"Beaks: The Movie"...It's even worse than it sounds. "Beaks" is basically about Mother Nature getting revenge against mankind, and swarms of birds do her dirty work. However, the savage attacks are more funny than scary, even though there is a fair amount of gore. Is it a satire of Alfred Hitchcock's classic "The Birds"? Or a pathetic rip-off? It's definitely the latter since the movie takes itself too seriously to be classified as a satirical comedy. It has such atrocious acting and a stupid script that it is not even worth calling a B-movie. For that matter, it may even be inappropriate to label "Beaks" as a B-minus movie. Other than the birds themselves and perhaps the cameraman who closely resembles Luke Skywalker, "Beaks: The Movie" hardly gives any reason for anyone to watch it all the way through. If you're deliberately looking for a bad movie or a test of character, then this bird dropping should do quite nicely. Mystery Science Theater 3000 would have a field day with "Beaks: The Movie." |

OVERALL RATING
** NOTE: The more dots, the better the movie. A dozen dots is as good as they get, while one or no dots accounts for what can euphemistically be labeled "bottom-of-the-barrel entertainment." ** |
