What kind of movie can you expect from one titled "301, 302"? Although it's packaged as a dark comedy/horror film, I would personally classify it more as a drama more than anything else. Even though there are subtle traces of dark humor and some disturbing scenes here and there, it is really about two Korean women coping with different eating disorders. One of them is bulimic while the other has a ravenous--and increasingly unusual--appetite. Eventually, the perpetually hungry woman eats things that she really shouldn't be eating. I found this Korean offering to be somewhat slow but interesting enough to watch all the way through, and its oddball ending should prove quite rewarding. I would not recommend it to impatient types or those who much prefer the campier films, but if you're looking for a serious--and different--horror flick, then feast your eyes on "301, 302". |
