns away. O'Neill makes the decision that he and SG-1 will be Tea'C' defense.
At the beginning of the trial the young man appologizes for threatening Teal'C and asks forgiveness. He states that Teal'C will die for his crime and the boy will lead the trial. Unlike on Earth the Bersa believe only the victim can lead the Cor-Ai and decide punishment.

Meanwhile Daniel shows how Teal'C' killing a crippled man acctually saved the rest of the villagers. They could not move fast because of Hanos' father. Teal'C saw his injury and they could better escape Apophis the next time without his father.
Hanos asks if Teal'Cs recent actions can return his father and he states that no amount of good can erase his actions. He states that the following day he will die by his own weapon.
Hammond refuses to send reinforcements because they cannot interfere and that the government policies prevent action. The president does not authorize rescue.
O'Neill and Carter return to find that the goa'uld have returned in their abscence. Hanos believes that Jack told them because they have blocked their escape routes. A young boy unties Teal'C who then kills Shackle.

Daniel tells Samantha that one of the Tolans is interested in her and wants to see her, his name is Narime. Carter takes him to the surface of the mountain. Narime says that they are glad to be alive and that Omach is trying to protect them and Earth.
After sending a minature UAV through the gate they find out that the Tolan's will never be able to return home. Colonel Maybourne arrives from intelligence to take the Tolans. Hammond states that they cannot be released untill they have been through quarantine, in order to buy time. He tells SG-1 that they need to find an alternative to releasing them.
The president informs Maybourne that he has full authorization to relocate the Tolans.
SG-1 suggests that Daniel help them escape because he cannot be court martialed. Daniel tells Hammond of the Nox and that the Tolans may have the technology to contact them. Daniel gives Omach the co-ordinates to the planet. Omach takes Daniel through walls and they escape the complex. Once on the mountain top Omach uses a device to contact the Nox.
