WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*** I'll warn you...there are spoilers ahead (I think, so that means there MUST be!) so be warned that I may ruin some of the plot! If you don't care, read on! ^_^
I have broken it down into the issues for easier perusal, and so that if you were/are missing an issue, or were interrupted while reading earlier, you don't have to scroll all over to find where you were at if you remember what issue you were in! ^_^ Aren't I so nice?

For those who don't have the First Graphic Novel, here's something that was omitted from the first issue that should come BEFORE the first page of the manga...it reads: "The Four Countries surrounding Oukoku are ruled by the Phantom Saints." THEN you get the first page, which is this site's opening page. From here we switch to a fight between Dark and Sou-sama, a training exercise of sorts, and Dark is "beaten". They take a break, and we learn that Dark has trained for five years, and that Sou's time "is up". So Sou-sama tells Dark that this is the last lesson, and if he cant defeat him, he DIES. Well....Dark wins, but Sou lets Dark kill him. :( But that was the way Sou wanted it, says Kyo, whom we meet during and after the fight. Dark inherits the position of Phantom Saint of the Red Phoenix, but he must go to Oukoku to declare himself. So, to respect Sou's wish, they do. But...Dark's poor sense of direction lands them in Toi, kingdom of the blue dragon. Uh oh...considering that there is a treaty that is not to be broken about crossing without permission!!! They try to run out, but end up IN THE MIDDLE OF TOI! And there, they encounter Leen-sama, Phantom Saint of the Blue Dragon, and her two sidekicks, Tou and Chao...
OK, taking off from Issue 1 and meeting Leen...she asks who he is. He says he is Dark-sama, Phantom Saint of the Red Phoenix. Chao asks about Sou, and Dark admits to killing him. Leen asks why he entered without permission. Kyo tries to warn him not to say this, but he does. "I got lost." And so, Leen & co. laugh, and then he is accused of NOT being a phantom saint because of it. Even though they see the sword, they don't quite believe it. (As the sword is "the proof".) So, Tou faces off with Dark. Dark either evades, or manages to fight back, but the chain on the Sword of the Red Phoenix will not release. Dark is hit by a blast of water, but swims in it...and out of it. My favorite line: "I'm impressed. That sword of yours cuts well. However, if I move with the water, its possible to stay out of harm's way... Besides, ever since I was a child...I've been a good swimmer." Nice comeback, Dark! But then Tou attacks with a huge sphere of water, nearly ending Dark right there...but Sou's voice reminds Dark to meld his soul and sword together, or he'll never be able to fight or draw the sword. Tou says its over, but suddenly, there is Dark standing there, Sword raised standing amidst the water. Tou is angry, but Chao is worse, and seems bent on revenge. She inquires "did you really kill him?" He replies yes, and she will not accept anymore explanations. She then says she will kill him and believes he was an enemy of Sou-sama, much to Dark's surprise...
